Please Be Gentle With Me Mr Grant

Chapter 49 I Can’t Argue with You…

Chapter 49 I Can’t Argue with You…

“How-how could it…” Kylie murmured, clutching at Todd tightly, resentfully. “It’s not my fault, darling. It’s

all Blanca’s doing, that bitch. It’s fine if you lost your job; we can look for a new one, okay?”

“Let go of me. If you hadn’t seduced me in the first place, I wouldn’t have broken up with Blanca at all.”

Todd finished, then seemed to get drowsy. He set his head down and fell asleep.

Kylie looked at him as he snored, her face contorting. Content © NôvelDrama.Org.

It was all Blanca’s fault.

Why could she have it better than her? She wouldn’t allow it!

Blanca suddenly sneezed.

She was still leaning on Matthew’s shoulder with a ten-centimeter pair of high heels. She was

stumbling about as she walked, but thankfully, Matthew could act as her crutch. She would have fallen

otherwise.

Getting into the office, Blanca couldn’t wait to finally take the high heels off as she slumped onto the

sofa. “Whew, I’m beat.”

She didn’t know how people wore those things all day.

“Tired just from that? Then here’s a reminder. This sort of thing will happen more and more from now

on.”

“Even more?!”

“What else?” Matthew smiled faintly. Looking at that smile, Blanca’s heart suddenly hammered. Then

Matthew continued. “What else do you think I need you for?” To support him on all those scenarios, of

course.

Blanca was fresh out of tears, but luckily enough, the commentary had turned around.

Blanca rubbed her aching ankles and looked at Matthew. “Can I make a request, Mr. Grant?”

Matthew put his documents down and said firmly, “No.”

“Why?”

Blanca’s delicate brow furrowed and she looked at Matthew with a bit of pique. The man was acting

more and more like an overbearing boss now!

“Do you need money?” Matthew took out his wallet from the table and extracted a black card. He set it

on the table, then pointed at it. “This is a credit card with no limit. It’s good anywhere.”

“I…” Did he think she wanted his money?

Blanca couldn’t help but roll her eyes.

She lazed back on the sofa and peered at Matthew from her perch on the armrest. Her gaze flickered

about like a rabbit’s, turning around in their sockets, and Matthew set his paperwork down.

He suddenly understood what lust meant.

“It’s not enough?”

He’d just finished when Blanca returned the card to him. She might have been poor, but wealth wasn’t

everything!

It certainly couldn’t buy everything, right?

So Blanca decided to appeal to pathos. “If I go out there and work, it’d prove to others that Mr. Grant’s

wife isn’t incompetent, wouldn’t it? Aren’t you proud of how upstanding I am?”

“Proud?” Matthew narrowed his eyes like he’d just heard an absurd joke, his noble aura leaking out. “Of

my woman needing to go out and work?”

“…I can’t argue with you.”
