Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled

Chapter 92

Chapter 92

I gently patted Stella’s head, “Cut the crap, Stella. I’ve told you before that I’m not into your brother.”

Stella rubbed her head, arguing back in a huff. “How can you be so sure you don’t like him? Trust me, my brother is a catch. If you guys get together and he dares treat you badly or looks at another girl, I swear I’ll beat him up myself!”

Simmons was indeed a catch, be it his family background, looks, or character, he’s top–notch.

If only love could be forced, I’d give it a shot with him.

But I simply can’t, and I don’t dare to try if we were to give it a shot and then find out we’re not a match, we’d have to break up, and that could affect my relationship with Stella

After all, that was her brother. Unless I’m 100% certain, I don’t want to give it a try

“Stella, stop meddling in my affairs. I’ve been married before, but you still don’t have a boyfriend. You should focus more on your own future,” I swiftly changed the subject. What type of guy do you like? How about a stable civil servant? I can ask my dad to keep an eye out for you”

As soon as we started talking about her future, Stella seemed a bit down. Her eyes started to dari around, “Forget it. I just want to live freely, Marriage would only tie me down.”

Suddenly, her phone rang. She glanced at the caller ID, looking a bit guilty. She scurried off to answer the call and then came back to tell me, I’ve got plans for drinks. Gotta run!”

“Don’t drink too much,” I warned helplessly.

“I know!” Stella grabbed her bag and left.

After she left, I went upstairs to continue packing. Before my court appearance, I wanted to move out of Sterling Estates to show my determination.

I had so many clothes and accessories that they filled five suitcases. I also packed my cello and some sheet music.

While sorting through the sheet music, I opened an old wooden box Inside was a song I had composed myself, filled with hidden feelings for Neil. I once eagerly wanted to play it for him, but he refused.

The box also held a transparent glass bottle filled with colorful paper stars that I had stayed up late to fold for Neil. On each paper, I had written Neil’s

name.

At the bottom of the box was a preserved rose, the only flower Neil ever gave me. We weren’t married then, and my parents had invited him to my birthday party. He didn’t prepare any gifts. He just plucked a decorative rose from the cake and gave it to me.

It was a gift without sincerity, but I had treasured it all these years.

I closed the box and put it back, then continued packing. Among the items I found were an unfinished scarf, a half–drawn necklace design, and a faded crystal bracelet..

My naive crush and my deep feelings now were the same. Those innocent emotions showed that I once tried hard to pursue him.

Sighing, I put these items back where I found them, not intending to take them with me.

After slowly sorting everything out, the next morning, I had the maid help me move the suitcases to the car and drove to another property under my name. It was a single apartment that I had bought before marriage. I lived there for a while during college but hadn’t stayed there for a long time.

All the furniture and appliances in the apartment were covered with dust cloths, but the place still smelled dusty. I didn’t clean it myself. Instead, I hired a cleaning company to do it.

When the cleaning crew arrived, I asked them to clean the apartment as quickly as possible. There were five workers in total, so the work was done quickly

Three hours later, the apartment was sparkling clean, and I started to organize my clothes in the bedroom.

Just as I finished, my phone rang. It was Neil.

Did he already know that I filed for a divorce?

I answered the phone, puzzled, and heard Neil’s cold voice, “Irene, what kind of game are you playing?”

“What are you talking about? Did you receive the notice? I was impressed with the court’s efficiency. Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

“Stop playing dumb I could hear the anger in Neil’s voice, “If anything happens to Bonnie, you won’t get off easy!”

What happened to Bonnie? Wasn’t this supposed to be good news? | filed for divorce, so she could openly be with Neil now.

Neil had already hung up, and I was still confused Thankfully, Stella called and excitedly explained, “Wow, big news, Rena! Your mother–in–law found Bonnie and met with her!!”

I was shocked. What was going on?

Stella told me, “Apparently, your mother–in–law found Bonnie through an earring. After they met, Bonnie left crying. Now Neil can’t find her and doesn’t dare to directly go to her fearing that her parents

would find out and make her even more upset.”

So Neil didn’t meet with Dean that day?

I remembered the earring my mother–in–law had found in Neil’s car on her birthday.

Just because of an earring, she had found Bonnie

Was this the formidable style of a wealthy family? I thought it was great. Since Neil and Bonnie were truly in love, why not expose the obstacles early on? In my past life, they entangled me for a year before telling me the truth. In this life, only a few months had passed, and they had openly declared their love, saving a lot of time

1 see, but Stella, how did you know all this?” still had the mood to ask this question.

heard it from someone.. Anyway, be careful. Nell is a tough one. He might take revenge on you, I suggest you seek protection from your mother–in–law +soon!” Stella warned me a few times before hanging up.

I pondered for a while, didn’t immediately call my mother–in–law to ask about this, and just turned off my phone to rest.

The apartment was clean, but it lacked some necessities and food. So, I drove to the supermarket and bought a lot of essentials.

After preparing a simple meal, I ate while turning on my computer. There were several missed calls two from Neil, two from Russel, and one from my

father.

I first called back my dad, who I thought was clueless about Neil and Bonnie’s thing But to my surprise, he was so furious on the other end of the line, his voice almost breaking. That scumbag Neil! I thought he had turned over a new leaf, but no, he’s gone and hooked up with some college girl, and this time he’s serious about it. Rena, did you have absolutely no idea about this? How could you let him get away with this?!”

“Dad“I lost my appetite, and as I was feeling anxious I said, “I actually knew about it and was already preparing for a divorce with Neil, so I didn’t bother with him. You and Mom don’t need to worry.”

“What the hell does he take you for? After all these years you’ve been married to him, what have you gotten out of it? Your mom and I can’t accept this. I’m going to give him a piece of my mind!” My dad was so mad he was about to blow a gasket
