Chapter 109
ELAINA'S POV
Athena. I could recognize his voice. The voice of the wolf from eighteen years ago.
Like always, he was here to support me and help fight off those that tried to bully me. I saw him when Alpha Atlas appeared at the door. Like he protected me, Alpha Atlas protected Emma. I was beginning to see the similarities between Alpha Atlas and the young wolf in my memories who stood by me when I thought I was all alone.
"Mom," Emma screamed as soon as she noticed that something was wrong with me. I tried to answer her, but I could not. I had gone completely numb and paralysed, both physically and emotionally..
Atlas shook me, but I did nothing but move as he moved me.
Then, everywhere suddenly became dark.
I opened my eyes to see myself on a bed and a middle-aged physician standing beside the bed. "You're finally awake," he said and I tried to sit up straight. I could move now. I was happy to know that I was no longer... Trapped in my memories.
"Ah," I voiced out to check if my vocal cords were working to and it was good to know that everything was okay now. "Are you hungry?" The physician asked and I nodded. I wanted to eat something. It felt like I had not eaten in ages.
He made a phone call and in less than ten minutes, food was brought to me.
"What about Emma?" I asked after eating.
"Emma?"
"Yes, Emma my daughter and-"I paused. My mind went back to when Alpha Atlas made an entry to that coffee shop. "Alpha Atlas. What about Emma and the Alpha?"
"They are fine. Since you ask of them, I will go ahead and ask them to come in," the doctor said and froze. I was ready to see Emma, but the Alpha? I doubted.
I was grateful for how he stood up for Emma, but I still felt weird around him and I won't blame myself. He rejected me earlier, so why was he still acting nice to me.
to reject me. If that was the case, he should have told me, instead of rejecting me and then, Perhaps, he had a valid reas acting nice like we just had a drink a few hours ago.
"You said you have another name. What is it?" He asked again.
"I just had a silly dream," I replied. The memories I saw might not be real after all. I really hoped it was not, because those memories were sad memories. Nobody should be treated the way Athena was. I hoped she was not me and that I was only making things up. "And you don't want to share?" Emma asked. Alpha Atlas looked at her and shook his head a little in disapproval.
He turned back to me. "If you don't want to share, then don't. If you know it will be too triggering, you can keep it to yourself."
His voice was soft and the Alpha I was seeing now was completely different from the one that rejected me. Why was he suddenly nice to me? Then, I remembered that I had not told him about the wolves that tried to poison him yet.
"Alpha Atlas, what did you eat today," I asked. I could hear the concern in my voice.
He cocked an eyebrow. "Are you hungry?"
I shook my head. I decided to just go straight to the point. "I am not. Do you remember when you confronted the two wolves that were harassing me the last day I worked for your mansion?"
"I do. What is wrong? I thought I have taken care of me." Alpha Atlas frowned. "I think I remember when killing them."This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
"Yes, you did. I just forgot to tell you a very important information."

I looked at Emma. "Go and get yourself sweets," I said to Emma and she happily left the room to get the sweets I asked her to
get.
"They wanted to poison you. The kind of poison they wanted to use is the slow and deadly type. You won't know that you're being poisoned. You will look okay until you die. That was their plan, but I heard it and I was about to tell you. They caught me and you came to my help. Unfortunately when I woke up, I heard you saying something that made me feel bad, do I left and forgot about telling you what I heard. I did not do it on purpose. It just skipped my memory." "Well, it's good that I know now." Alpha Atlas had a poker face on, so I could not tell what he was thinking.
"And," He continued. "I am sorry about what you heard. My parents wants me to get a Luna fast and what I said was what came to mind. Contrary to what I said, you're worth it and I did not mean every thing I said."
flashed him a smile. It felt like he was saying the truth and it warmed my heart. Then, my face darkened. "You might have killed the wolves who tried to poison you, but you have not killed the person that sent them. You, infact don't know who it is." Alpha Atlas still had his poker face on. "I will find out who it is and teach him a lesson or two."
"And what about now?" I asked, scared that whoever wanted the Alpha dead would send another set of people to kill you Alpha. I wonder if I was scared, because he was a good Alpha or because I was somehow beginning to develop a soft spot for him.
"Calm down," He said. I knew the calm outlook he was showing was just a cover up. There was nothing to be calm about. "I would find out if I have taken anything harmful soon. I just have to inform the physician."
I could not help but wonder who tried to kill the Alpha. He obviously had a lot of enemies, but this seemed like the work of an insider.
"Who do you think would have done this?" I could but help but ask
