Our Billion-Worth Twins

Chapter 61

Chapter 61

“Ollie is usually non-expressive. How did you bribe him? How did he get so attached to you, even giving you roses and handmade crafts?” Cedrick inched himself closer to her, and his hand that grabbed her wrist got tighter, too.” You’ve already borne a son for Jamie, so why are you still messing with my son?”

He was starting to wonder if Catelyn was a bad influence on Ollie. At this point, Catelyn had enough. She held his gaze firmly, but all she could feel was herself struggling in anger.

What did Cedrick mean, her bribing Ollie?

Also, it was none of his business to mind whose baby she had conceived!

“I underestimated you. You knew it was useless to approach me, so you wanted to get Ollie to accept you and then use him to make me accept you, too. You wanted to be his stepmother, to leap your way up the societal hierarchy, didn’t you?”

The veins on Catelyn’s forehead throbbed at Cedrick’s comment.

This man must have lost his mind!

Catelyn could feel her wrath rising steadily. “If you truly think that I had intentionally gotten close to Ollie, feel free to fire me. You can take your son back to your place, and we’ll never meet again!”

Cedrick watched as Catelyn raised her voice at his face, and a theory crossed his mind.

She was right; he was at the perfect liberty to fire her. However, how would Ollie react to it? Catelyn must have thought about this, and that was why she was so haughty to suggest it!

After all, the deal had quite a substantial value. She had completed the preliminary work too and was only waiting for execution to complete and, subsequently, arrange the payment.

He knew in his guts that she was in it for the money, or at least had been driven by the thought of it once.

Meanwhile, Ollie, who was eavesdropping outside the door, got anxious when he heard Catelyn’s words, implying she no longer wanted to see him.

He knew that his father had some prejudice against her, but he had never imagined it to be this bad. Catelyn never once attempted to bribe him; it was him who wanted to bribe her to become his stepmother!

For the first time, Ollie was disappointed in Cedrick.

He had opened so many good opportunities, but all of them turned sour as Cedrick assumed that Catelyn was a person of poor morals.

He even said Catelyn had evil intentions! How could Cedrick be so dense?!

Just when he was cracking his head on how to resolve this, a hot bowl of soup was served.

George Graham was curious to see Ollie standing by the doorway. Looking around, he wondered, ‘Wasn’t Master Cedrick’s room the one next to him?’

“Master Ollie, why are you standing here?” Of course, Ollie could not admit that he was eavesdropping. “I was just passing by. What about you, Uncle Graham?”

“Well, I’ve boiled some hot soup, you see, and I figured that Miss Catelyn probably hasn’t had it, so I decided to send some to her.” He pointed at the door behind Ollie, where Catelyn was resting

Ollie shot George a death stare.

This man wanted to woo Catelyn!

The hostile stare made George feel uneasy.

Though, for some unknown reason, Ollie happily opened the door for him and said respectfully, “If you would, Uncle George.” “Thanks, Ollie.”

He must have been imagining things. Ollie was always so well-mannered, and he even opened the door for him!

He was not the arrogant child people have described him at all. However, George’s jaw hung low as soon as he entered the room.
