BAD BLOOD
A loud sound was heard as the glass Layla was holding unconsciously fell from her hands into the sink, she was still registering what he had said to her when Nolan turned her around and carried her up making her seat on the kitchen counter.
Layla’s heart was racing as Nolan lifted her up and set her down on the counter. His gaze was intense, and she felt a thrill of excitement run through her.
“Are you sure about this?” he asked, his voice low and husky. Layla couldn’t speak, so she just nodded.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
“Okay,” he said, his eyes never leaving hers. “I’m going to kiss you now.” Layla closed her eyes, her heart beating so fast she thought it might burst out of her chest.
The kiss was soft and gentle at first, and Layla’s body melted into Nolan’s. But then the kiss deepened, becoming more passionate and intense. Layla felt herself losing control, swept away in the moment.
She wrapped her arms around Nolan’s neck, her hands buried in his hair. He pulled her closer, and she felt herself falling deeper and deeper under his spell.
She felt herself drifting away on a sea of sensation, lost in the moment, and she didn’t want it to end.
He wrapped her legs around his waist as he carried her up from the counter, going straight into his room.
***********
Carla yawned walking out from her room, she looked around the room but not a single soul was around.
“Where are they?” She asked herself as she didn’t see Layla nor did she see Nolan around.
It was almost nine in the morning and they were still not out of their rooms.
She knew they stayed in different rooms because last night Layla slept in a completely different room from Nolan and that actually made her very happy as she slept like a baby. Both of them didn’t even sleep together.
She knocked at Nolan’s door calling out his name.
“Nolan are you in there?”
Nolan and Layla who were asleep inside the room was woken up by her incessant knockings.
Nolan stirred in his sleep, the sound of the knocking filtering through his dreams.
Slowly he opened his eyes and he blinked a few times, trying to clear the fog of sleep from his mind.
He slowly removed Layla’s hands that were around his waist and he sat up.
His face wore a frown as he looked around the room trying to figure out what had woken him up. Then he heard it again – the knocking at the door.
He looked beside him and saw Layla who was also woken up because of the knock.
She remained on the bed as she felt too shy to sit up, they were both naked and she was more than embarrassed, so Nolan would take care of it himself. The person at the door would be no other than Carla, but what did she want?
Layla felt a jolt of fear run through her body. “It must be Carla” she informed her heart racing for some strange reason.
‘But what would she be doing here?’ she thought.
Nolan shrugged, a tired look on his face as he collected his trousers that were lying not too far from the bed. The room looked messy as if it just survived a massacre.
Layla paused, her thoughts racing. Why was she scared? She wasn’t sure. She was definitely worried or embarrassed maybe.
Carla knocked on the door again as she called. “Nolan!” she wondered what was taking him so long.
“Are you going out!” Layla exclaimed, holding Nolan’s arm as she stopped him from leaving.
“Yes, why?” He asked.
“Umm… ummm” Layla began to stammer.
“Carla is outside and you know we’re tog…” her voice trailed off as her face fanned red.
“How’s us being together our problem?” He questioned completing the statement for Layla.
“It’s just that..” she drew out.
“Can you hear yourself?” He stood up from the bed heading straight to the door. Then realization hit Layla, why was she scared? Her and Nolan were originally couples, so there was no need to be tense, she was not doing anything bad.
Layla watched him for the door feeling her nerves settle a bit as he put on his clothes. Finally, Nolan reached for the handle, turning it slowly as he opened the door.
The door swung open and Nolan stood in the doorway, wearing only a pair of trousers. His hair was disheveled, and he looked like he had just woken up.
“Why are you disturbing my sleep so early in the morning?” he asked with a groggy look on his face.
“What’s up?” Carla shifted her weight from one foot to the other, unsure of what to say.
“I, um…” she stammered. The look of his bare upper body made her face warm up.
“I just wanted to see how you were doing.”
Nolan’s eyes narrowed. “I’m in my room and when did you start looking after me?” he asked.
“It’s too early to be disturbed..” he said, running his hands through his hair.
“It’s nine already?” She informed.
“It’s Saturday, spill Carla, what do you want?” He grilled as Carla frowned.
“I saw no one around and I couldn’t find Layla either. Whatever, do you need a cup of coffee?” She asked replacing the frown on her face with a wide smile.
It was actually an advantage for her that Layla was not in the house. Her day would definitely go well today, it’d be just her and Nolan.
“I don’t want coffee and Layla is inside..” Nolan responded as Carla froze. She looked like someone who just swallowed a huge bone and it got struck on her throat.
“Inside whe…re?” She asked again to be sure of what he just said.
“Inside my room” Nolan replied and Carla’s face suddenly turned pale. She thought they slept in different rooms, she was feeling so happy a few minutes ago now she felt so angry, so angry to the point that she didn’t mind spilling blood.
