Chapter 64 Ask Me Directly
Chapter 64 Ask Me Directly
Only then did Blanca see that the person who’d come in was Curtis. The assistant had several
icepacks with him. Blanca took them, and seeing that Curtis wasn’t leaving, she was a bit confused. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“Is there anything else?”
“Madam…” Curtis frowned. How was he supposed to say that Lisa had waited before his door today for
a whole day and had him plead her case for her?
“Nothing. Mr. Grant just wants me to remind you to be careful next time.”
“Oh?” Blanca blinked and pointed at the ice packs. “He had you give this to me?”
“Yes. Mr. Grant cares about you a lot, madam.”
Huh? He cared about her? She couldn’t see that at all…
They’d been married for barely a few days and she’d suffered more than she used to. Blanca grimaced
resentfully. Seeing that Curtis was about to leave, she recalled something and hurriedly asked, “Right,
Mr. Irwin, I’ve got a question.”
“Please go ahead, madam.”
“Who is that Elizabeth Harris lady?” There was no reason not to know who did it after you got hit.
Blanca was grumbling inside.
“Well…”
Curtis was in an awkward position and getting ready to speak when the office doors were suddenly
opened.
“Want to know? Ask me directly.”
It was a familiar, low and pleasant voice that could only have belonged to Matthew.
Blanca swallowed and suddenly felt like she’d been caught in the act or something. She stood bolt
upright from the sofa. “W-what are you doing back? Aren’t you in a meeting?”
“Oh? Since when I need your permission to go where I wanted?” Matthew wore a teasing expression
as he walked over slowly.
He was so tall that Blanca felt something was caught in her throat, blocking passage.
Curtis had left the room already. Matthew suddenly took Blanca’s hand. His fingertips shine slightly
through the skin.
Blanca was about to struggle when Matthew spoke. “Want to know who Elizabeth is?”
“I-I was just asking!” Blanca retorted.
Matthew nodded thoughtfully. “Okay. I wouldn’t have told you even if you asked me, anyway.”
“…” Blanca smiled and kept her manners. Then Matthew took up the icepack and touched it to her face
suddenly!
She hissed. It was cold.
Blanca flinched and her eyes met Matthew’s.
His pupils were like the brightest stars in the night sky, and she couldn’t look away. There came a rap
on her forehead. “Looked your fill yet?”
Blanca’s ears went red and found that her cheek didn’t quite hurt so much anymore. She bit her lip and
made a noncommittal noise.
“Blanca…”
Matthew was about to say something, but a sudden buzzing interrupted him. Blanca took out her phone
hastily, looked at the display, and saw that it was the old man.
She looked dubiously at Matthew.
He was as inscrutable as ever. Blanca took the call.
…
Two hours later, Matthew and Blanca appeared in the Grant mansion. This was her third time here, and
Blanca was still very careful. If anything she was more cautious than ever, for no other reason than that
Carrie and Louise were in the house!
But seeing the luxury car stopped in front of the Grant house, Blanca was still curious.
They were entertaining guests?
