Chapter 23 Mrs. Newman Does Volunteer Work

Chapter 23 Mrs. Newman Does Volunteer Work

They walked into Dean Lane's office as they were talking.

“Angel, how have you been these years?” Dean Lane poured tea for them.

Angel took the tea, sat up straight and smiled. “Dean Lane, I think you want to know why I become

different.”

Dean Lane was embarrassed.

Angel said, “Five years ago, I was in a car accident. I was very close to die out of it, but when I woke

up, my mind became normal. My brother took me abroad, so I studied abroad and am back to work

home.

She looked at Dean Lane with clear eyes.

Dean Lane took her hand and said in delight, “Good, Angel!”

Angel nodded and said firmly, “Yes, Dean Lane. I will come here often.”

“Good, good! Belle must be very happy if she were alive. She used to say you were a good girl, but

trapped, maybe one day you would suddenly sober up. It is true.” Dean Lane's eyes were red and he

was almost in tears.

She sighed lightly, “She was a nice person.”

Angel turned her head away, with her fingers bent slightly.

“After Belle left, the children here are very sad. Although these children are disabled, and even some

are mentally ill, but, they are good people. They like you, miss you. Do you remember Sammy and

Miller?” Isabel asked.

Angel nodded. “Are they all right?”

Isabel shook her head. “They didn't make it. They died two years ago.”

Angel was silent and took Dean Lane's hand.

Alexia quickly diverged from the topic and asked Isabel about the orphanage in detail.

Alexia had good impression on Isabel. After a few words, she decided to support the orphanage.

Angel got up and walked out.

She knew this place well.

Soon she saw that thin figure.

She was helping the teacher to teach the children to draw pictures.

She was wearing a gentle smile and patient to the children.

Angel looked at her through the window, silently and greedily.

This was where she found her spiritual ballast.

The servant that Dean Lane said must be Rosa.

Angel looked up to keep the tears from falling.

Unexpectedly, the best person in the world to both of them was Rosa, a servant of the Newman family,

who treated them like a family member.

“Angel?” Behind her came Dean Lane's voice.

Angel took a deep breath and turned her heard.

Dean Lane looked inside Sofia and softly asked her, “Do you want to see Sofia?”

Angel shook her head gently, “No, if she can keep such a quiet life, Belle will rest assured. I'm afraid it

will make her sad if she sees me.”

Dean Lane was silent.

“I will often come, but I will avoid her, so as she won’t be sad. Dean Lane, if Sofia has any incident,

please let me know timely.”

Dean Lane nodded, feeling that Angel had a point.

Mirosi Restaurant.

Alexia looked at Angel, who was in a bad mood. “Angel, I didn't expect you and Belle to do volunteer

work here before. I found that Belle had a great influence on you.”

Angel smiled wryly, “Belle just did what she could do. She took me here because she wanted to me be

normal one day. She seemed to be living outside the rich family, but no one cared.”

Belle and Angel, in fact, were the same in heart.

In their hearts, everything was good.

“Angel, since this is an unfulfilled wish, you can go ahead and let me know if you need any help,

whether it is money or goods.”

Angel said softly, “Thanks, aunt.”

“You are welcome.” Alexia took Angel's hand.

“You and Dean Lane talked about Belle, and I think I can offer help to the orphanage. Belle took you to

here, so you became normal. You don't know how your brother and I felt when you were hurt. We wish

we could worship all the gods and Buddhas just to give you back to us.”

Alexia took a long sigh, “I had never been so afraid, so had your brother. At that point, all the doctors

said you could be saved because you were seriously hurt.”

Alexia picked up the cup and took a sip of water, “At that time, your brother fought alone abroad with

the aim of success. If he failed, he may not be able to keep everything your mother left. By that time,

you had an accident, but he came back.”

Alexia sighed, “Angel, your brother loves you. He has his reason to keep an eye on you. You should

understand him.”

Angel felt the weight of a heavy stone crushing her breath.

‘Angel, we had to live a good life. I won't let those who love you down!’

“Aunt.” Angel spoke softly.

“Here, try this soup. It's good.” Alexia said to Angel.

Angel picked up her spoon and took a sip.

“Angel, do you want to visit the Newman Family? Our two families have known each other for many

years. I'll come with you if you want to.” Alexia asked.

Angel shook her head slightly. “No. When I woke up, my brother went there with me once. After only

three months, they put all Belle’s things away and changed her room into a study.”

Angel's voice became cold.

“They said they were afraid of Mrs. New would be sad to see Belle’s thing!!”

Alexia frowned, “If it is the truth, they can change a house. Why did they change her house, as of they

wanted to erase the trace of their daughter.”

Alexia seemed to be talking to herself.

But Angel's heart was tearing.

Alexia sighed, “It was said that Mr. Newman loves Mrs. Newman, but I didn’t see it from Mrs. Newman

today.”

Angel raised her eyebrows. “What does it feel like when you're in love?”

“It's not like her anyway.” Alexia couldn't find the right adjective for a moment.

Angel's hand holding the fork froze.

Alexia said, “I have only seen Sofia several times, but after Belle died, she seems to live like a Walking

Dead with no soul.”

Angel asked, “What about the rest of the Newman family?”

“The others?” Alexia was stunned.

Angel nodded. “The rest of the Newman family.”

“Oh, the Newman family is very simple. Charles has only two daughters, the elder sister is two years

older than the younger sister.”

“Belle has always been a sensible good girl. Anna is a smart girl; she is now helping Charles with the

business of the company. I heard that she was admitted to M University of postgraduate. And she is

very great and the standard of a wife of a rich family.” Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

“If your mother were still alive, she might ask your brother to marry her. Such a kind and capable

daughter-in-law is the standard model for the wives of wealthy families.” Alexia was joking.

“Don't do that. Other my brother's life will be ruined.” Angel blurted out.

Alexia was stunned.

“My brother wouldn't like an arranged marriage,” said Angel. “Doesn't she have a fiancé? Why are they

not married?”

She quickly changed the subject.

Alexia shrugged, “After Belle died, the family was sad, and Mrs. Newman was seriously ill in bed. Anna

had to help Charles do business, so the marriage was delayed.

“However, William is spoony. Under the pressure of his family, he stayed with Anna for many years. I

think they will get married soon.”

Angel didn't believe a word of it.

Alexia took a look at Angel, “I heard that Belle liked William, and had fought for him with her sister. Do

you know that?”

Angel shook her head. “That's impossible. Belle would never fight with her sister about anything, no

matter how much she liked it. Even if she liked it, as long as Anna wanted it, Belle would give her

without hesitation.”

Alexia was stunned, “What?”

Angel sneered. “In the Newman family, younger sister should never fight with her sister. It's a rule for

Belle. If Belle showed any disobedience, Sofia would be first to punish her.”

Alexia widened her eyes, “How is that possible? Was Sofia crazy?”

Angel picked up the glass and took a long sip of water.

Belle learned to self-healing at a very young age about any grievance.

Because she loved her family.
