Reborn Before The Divorce

Chapter 75

“What acting?” He asked knowingly.

“When you helped Willette accuse me, I was wondering why you were helping Willette, Jesse. I couldn’t see it at first, but your acting was really good. But I caught on and went along with you,” Nydia said.

“Smartass,” Jesse said only that, but his tone was strange. It didn’t sound like a cold accusation, but rather like his bluff had been called by Nydia.

Nydia’s expression changed instantly.

“Wasn’t it all an act? Were you really helping Willette? So… do you still have feelings for her? Did you want to divorce me to marry her? When you said Barclay and you weren’t brothers-in-law yet, was that just to prepare for you and Willette in the future?”

She said these things with tears in her eyes, staring at Jesse with a look of suppressed sadness and hurt, which only made her more pitiable.

“What nonsense are you talking about?” Jesse’s brow furrowed even more.

“You said I was a smartass, didn’t you?” Nydia was even more aggrieved, clutching the armrests of the wheelchair and lowering her eyes, looking like rabbit about to be abandoned.

“If I want to be with Willette, what’s it to you?” Jesse’s tone was impatient.

“Oh, I see. So you like me,” Nydia said, raising her head to reveal a pair of eyes full of laughter. Her almond-shaped eyes reflected his face, which looked particularly bright, and even his expression wasn’t so gloomy anymore.

In that instant, he felt dazzled, but he didn’t want to look away.

She seemed to notice the laughter in her eyes growing even more pronounced.

“Nydia, your acting is really good,” Jesse said, his face cold.Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

“…” Isn’t your acting better?

Nydia suddenly stood up, her hands spread apart on the armrests of the wheelchair, approaching him.

Jesse was trapped in the wheelchair with no room to retreat.

Their lips were only one centimeter apart, the hot air they exhaled mingling together. If she leaned forward just more, she could touch Jesse’s lips.

But Nydia turned her head, approaching his ear, her soft lips touching his earlobe. He had already reached out to grab Nydia’s waist, but it was too late.

At the moment when his ear bone was pressed, it felt as if a strong electric current ran through his whole body. He heard a clear voice in his ear, “Jesse, tit for tat.” She retreated, looked back with a smile, charming and enchanting, like demon who wanted to wreak havoc in the world. Jesse’s heartbeat was pounding wildly as if he had just realized something, like thunder.

Nydia went back to her bedroom and lay down on the bed, feeling completely drained of energy. She was really in pain, just lying there was already painful, let alone moving. When Jesse pinched her waist earlier, she looked down and saw that it was red. It would probably turn bruise soon.

She didn’t really understand what Jesse had done today, but she was too lazy to guess. This man was too difficult to figure out. She had planned to check the news and arrange the things she needed to do next, but she fell asleep while looking at them.

Molly and Tavish were surprised when they came back from school and didn’t see Nydia. “Emma, where’s mommy?” Molly asked.

“She’s resting in her room. Don’t go bother her now. Call her when it’s time for dinner,” Emma replied.

Although Molly and Tavish didn’t know what Nydia had experienced yesterday, they knew it must not have been a good thing, so they didn’t want to disturb her.

When it was time for dinner, Molly went in to call her, but no matter how many times she called, Nydia didn’t wake up. She reached out her hand and touched Nydia’s face, and was startled. “Daddy, daddy, mommy’s so hot!”
