Chapter 64
This woman is crazy!
This was Jesse’s only thought at the moment.
He let go and instead held Nydia, pressing her against his chest to prevent her from moving.
“Are you done making a scene?”
“Let go of me!” Nydia struggled, not hearing the helplessness in Jesse’s tone.
“Fine, I’ll show you!”
The woman in his arms stopped moving, seeming a bit dazed.
Jesse could feel her blink, her long lashes brushing against his chest and making him feel a bit itchy. Her breath was hot against his skin, making it damp.
Earlier, his shirt had been ripped open, and Nydia’s face was now directly against his chest without the barrier of the shirt.
“Let me go,” Nydia’s voice was no longer as manic as before, much calmer.
“Are you done being crazy?” Jesse didn’t immediately let her go, but instead wanted to confirm.
“Who’s crazy? I’m not!”
As she moved, Jesse instinctively held her tighter, causing her lips to press fully against his skin. The soft touch caused his body to tense up, and he unconsciously arched his body. And since she wasn’t wearing a shirt, his hands were pressed tightly against her waist, and as he squeezed her slender waist, Jesse’s eyes suddenly darkened.
He finally let go of her.
Nydia, finally free, breathed heavily, her face covered in sweat, blushing.
She glared at Jesse, but he didn’t meet her gaze, turning his head away. If one looked closely, they could see that his breathing had become a bit rapid, and his ears were tinged with blush.
“It would have been better if you had just done that earlier. Why did you have to fight?” Nydia saw that her wrist was very red and painful, Jesse had used a lot of force when he grabbed her wrist.
She also touched her forehead, “hiss,” it hurt!
Seeing her like this, Jesse’s expression softened a bit.
She went around to the back to see behind Jesse, and sure enough, there was blood seeping through the bandage, and quite a bit of it. This called for a reapplication of medication and a fresh bandage. Vincent and the nurse had already shown them how to do it themselves at home. After all, it was hot outside and continuously bandaging the wound would not be conducive to its recovery.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
“I’ll redo your bandage,” she said to Jesse.
Jesse didn’t say anything; the events that had just transpired had left him unsettled. Nydia had changed so much that he didn’t know how to interact with her anymore. In the previous few years, he hardly needed to interact with Nydia. She would keep her distance, provoke him in various ways, and never get close to him, let alone be like she was just now.
“Hey, why don’t you stand up?” Nydia kicked the wheelchair, not very hard, but forgetting that she was wearing slippers, she kicked her toes and had to endure the pain without touching them. Her toes curled up, and her face showed a painful expression.
Jesse complied with her request and got up from the wheelchair, sitting on the bed.
Taking advantage of the opportunity, Nydia observed him. Jesse could walk, but his gait was not normal. His left leg seemed to bear most of the weight, indicating that his right leg was likely more seriously injured. How could someone like him accept walking like this? He would rather sit in a wheelchair. That was why almost everyone thought his legs were useless and he couldn’t stand up because he hardly ever walked in front of people.
Nydia took off his shirt, ruining another shirt. The shirt was already stained with blood, and Jesse, being who he was, would never wear it again.
She carefully removed the bandage, revealing the wound on his back. As soon as she saw it, her eyes welled up with tears. There were dense little wounds all over his solid back, and most of them were seeping blood. The blood flowed down along the line of his spine.
When her fingers touched the skin on his back, Jesse’s back tensed up, and there was a brief tremble.
“It’s going to hurt a bit, so bear with it,” she said apologetically.
