"No!" Helen interrupted her directly. "The way you love someone may change, but the look in your eyes doesn't. She leaned back on the pillow again. "Mom. I'm not going to take the fall for her. You should give up." "You, you are... so irresponsible." Selena stormed off, clutching her bag in anger.
Helen watched her back sorrowfully as she left, so determined with not a single glance back. She was exhausted, and for the first time, it wasn't Yasmine she resented. She closed her eyes, feeling a chill in her heart, for her mother had changed, and so had her brother.
"What? Suicide?" Yasmine was stunned, her eyes wide open upon hearing the news of Yvette's suicide. She couldn't believe Yvette, someone who valued life so much, would actually attempt to end hers.
Morgan calmly said, "After being discovered by the people from the psychiatric hospital, they were immediately rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Now, the entire Flynn family is at the hospital, except for Yvette"
Yasmine nodded in understanding, as she knew all too well Selena's obsession with her grandson. Perhaps Selena just wanted Helen to take the blame. "We need to pick up the pace," Yasmine said. If they initially had some time to gather evidence, Helen's suicide would certainly prompt Xavier and Yvette to prepare in advance.
After making her plans, Yasmine didn't expect to receive an odd package in the afternoon. It was sent by an anonymous person. Upon opening the package, she found a set of car keys along with a small note. "Drive the car to the Luxury Lane Villas and park it in the Flynn residence garage."
No need to guess who sent the car keys; it had to be Helen. After her attempted suicide, she must have given up.
Yasmine didn't wait long and handed the car keys directly to Morgan to retrieve fingerprints from the steering wheel of the car in the garage.
The process went smoothly, and the fingerprints extracted belonged to Yvette and Helen. At least this fingerprint indicated that Yvette had interacted with the car. Morgan even found a car wash receipt inside, dated the day before the incident. This fingerprint report perfectly illustrated that Yvette encountered the car during that period.
Yasmine went to observe the surroundings of Luxury Lane Villas to see if there were any surveillance cameras. She pulled
up
the footage from the back door and found images of the car entering. The person sitting in the driver's seat was clearly Yvette. With a stoic expression, Yasmine copied the video and printed out a few photos that clearly showed her face. Before the next day arrived, Yasmine called Yvette to arrange a meeting time. Feeling assured, she went to sleep. All rights © NôvelDrama.Org.
Sitting in the café, Yvette nervously held onto her iced Americano. She wasn't sure why Yasmine had asked her here, but she had a hunch it was related to the villa incident. Sure enough, Yasmine walked in from the entrance shortly after, sat across from her, and ordered a coffee with a calm, composed smile on her face.
The two sat face-to-face, awkwardly avoiding eye contact. Finally, after a moment of silence, Yasmine broke the ice, "Ms. Grant, do you know why I asked you to meet today?"
Yvette shook her head, clenching her hands together tightly beneath the table. "I don't know, what's up?"
"Are you just playing dumb or are you actually clueless about why I asked you to come over?" Yasmine's tone was sharp; she had no intention of putting on any polite facade.
Yvette probably didn't expect her to be so blunt, but she still shook her head. "I really have no idea what you're talking about."
Yasmine couldn't be bothered to waste words with him and dumped a pile of documents from her bag onto the table before 14:12 Mon. Oct 20

Finnian said, "It was Yvette who found Grady and asked for help. Not just Grady, but our entire family agreed because of him... Initially, she had Grady find Mr. Lynch's car and deliberately crashed into it, then went to the hospital for a neurological assessment, leaving the Lynch family with no chot but to swallow this bitter pill. I thought it would end there. but her target wasn't the Lantz family at all-it was you..
Finnian continued, "You know what happened after that. The woman showed up after you went to the villa area. She hid in the bathroom and listened for a long time... His voice was hoarse yet authoritative, as if he was replaying that day all over again. Yvette listened, her face turning pale as she took a sip of coffee, nearly dropping the cup. Her voice trembled, "I don't know what you're talking about, this has nothing to do with me: Those words are just rumors and slander!"
Yasmine sneered, "Yvette, take a good look at everything in this file bag. It's not just this one recording. After seeing these, do you still dare to lie to my face?"
"I have no idea where you got these, but they're all fake, not me Yvette suddenly stood up from her seat.
Yasmine leaned back lazily against the chair, looking at her with disdain. "So if you don't plan on owning up, I'll hand these over to the police. Whether they believe it or not is none of my concern."
Yasmine, you got these pieces of evidence to hand them to the police, didn't you? So why are you here talking to me?" Yvette's heart raced. She knew if Yasmine really handed everything over to the police, she'd definitely be arrested. Everything would be over for her! She looked at Yasmine with bloodshot eyes, "What do you want?"
"Hah, don't you know what I'm after? All I want is the truth. Tell me, was that whole incident planned by Irene?" Yasmine stared intently at Yvette.
After what felt like an eternity, Yvette finally spoke, "I can't say." She collapsed into her seat, feeling helpless. She knew what Irene was capable of. Speaking up might mean the difference between ending up in jail or facing Irene's wrath.
"If you don't want to speak, fine. I'll just send all this over, and it won't be me asking the questions then," Yasmine said sternly
"No!" Yvette stretched out her hand to stop her. If Yasmine handed everything over to the police station, she'd definitely be taken away.
Yasmine's eyes were distant and cold as she glanced over, "Then talk."
Yvette let out a deep breath, "It's no use. Even if I tell you, it's pointless. There's no evidence, nothing at all. All the evidence points to me as the culprit." She hesitated, "If I say it, will you let me go?"
