Please Be Gentle With Me Mr Grant

Chapter 124 Who do you think you are

Chapter 124 Who do you think you are

Blanca knew nothing about the discussion in her office. At this moment, she was having lunch with

Matthew. It was quite a feast and Blanca was stuffed. She rubbed her stomach and looked across the

table at Matthew in confusion. In fact, as a benefit, the Empire Group provided lunch for its employees.

And Mrs. Brown had made Matthew some meals. Why did he take her out to lunch? After a while,

Blanca could not restrain her curiosity and asked, “Why are you so nice to me today, Matthew?” Blanca

thought for a moment and continued, “Have you done anything wrong?”

“Wrong? Who do you think you are, Blanca?” Matthew sneered, raising his eyebrow in disdain.

Blanca was accustomed to his arrogance. Besides, she was in a good mood at the moment. So, she

wasn’t irritated by his words at all. When they went back together after the meal, Blanca couldn’t help

asking, “Will you take me to see Mr. Butler tomorrow? Do you know what he likes? How old is he?

Maybe it is not a good idea to visit him abruptly?”

Blanca looked a bit nervous at the prospect of her meeting with this Ernest Butler. She was so deeply

in her own anxiety that she did not notice Matthew had stopped.

Matthew turned to face Blanca, who was chafing her hands together, and frowning. She was wearing a

business suit, making her brighter and more beautiful. Matthew stood looking at Blanca in silence and

found him mesmerized by her beauty.

“I’m talking to you, Matthew! Are you listening to me? If Mr. Butler is really my family, I …” Blanca

suddenly noticed Matthew and stopped in the middle of her words. Matthew was still staring at her.

Blanca was confused by his expression and asked, “Why are you stopping?”

“You’re so chatty,” Matthew said coldly.

Blanca didn’t expect him to say that. She shrugged her shoulders awkwardly, and held her mouth

closed meekly. She didn’t want to make Matthew angry, for she depended on him to meet Mr. Butler.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

They kept walking, without a word.

Blanca headed back to her office. As a new recruit, she didn’t get much work. She attended a meeting

at four o’clock in the afternoon with Anna and took notes there. While she gave Anna the minutes of the

meeting to read and check, it was time to get off work.

Blanca looked at the time and stretched. At this moment, she got a call from Curtis. “Chairman was out

on business, Mrs. Grant. I’ve sent a driver to wait for you outside the door. He will drive you home,”

Curtis said on the other end of the phone.

“Okay, thank you.” Upon hearing this, Blanca heaved a sigh of relief. She did not want anyone to see

her getting close to their chairman. It was too high profile.

Blanca looked out the window and saw the colors of sunset diffused across the sky. Its luster glistened

on her desk, which made it feel so warm inside the room. She seemed to be in a good mood. Others

began leaving the office, and Blanca turned off her computer too. She was humming quietly, apparently

quite at her ease. But when she just stepped out of the building, she heard someone calling her. Before

she turned back to take a good look, a sack covered her head.
