Chapter 53 What Can't be Learned
Chapter 53 What Can't be Learned
She puts on her apron and is going to cook for Lucien Gray but she hears Lucien Gray lying on the
sofa saying, “Do you really think you’re a daughter of a well-to-do family? You work very slowly. Are you
lazy on purpose?”
Lucien Gray used to be ruthless but he never bothers Nina Morrison about trifles of life. Now Nina
Morrison is responsible for the hygiene of the apartment. He is critical of her work.
He looks at the handrail of the stairs she has just wiped and his brow frowns, “It’s not clean. You go and
wipe it again!”
When Nina Morrison finishes cleaning the stairs and just wants to take a rest, he says, “Clean under
the carpet.”
Since Nina Morrison began to live in this apartment, he hardly ever goes to the company. A lot of things
are dealt with online.
Nina Morrison feels very painful. Every day she lives under Lucien Gray’s eyes and is criticized by him.
It’s like that Nina Morrison owes him a debt.
Nina Morrison is busy every day. She cooks and cleans the house over and over again.
Strangely enough, she does so much housework but she doesn’t feel sick. The baby in her stomach
seems to be very sensible to stay in her mother’s stomach. She has no severe pregnancy reaction.
A few days later, when Lucien Gray comes back from the company, he brings back a thick menu and
hands it to Nina Morrison who is squeezing fruit juice. “Learn the dishes on this menu. I’ll invite some
friends over for dinner in a few days.”
Nina Morrison takes over the menu and immediately feels vexed. This recipe is very thick. There are
Chinese and Western food, cold dishes and desserts. There are all the dishes in the restaurant on the
menu. Sushi steak braised snails, dessert, stewed vegetables, noodles served with bean sauce, dry
pot, soup pot, mandarin duck pot. There are many dishes she has never heard of.
Nina Morrison looks at the menu and bites her lip in embarrassment. “This is too much. In a few days, I
can’t learn it. Otherwise, you might invite your friends to a restaurant. I’m afraid I’ll make you awkward
because I’m not good at it.” NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
“Here’s a recipe. You can’t miss it.” Lucien Gray’s eyes are cold.
“There are too many dishes for me to learn in a short time.”
“Think of your own way! If you can’t learn it, your father’s operation will be cancelled.”
Nina Morrison stands there. Her head bows and she lets Lucien Gray scold her. Her shoulders are so
thin.
Lucien Gray’s eyes are cold. He reaches out and takes back the recipes. He takes out a few of them
and throws them to Nina Morrison. “Are these easy? In the evening, I’m going to have small steamed
buns and pancakes.” After that, instead of looking at Nina Morrison, he goes upstairs.
Nina Morrison looks at the recipes he has left behind. Obviously he has considered it. These
ingredients are available in the kitchen but most of the practices are complex and can not be learned
casually.
It’s really worrying. Nina Morrison can’t make buns. She has to follow the recipe and start making
dough. As a result, she does not master the scale well. The dough is either too dry or too wet. She is
busy all the morning but she doesn’t even pinch out the shape of a steamed bun.
It’s time for lunch. Lucien Gray comes downstairs on time with a magazine. He goes into the kitchen
and sees Nina Morrison kneading the dough. He is discontented, “Why haven’t you cooked yet?”
“I’m cooking but I’m afraid you can’t eat steamed buns at noon.” Nina Morrison wipes the sweat off her
face. She stands all morning and is exhausted.
“Then do it again in the evening! Quickly take out the other meals.”
Nina Morrison has been kneading the dough without making any other food. She blushes and washes
her hands in a hurry. She quickly cooks a simple meal.
