In the next morning, after a lot of discussions between themselves, the four beasts decided to inform

Ming Yue about Ling Mao's transformation, her Seer ability and her divination. The moment Ming Yue

saw Ling Mao's transformation, she fell in love with the child. How could she not? Ling Mao was soooo

driver, Mr. Yang was focusing on driving the black Bentley. Ling Mao was sitting on her lap, in her cat

form.

Grandpa Wu bought a new car for Ming Yue and hired a trusted driver, Yang Lixin to be Ming Yue's

private driver. Yang Lixin also served as a bodyguard for Ming Yue, so wherever Ming Yue went, Yang

Lixin also followed. At first, Ming Yue refused to have a bodyguard, but Grandpa Wu said it was

necessary for her to have one. He didn't want Ming Yue to be insulted by anyone anymore. Of course

Lin Shao and Lin Zhao agreed to Grandpa Wu's suggestion but when Ming Yue told them to have

bodyguards for themselves, they refused right away. Ming Yue scowled at her siblings while they

grinned from ear to ear. In the end, Ming Yue gave in and let Grandpa Wu spoiled her. The feeling of

Yang Lixin glanced at Ming Yue and the black cat on her lap from the rear mirror, his face didn't show

any expression but inside, he was quite surprised. When he was hired by Elder Wu, Yang Lixin was

strictly ordered not to tell anything he had heard nor seen to anyone. At first, Yang Lixin was confused,

thinking that the person who he would work for was a troublesome person, but after hearing the

confidential information given by Elder Wu himself, the 26 years old man didn't quite believe it.

A young girl who could see ghosts and had guardian spirits by her side. It was something that out of

this world but seeing the serious expression on Elder Wu's face, Yang Lixin hid his skepticism and

agreed to the contract. Now, seeing the young girl called Wu Ming Yue spoke to the black cat on her

lap and how the cat spoke in return, Yang Lixin finally understood what Elder Wu was talking about.

Arriving at school with private car, Ming Yue became the center of attention right away. Other students

already knew amout Ming Yue being adopted by Wu family, however they didn't think that Ming Yue

would get this special treatment, as if she was born as Wu.

Ignoring the stares and acted like the usual Ming Yue, she turned around and spoke to Yang Lixin "Mr.

Yang, are you going to follow me to the classroom?"

"Yes, young miss. I will stood near the door and wait for you." Yang Lixin answered politely.

"I see. I hope it doesn't put you in awkward position." Ming Yue commented, thinking that the man

would likely wanted to stay at the car instead of waiting in front of her classroom.

Nodding, Ming Yue walked away, entering the school while Yang Lixin parked the car and followed her

after. Ling Mao walked beside Ming Yue and she stayed outside when Ming Yue entered the

classroom. Qing Xu Lin glared at Ming Yue the moment she entered the classroom, which was ignored

by Ming Yue. She already knew the reason why Qing Xu Lin gave her deadly glare, probably because

she saw that Ming Yue arrived using private car. However, Ming Yue didn't care about her nor scared of

her glare. Jealousy and hatred.. if these two feelings were combined as one, it would slowly deteriorate

a person's sanity. Ming Yue could only hope that Qing Xu Lin would not do anything stupid and if she

DID do something stupid, as long as the target wasn't her, Ming Yue would ignore her completely.

The bell rang and the lesson started as soon as a teacher came. While Ming Yue seriously listened to

the lesson, Ling Mao sat on the floor next to Yang Lixin who stood near the door, his hands were

behind his back while his legs slightly parted. Standing side by side, Yang Lixin couldn't help but

throwing glances at the black cat from time to time. Ling Mao was oblivious to Yang Lixin's action

because her mind was occupied by sensing her surrounding. Along the way she didn't pick up any

signs at all but the uneasiness she had when entering the school building, grew slowly.

"You can talk right?"

A man voice could be heard, filled with uncertainty and anxiousness. Ling Mao turned her gaze toward

the source of that voice, gazing at Yang Lixin who met her gaze with his.

"I can." Ling Mao spoke to his mind and hearing a cute voice of a little girl in his mind, Yang Lixin

almost choked himself when he drew a sharp inhale. "I can speak both in your mind and using my own

mouth, is there something?"

"Well.." Yang Lixin looked nervous before continuing, "Um.. My name is Yang Lixin."

'Ugh! Can I be more stupid?! Why introducing myself?!' Yang Lixin cursed inwardly.

"Oh, I am Ling Mao." The cat replied shortly.

"That.. Your are one of the guardian spirits that guards young miss right? Elder Wu informed me all

about young miss's information." Yang Lixin said.

Actually he felt silly for trying to start a conversation with a cat but since the cat itself has reason and he

was quite bored waiting here, so why not, right? Yang Lixin justified his stupid action by convincing

himself in that way.

"Guardian spirits? oh! you must be talking about the heavenly beasts." Ling Mao replied in honesty. "I

am not one of them, I am just My Lady's servant."

".....Heavenly.....beasts?" Yang Lixin said, looking dumbfounded.

Beasts.. The cat just said beasts right? Not animals but 'Beasts'?!

Yang Lixin was quite flustered and Ling Mao who was oblivious to his reaction, continued as if nothing

happened.

"Yes, they are four guardians of Heavenly Palace. Lord Bai Hu, the Mighty Tiger of the west, Lord Qing

Long, The Honorable Dragon of the east, Lady Zhu Que, The Noble Phoenix of the south and Lord

Xuan Wu, The Wise Black Turtle of the north. They are--"

*COUGH!* *COUGH!* *COUGH!*

Coughing sound cut Ling Mao's words and she who was in the middle of talking finally paid attention to

Yang Lixin's reaction. Only one thing flashed in her mind and that was 'Confusion'.

"Are you okay?" Ling Mao asked, confusion was clearly shown on her cat face.

"Cough! Y-Yeah.. I am good.." Yang Lixin said, tried to calm himself down. The moment he heard the

word Tiger, Dragon, Phoenix and Black Turtle, Yang Lixin was chocked by his own saliva and coughed

hard. Well how could he not? The cat clearly said it like that! Suddenly he felt that guarding the young

miss Wu Ming Yue was harder than he thought.

"Th-That.. um.. You're not joking... right?" Yang Lixin asked carefully, paying attention to any lie that

could be seen on the cat's face but he only saw... CAT FACE..

The naive Ling Mao answered truthfully, "Of course not! I won't joke about the four heavenly beasts. I

don't want to be punished by Lord Qing Long, he is quite a strict person."

"Q-Qing Long.. uh.. The uh... dragon, right..? Th-the dragon is.. uh.. strict..?" Yang Lixing asked

carefully.

"Yes and--...!!" In the middle of her words, Ling Mao stood, alertness was seen on her cat face and

soon the whole building shook a few times before black stain started crept on the walls. Eerie screams

could be heard here and there, Yang Lixin practically took his gun out.

"What happened?" Yang Lixin asked and suddenly door of all classrooms were opened, including the

one that near him. As students ran out of the classrooms in panic, along with the teachers, Yang Lixin

wanted to enter the class and took Ming Yue with him but Ming Yue was already out. Among the rush

of panic and screams, Ming Yue stared at Ling Mao.

"Mao Mao, what has happened? I feel a huge negative energy surrounding the school building." Ming

Yue asked, her eyes glanced around only to see that many students were in panic seeing how black

stain covered the walls here and there and teachers who were trying to calm the panic students.

"I am sorry Master! I didn't realize that magic arrays had been placed!" Ling Mao said.

"Magic Array?" Asked Ming Yue while Yang Lixin paid attention to the surrounding. However he didn't

miss the conversation. His brow twitched slightly hearing what Ling Mao said.

"Yes, this is quite a high level Magic Array, it's called 'Anying Zhi Di'! It's a formation that demons use to

trap the target and send it to specific space. Anying Zhi Di means Shadow Land, so this place is

already in the land of shadow!" Ling Mao explained.

"Land of shadow, is it dangerous?" Ming Yue asked as she stared at the black stained wall, however

the answer was something she had expected.

"Shadow Land is a place where many ghouls lurk and--"

Another screams erupted and Ming Yue didn't need to know the reason because in front of her,

something came out of the black stain wall. It was the ghoul that Ling Mao mentioned. It started from

hand, legs soon bald head and sharp ears could be seen, along with fangs and red bloodshot eyes.

Yang Lixin felt goosebumps all over his body the moment he saw the scary creature and hearing what

the cat said, it must be the 'Ghoul' thing. Lifting his hand and pointed the gun, Yang Lixin was about to

shoot but Ming Yue's voice stopped him by spreading one arm to the side.

"Silver Moon!" Ming Yue shouted and a sword with crystal blade appeared on her hand out of thin air.

As Ming Yue lunged at the ghoul, she shouted "Bai Hu!"

A huge white tiger appeared soon after while Ming Yue blocked the ghoul attack and spun around to

cut ghoul's head, separated it from the neck. The ghoul soon turned to ash "put barrier on each

person!"

"Yes, Master!" Bai Hu's eyes glowed in blue color and soft wind breeze enveloped all the people inside

that building, preventing the ghouls to prey on them. Of course he also created a barrier for Ming Yue,

Yang Lixin and Ling Mao.

While the students and teachers were confused of a sudden wind breeze enveloping them, Ming Yue

didn't care who or what people saw, she could take care of it later but resolving this problem was her

main priority. Luckily the ghouls kind of obstructing the view even though it wasn't much. Ignoring Yang

Lixin who was stunned and stood frozen, Ming Yue turned her gaze to Ling Mao

"Mao Mao, can you create magic array to transport all the people into specific place in this building?"

"I can but it will take a while Master, where do you want it to be?" Ling Mao asked,

"Assembly hall, come I will show you the way!" Ming Yue said and was about to run but Yang Lixin who

had snapped from his frozen state, grabbed her arm.

"Wait, young miss! I will come with you!" Yang Lixin said and seeing Ming Yue didn't say anything, he

pressed even more.

"I know I won't be any useful but guarding you is my job." Yang Lixin said, the tone he used filled with

determination. He knew the fact that this supernatural thing was not his forte but still, he wanted to do

his job right. No.. he wanted to be part of this battle.. It had been a while since his blood raced, filling

his heart with excitement as he put his life on the line.

Finally Ming Yue nodded as she turned around, facing her back to Yang Lixin. "Stay close to me and.."

Ming Yue paused before continuing, "I am leaving my back to you."

Yang Lixin's lips curled up, "Yes, Young Miss!"

This incident marked the first battle Ming Yue had in this life time. Ming Yue herself didn't know that

because of this incident, she would encounter many more battles in the future that led many eyes from

demon realm and hidden realm to focus on her.
