Chapter 36
Chapter 36:
The presidential suite’s exclusive elevator and the regular elevator were built side by side. The former was a little further inland, so Justin and the other two would have to go through the regular elevator to get to the restaurant.
Justin’s movements were very purposeful, so he always kept his gaze steady as he walked. He stood straight and tall like a tower, he had a cold air about him as he walked. His countenance was covered with a layer of frost and that iconic mole of his gave off nobility and alienation towards others.
Next to him, Pete, who was a miniature of Justin, had exactly the same expression. Only he was too young, so his young face looked a little more tender.
Overshadowed by them, Chester, who was a little less dazzling, walked beside them energetically. He was delighted to be able to accompany their leader and do his own thing.
He was a cheerful and lively person, looking around as he walked. When he caught a glimpse of the person in the elevator, he suddenly froze. When he looked again, he saw the face identical to Pete’s.
He swallowed hard and slowly looked down, only to see his nephew right next to him. He was so shocked that he exclaimed, “Justin!”.
Justin turned and looked at him unhurriedly, his deep, bottomless gaze resting with distaste on the person making a fuss. Chester pointed to the regular elevator and said, “There’s two Petes!”.
Chester looked at the elevator again after his exclamation. This time, however, he only saw a few adults inside. The child he had just seen was nowhere in sight.
He rubbed his eyes and looked again, but there was still no child in the elevator. Puzzled, he said, “I actually saw Pete in the elevator a moment ago-why did he leave…?”
A worried expression appeared on his face. “Oh no, has my condition gotten worse, should I get my eyes checked?”
I was really seeing things….
Justin said coldly, “You should get your brain checked.”
Chester made a shocked expression. It was a comment as harmless as it was insulting.
After the three of them went through the elevator and around the restaurant hallway, Cherry, who was hiding behind some hotel guests, finally peeked out and patted her chest, relieved.noveldrama
She had almost been discovered.
She hurried out of the elevator and ran stealthily around the corner. She arrived just in time to hear the wait staff say respectfully, “Good evening, Mr. Hunt. The VVIP room is this way.”
The VVIP room?
That was exactly what Mom had told him to go when he called just now!
If Pete went in, wouldn’t everything be out in the open?
They had already reached the door to the VVIP room and were about to open the door. It was too late even if she called her brother now.
Cherry was quick to yell, “Hey!”
Pete was about to follow the tyrant into the room when he suddenly heard her voice. His heart suddenly sped up and he turned around in a hurry. The corner of his mouth gave a little twitch as he saw the little young lady running toward him.
Cherry was wearing a scarf around her head and sunglasses, which made her look very comical.
However, Cherry didn’t have the luxury of worrying so much. She held Pete’s hand and said, “You’re the boy who stays upstairs, aren’t you? Is your daddy here for dinner with mommy? Let’s go play on the playground.”
Only when Pete heard what she said did he understand why his sister had suddenly appeared.
It was fortunate that she hadn’t come in yet, otherwise everything would have been exposed!
He reacted quickly and nodded. “Okay.”
Justin, who was about to open the door, looked down. His eyes narrowed as he saw the girl who had wrapped the scarf around her head.
So, is she that woman’s daughter?
Indeed, she was as strange as she was.
After seeing his son silently ask permission with his eyes, Justin, who had never liked Pete interacting with strangers, paused. Finally, he said, “Go ahead.”
He didn’t know why, but subconsciously he felt it would be good for the two boys to play together.
Inside the restaurant there was a small children’s play area, designed especially for the restaurant’s small patrons. There were also special service personnel guarding the place.
The service and security at the Finest Hotel were not a problem at all. This was also the reason why Nora dared to let Cherry go downstairs alone.
After the two children ran out, Justin opened the door to the private room and walked in, leaving only Chester, who was still standing and watching the two children from the back.
It looked like the boy he had just seen in the regular elevator who looked exactly like Pete was wearing the exact same Spiderman costume.
As he thought about that, Chester said, “Go on in, Justin. I’ll go take care of Pete.”
After saying that, he quickly made his way to the children’s play area.
Inside the private room.
Even though there was a door separating them, Nora was still listening to what was going on outside. That young voice just now was probably Cherry, wasn’t it?
Nora stood up. She was about to go outside to take a look when the door opened to reveal Justin outside.
The man’s exquisite facial features were flawless. His deep-set eyes narrowed slightly as he made eye contact with her. The corners of his thin lips curved slightly and the icy aura around him slowly melted. He said, “We meet again, Miss Smith.”
Nora lowered her gaze indifferently. Was he the person her uncle wanted to invite to lunch?
Was the boy Cherry had invited to play with her her son?
Judging by the man’s numerous warnings to her, it was obvious that he was very protective of his son. Cherry was mischievous and had an unforgiving tongue. She had better not make the child cry thoughtlessly and bring them more unnecessary trouble.
In a slightly gravelly voice, Nora said, “Let me go and have a little talk with Cherry, Mr. Hunt.”
After speaking, she walked past him and straight out.
Eyes lowered, the smile at the corners of Justin’s lips widened. So his daughter’s name was Cherry? His son’s name was Pete. If one were to connect the names, it would sound like…. What a coincidence!
Down the hall.
Anthony paced anxiously with his hands behind his back as he thought about how he could create an opportunity to meet the Andersons and get to know them. But while he didn’t run into any of the Andersons, he did see a familiar figure.
The girl was wearing a simple T-shirt with jeans and shuffled her feet lazily as she walked. She looked half asleep, but even that raw, unpolished appearance couldn’t hide how attractive she was.
She really was Nora!
Anthony clenched his fists. Over the past few days, her figure had kept popping into his mind. Meeting her again, his gaze kept being unconsciously captured by her.
It was then that Anthony realized that he really had fallen in love with her.
He took a step forward and stood in front of Nora. “Why are you here, Nora?”
Nora, who found her path suddenly blocked, frowned. The look in her eyes was a little cold at the sight of Anthony. He replied, “Surely I don’t have to explain my whereabouts to you.”
Seeing how aloof he was being, Anthony suddenly lifted his chin and said arrogantly, “Do you know what I’m doing here, Nora?”
His words puzzled Nora. She was not interested in knowing.
However, without waiting for her response, Anthony continued and said, “The Andersons from New York are also here today. I’m here for a business meeting with them. When the Grays form a connection with the Andersons, we will definitely become bigger and become the richest family in California. If you do as I say, I may choose to forgive you.”
