No Longer Lovesick After a Memory Loss

Chapter 85

Chapter 85

Chapter 85 Did I Like This?

The next day.

As it was the weekend, Freya arrived at the Joint Department early.

She sat next to Radley in the meeting room.

Then, the person in charge of the Monaghan Group suggested, “The artificial lake we have designed has a complex underground piping system, which includes gas and water pipelines. We are verifying this matter with the respective departments before asking them to reroute the entire piping system.”

Hearing that, Freya frowned. If there were so many pipelines, rerouting would become troublesome.

She thought momentarily and asked, “Are you sure there is no other way?”

Then, Radley said, “I will visit the site with Miss Kaufmann in the afternoon. Let’s proceed to the next agenda.”

Freya turned to look at him silently. When did she say she wanted to go to the site personally? However, he was right. It was necessary to take a look.

After the meeting. Freya returned to her own office. Not long after, someone knocked on her door. She permitted the person to come in, and then she saw Connor standing with a smile.

“Miss Kaufmann, these snacks are from the Monaghans. The Old Madam heard that you are in the Joint Department and had someone make them for you.”

Daniella sent it.

Freya thought for a moment and said, “Put them down. How is Madam Daniella’s health recently?”

She had promised to visit Daniella every week but had yet to go this week.

With that, Connor respectfully replied, “She’s doing pretty well. Her illness hasn’t relapsed yet.”

“That’s good.”

After waiting for Connor to leave, Freya opened the food basket and looked at it. They were snacks that she loved. Daniella must be familiar with her palate. Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.

Freya’s eyes were overwhelmed with warmth as she tasted a snack and found a show on her tablet to watch.

Freya was loaded with work since it was the end of the month. Although she was at the Joint Department on the weekend, there wasn’t much to do.

She squinted her eyes and searched for a romantic show to binge.

After watching two episodes of the show, there was a knock at the door again.

She thought it was Connor again and said, “Come in.”

The door was pushed open, and Radley walked in.

“Didn’t the meeting end? Do you need something, Mr. Monaghan?” Freya asked.

Radley’s voice was calm when he replied. “The AC in my office has broken down, so I’m borrowing your

office now.”

The AC?

It was the peak of summer, and the current temperature had already soared to thirty degrees. Freya thought for a moment and said, “You can sit here.”

She got up and gave up her desk before sitting down on the sofa.

In the office, the sound of the show occasionally came from Freya’s tablet, while Radley looked through documents.

Freya lifted her tablet and secretly stole a glance at him.

At this moment, Radley was sitting upright with his sleeves slightly rolled up, revealing half of his arm.

His white shirt, bronze skin, and luxurious wristwatch..

All the details on him exuded a sense of class.

Freya subtly lowered the volume of her tablet as she watched Radley read documents from time to time.

The afternoon sun was scorching as it shone through the window behind them.

She yawned, and he had already stood up from behind the desk.

“Do you have time for lunch?” he asked.

She lazily replied, “Is there something you need?”

“Since you borrowed me your desk, I’ll treat you to lunch.”

Freya wanted to decline, but she saw his serious expression. She thought it was lunchtime anyway and stood up. “Let’s go.

They came out of the Joint Department, and Connor was already waiting in front of the door with the car.

Many restaurants and eateries had stopped operating due to the ongoing renovation project in West Geft. Connor drove the car while Radley and Freya sat in the back seat.

Freya silently peeked around and noticed Radley’s presence, which she couldn’t ignore. The tight space in the car made her feel like her privacy could be invaded at any moment.

“Where are we going to cat? Is it far?” Freya asked after half an hour.

Radley shifted his gaze. “Are you hungry?”

His voice was soft and tender. He sounded affectionate.

Then, she pursed her lips. She must have misheard him. “A little bit.”

“Connor, how much longer?”

“Mr. Monaghan, there are twenty more minutes.”

Freya frowned as she listened to their conversation. “I am fine with cating anything.”

Radley smirked before speaking. “Chris recently opened a restaurant around here. He wants to invite someone to try his dishes and get some feedback.”

In response, she raised an eyebrow. “I see. You’re using me to do a favor.”

He chuckled. “In that case, I’ll invite you again next time.”

There is no need for that! Freya narrowed her eyes. After all, Chris had helped Isabella and her at the bar last

time.

What was the worst that could happen?

Chris’ restaurant was located in the South Geft, a valuable piece of land. It was a restaurant that served Zettai cuisine, and Freya followed Radley inside. After they were seated and ordered their food, the atmosphere became more relaxed.

Freya had been hungry for a while, so she only focused on eating.

Radley picked up a piece of fish and put it in the saucer before her. “Grandma called today, and she said. she wants to see you. Don’t you have to visit her once a week?”

She nodded. “It’s been busy at the company lately since it was the end of the month. I almost forgot. Il go

see her this afternoon.”

With that, he hummed. I’m going back to the old mansion this afternoon too, so I can give you a lift.”

“No need.” She frowned. Tll just drive myself there.

“Your car is at the Joint Department. It will waste a lot of time to go back and forth. I need to go to the old mansion to get some documents and then back to West Geft.” Radley’s face remained calm.

His explanation made sense, so Freya didn’t say anything else. After they finished eating, they walked out of the restaurant together.

Chris wasn’t there, so she gave her opinion on the food to Radley. They saw a couple paying their bill as they walked toward the exit. The woman stared at Radley, and then Freya heard a faint gasp.

Freya stole a glance at Radley and silently lamented. God had probably spent a few years making Radley. His looks were truly blessed by the Heavens.

After that, Freya and Radley got into the car. “To the old mansion,” Radley told Connor.

The restaurant was not far from the old mansion, and Connor came down from the car after driving to a small plaza. “Mr. Monaghan, I’ll go pick up the things.

Then, Freya looked at Connor walking toward the plaza. “What is he doing?”

Radley’s eyes deepened. “Getting some roasted chestnuts. Grandma likes the roasted chestnuts from around here. I always bring home some when I go back.”

She looked at the plaza outside. There were several small shops around it, and the landscaping was stunning. In addition, there was a beautiful forest nearby.

She held her chin as this place felt familiar, as though she had been here before.

After ten minutes, Connor came back with two bags of roasted chestnuts. The rich aroma filled the car, and Freya squinted her eyes. The scent was nutty and fragrant.

At this time, Radley seemed to notice her craving and asked Connor for a bag before handing it to her.

Freya took it over, and the surface of the chestnuts was still slightly sticky. Then, after taking a few roasted chestnuts, her fingers turned sticky.

She ate happily. The corner of her eyes and mouth became upturned when she tasted the familiar taste.

“Have I tried this before?” Freya asked.

Radley’s eyes were deep and probing. “Yes.” The maid at home said Freya often bought roasted chestnuts from this shop.

“No wonder. It tastes familiar to me.”

Freya didn’t think much of it..
