Chapter 162 Take Her Home

Everyone's heart shot upwards into their throats as the voice came out of Jacob's mouth, and the

young man's brows furrowed.

Jacob put down the gun, a flash of admiration in his eyes. "Not bad. You're a man, but his life can't be NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.

replaced by anyone."

With that, he went toward Frank, but at that moment, Frank quickly raised his gun and aimed it at

Jacob's forehead.

"Don't move!" Several guns were aimed at Frank from all around. It turned out that Frank had been

biding his time.

"I'm just a worthless man. If my life can exchange for Mr. Hill's, it's not a loss." A rare smile appeared

under Frank's mask.

He looked at Avery with his deep eyes as if saying, "From now on, you're free."

Frank knew very well that the moment he fired, bullets would come at him from all directions, and there

was no way for him to escape.

Avery was dumbfounded. She had never anticipated this sudden turn of events.

She had only known Frank for half a month, so how could she allow him to die for her?

"No! Don't shoot!" Avery ran towards the two of them frantically.

Frank's gun pointed at Jacob's forehead, but Jacob showed no sign of fear. Instead, Jacob's shining

eyes were filled with excitement and craziness.

"Or, we can make a bet. Who do you think will survive?"

Avery shouted, "Frank, don't shoot! Please don't shoot!"

Once the gun was fired, no one knew what consequences would follow. The only thing she could be

sure of was that it would definitely be a tragedy.

Before Frank could shoot, Avery had already stood in between the two men.

"If you make a move, you'll have to kill me first."

Jacob frowned, very displeased with Avery's sudden intervention. "Take her away."

Avery rushed over and hugged Jacob, warm tears falling down on his neck. She trembled and

whispered, "Stop! Please stop! I agree with all your demands. I won't escape anymore. I really won't.

Please let them go."

The petite woman in his arms shook uncontrollably, tears streaming down her face. The chilly sea

breeze blew on his face, waking his senses for a moment.

Seeing her cry so pitifully, Jacob felt his heart being pricked, and there was no joy, only endless pain.

It seemed like it had been a long time since he had seen her smile.

"Am I holding on to her to seek revenge, or is it my possessiveness acting up?" he wondered.

Regardless of the reason, at least he didn't want to see her cry anymore.

He asked in a soft tone, "Do you really understand your mistake?"

Avery tugged at his coat, her disheveled hair flying in the wind, tears in her eyes as she nodded

repeatedly. "I do. I really do."

His slender fingertips tucked the stray strands of hair behind her ear, and his eyes carried an unusual

tenderness. "Then as you wish."

Avery looked at him in disbelief and thought she had heard him wrong.

Jacob bent down to pick up Ethan and reached out to Avery, the sea breeze lifting his clothes, with a

few strands of hair slipping down in front of his forehead.

The sunlight cast a soft glow on him, and she saw gentleness in his eyes.

"Am I dreaming?" she wondered.

Avery didn't dare to question his thoughts but quickly placed her hand in his palm.

As their fingertips touched, with a slight force from him, she fell into his embrace.

"Let's go home," he said coldly, bursting Avery's bubble, and she had no choice but to follow him.
