Pursuing My Ex Wife in Full Blooming Spring

Chapter 303

Naomi gently knocked on the door, tapping twice. Soon, the door to the sick room opened, revealing an unfamiliar woman.

Naomi spoke softly, "Hello, I am-"

Before she could finish, the middle-aged woman said, "Ms. Goodwin and Mr. Ward, right?"

It was evident that Sean informed her about Naomi and Charles.

Naomi nodded with a smile. "Yes."

The middle-aged woman continued, "Come in. Mr. Johnson told me that someone would come to see Ms. Reed in a while. I knew it was you."

"Alright, you can rest. I'll stay here," she said.

"No, Mr. Johnson told me to take good care of Ms. Reed," the woman insisted.

Naomi heard this and her smile deepened. Sean was concerned about Amelia.

"Okay," Naomi agreed.

She did not say more, afraid of waking up Amelia. The middle-aged woman left, closing the door softly. Naomi approached the bed and looked at Amelia. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

A small night light illuminated the bedside, clearly showing Amelia's face. She looked less spirited than before, fragile and with a pale complexion. It seemed she suffered quite a bit. Carefully, Naomi reached out to touch Amelia's forehead, intending to check her temperature. Unexpectedly, as her hand touched Amelia's forehead, she woke up.

"Naomi."

Seeing Naomi standing tenderly by the bedside, Amelia was a bit slow to react at first. However, once she did, her eyes turned red.

She was on her own, suddenly falling ill, with no family around.

In such times, when friends rushed from a distant place to visit, she would surely be moved.

Amelia was deeply moved. She reached out to Naomi, wanting a hug. Naomi, sensing her distress, bent down and embraced her, gently patting her back. "It's okay, it will get better."

Amelia, usually a cheerful and strong person who rarely cried, found herself collapsing emotionally in Naomi's arms. Despite her resilience, she could not hold back the tears now that she was held by Naomi. Naomi, momentarily taken aback, blinked and continued to console Amelia with light pats. "It's okay, I'm here."

In truth, comforting people was not

Naomi's strong suit, especially not someone like Amelia. Yet, as she listened to Amelia's cry, her own emotions were stirred, and her voice became softer and more soothing.

Charles stood there, watching Naomi. She gently reassured Amelia, "It's okay, I'm here."

However, Naomi's eyes betrayed a hint of tears, and quickly blinked them away.

Seeing Amelia cry like this made her uneasy. Amelia cried for a long time. as if releasing emotions pent up for years. Naomi, unfailingly, continued to hold and comfort her, maintaining her bent posture, repeating the monotonous words until Amelia cried herself to sleep.

Charles left the room, inquiring about towels and a washbasin for Amelia. She just cried for a long time and needed cleaning up. The caregiver promptly brought in hot water and towels.

Naomi tucked Amelia in and took

tissues to wipe away the tears on her face. Seeing the caregiver bringing hot water, Naomi

whispered very softly, "I'll handle this, you go rest. I'll take over tomorrow morning." Content

Naomi's intentions were clear, she intended to stay and take care of Amelia. The caregiver, observing Amelia's teary and red-eyed state, nodded and quietly left. Charles remained, not leaving.

Naomi suggested, "Charles, you should go back. We'll meet again tomorrow morning."

Charles glanced around and saw that toiletries were available, but they were limited to Amelia and the caregiver, not including Naomi's.

It was evident Sean intentionally omitted Naomi's items, allowing him to personally prepare these things.
