Chapter 15: Stay and Keep Her Company
Sebastian's POV
Chapter 15: Stay and Keep Her Company
This was the second time I had received a letter since reaching adulthood.
But this rude act only fueled my anger further.
I scowled at the three letters lying beside me, one of which ignited a fire within me each. time I read it.
"Dear Sebastian, my King of the North. By the time you see this letter, I will have left here with my uncle."
"Three months ago, I encountered my destiny. I'm sorry I couldn't maintain my boundaries. I didn't want to hurt you so deeply, nor did I want Mignon to know she has a mother like me. I regret not being able to celebrate your twenty-fifth birthday with. you. I hope you meet your destiny soon; our love ends here. Wishing you happiness, forever yours, Rachel
I wished I could burn that wretched thing, yet it was the only reminder I had that she truly existed.
Three years ago, my lover, my wife, the Luna of the North, abandoned me and our daughter for her fated mate and fled.
Since then, she had vanished from our world. I never imagined such a thing would happen
to me.
So I locked my heart away, unwilling to accept anyone and too afraid to love again.
I had once sworn to her that if I encountered my destiny, I would forsake everything and choose only her.
Yet she broke our vow first; while the world mocked me, my father was murdered, and I had to shoulder the responsibilities of being Alpha.
The situation had taken a sharp turn; I had no heart to think about these matters until I arrived at this point, only to find the situation finally improving this year.
To my surprise, among these spoils was a woman named Melissa Helberg who had burst. into my life and carcer.
Her presence kept me awake at night, urging me to delve deeper into her story.
The alliances of the South and East had not only left me humiliated, but also insulted me multiple times because of Rachel's leaving.
Unlike my father, who was aggressive in his territorial claims, I rarely took over other regions. Still, I couldn't allow them to look down on the North.
After the raid, I assumed they would surrender willingly.

Naturally, I would take command of Melissa, the captivating, clever and courageous goddess who had entered my life.
Elliott was completely blind to her true abilities; only a man as powerful as I could awaken her potential.
1 felt destiny guiding me to hold onto her tightly.
Her existence was incredibly special to me.
The love Rachel once gave me had lost its meaning, and maintaining that relationship had become a burden.

One of the women, named Lydia, shared the same seaweed-like black hair as Rachel.
After Melissa arrived, I only thought about how to dismiss them all.
She was worth breaking my boundaries; what did it matter if they called her "secondhand"? Hadn't I also been discarded once?
But the mark on her neck infuriated me.
The other two Luna's marks had completely vanished, leaving only hers, which made me especially irate.
I wanted to formally admit that I was deeply fascinated by her, but the mark of Elliott Kauffman filled me with a strong sense of provocation.
Not to mention, he had the audacity to send me letters, defying my authority and attempting to take away the woman I was interested in.
In those two weeks, my time with Melissa was exceptionally harmonious.
I thought she might invite me to relax together, but she merely stood there, chatting and laughing with me as if it were normal.
One night, she even wore a silk nightgown, exposing her legs and back, which was a strong temptation for me.
What I didn't expect was to receive news of invasions from the eastern territories.
These fools dared to repeatedly violate my dignity!
So, I had no choice but to temporarily leave Melissa and head to the border for two days.
I wouldn't overlook anyone who threatened the safety of the North!
My beta, Martell, sensed something amiss in my emotions and spoke to me with
earnestness.

"Alpha, we can't rush into this. The people from the east have invaded us so suddenly; they might have support from others. I suspect they only intend to test our response. Not to mention, some of their wives, sisters, and children are here with us. If we can see through their intentions, we can use their families to take action."
I nodded; he was right.
"If they refuse to provide us with information, won't we have to waste additional resources. on an investigation?"
This guy had been in great spirits lately; he had developed feelings for a cruel lord's Luna. from the cast.
"No need for that; we can use torture directly."NôvelDrama.Org holds text © rights.
Hearing him say this made me chuckle.
"Are you really willing to torment that Kala?"
"No, Alpha, you don't understand. She is eager for us to the eastern territories right now and-kill her former husband. That man is a scoundrel who committed many cruel acts against her for the sake of destiny."
I was surprised to learn how backward the east was, still engaging in such barbaric and crude behavior.
"She is just like the other three Lunas. Their Alphas treated them unfairly after finding their destinies, and that experience was incredibly cruel and terrifying for them."
I knew Martell wasn't exaggerating, but I also believed Melissa was an exception.
Hadn't my subordinates said she had voluntarily thrown herself at them to intercept their attack toward Elliott for his safety
"Perhaps your woman is part of their southern scheme. You must be careful!"
Martell warned me, his eyes filled with concern.
"I will never waver because of a woman. Martell, you know me well. Although she Captivates me, if she approaches me with ulterior motives, I won't let her off easily. The entire meadow would become my enemy.
I spoke with absolute seriousness.
Perhaps Melissa was a special woman, but I wasn't foolish; I understood the responsibilities of the North.
In his letter, Elliott asked me to be kind to Melissa, his tone filled with sorrow.
Yet, I had no desire to understand that fool who treated a poor woman so badly for the sake of destiny.
I had to admit that Elliott's love for her was genuine; he was willing to humble himself.

before me for it. Melissa truly mattered to him, but he couldn't resist fate.
That was why he had lost her, and Melissa willingly gave him up, no longer wishing to be at

When I returned, 1 handed Elliott's letter to her.
To my surprise, she seemed to misunderstand, thinking I had done something to Elliott that caused her mark to vanish.
I earnestly explained to her that I had nothing to do with it.
"I don't even know why or what happened; I've just been dealing with the invasion of the North these past few days. If you need help, I can help you find out the truth."
When I handed her the damaged letter, she froze in place.
"For your safety, I read it first. I hope you won't be upset; I know each other."

"But separation is our best choice!"
Tears streamed down her face as she spoke, and I gently pulled her into my embrace.
I want to give her some time alone to calm down, but Melissa grasped my hand.
"Stay with me! Our marriage is over, and I've decided to let j
go completely."
It was clear we didn't know what had happened on the meadow, but we could be certain she had become a free woman.
"I won't have to share my husband with other women anymore."
Seeing her forced smile, I stroked her face.
"I hope you find the mood to ride tomorrow," I said, trying to comfort her.
"So I need to get some rest; I want to sleep now."
With that, she burrowed under the covers, carefully placing the letter beneath her pillow.
Her eyes fixed on me, as if she had more to say but couldn't find the words.
