Chapter 719 Sophia Agrees
"Yes," Sophia said without hesitation.
"After we get back, you cure Drake, and I'll go file for divorce right away."
"But as far as I know, both parties need to be present for a divorce. How can you do it alone?"
Sophia smiled. "That's for people without power. With power, there's nothing I can't do."
"Alright then, let's go!" Brandon confirmed and went back to his room to pack up his things.
But when he saw that Emmie hadn't moved yet, he turned around and looked at her. "Aren't you going
to pack your things and come with me?"
Emmie pouted and seemed reluctant to leave. But Sophia patted her shoulder and said with a smile,
"Go ahead; we'll wait for you!" Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
Emmie didn't know how Sophia did it - she completely ignored her father's unreasonable demand as if
it didn't matter at all.
After the two of them came out together, they drove in the direction of home.
For Sophia, everything went smoothly until they arrived at the hospital where she made a request
before entering, "I have a favor to ask; after you guys enter, don't mention that I agreed on getting
divorced."
"Don't worry, Dr. Glass; once Drake is successfully treated, I will tell them quickly without delay."
Brandon understood her concerns well, saying, "Okay, got it."
Paul had been following behind, feeling miserable about not being able to help in any way.
As soon as Brandon appeared, Emma saw him, while Baron only knew someone was coming but
wasn't sure who exactly would show up.
However, when Baron saw Brandon, his face filled with anger, and he asked, "Why is he here? What
does he want?"
When Brandon locked eyes with Emma, there seemed to be mixed emotions involved but when looking
directly into Baron's eyes, his expression turned disdainful.
"If your daughter-in-law hadn't come pick me up, do you think I would come here to save your son?"
"What?" Baron couldn't believe what he heard, asking incredulously, "Sophia brought the doctor here
herself? And that doctor is him?"
Everyone remained silent.
But Baron had already understood.
"Okay, I was wondering why you were all keeping this from me. So it's him. No matter what, my son
cannot have him as his doctor."
Emma couldn't say much and could only hope that Sophia could handle the situation.
Sophia walked up to Baron and said, "Baron, we don't have time now. Why are you still dwelling on the
past grudges? The doctors are doing their best to keep Drake alive. Yet you refused to let Dr. Glass
save Drake? Are you trying to kill Drake?"
"I certainly don't want Drake to die. Is there no one else in this world who can treat him?" Baron's
attitude was resolute.
Brandon interjected, "Don't worry. Anyway, I wasn't even planning on treating him in the first place.
Since that's the case, I'll just leave!"
As he spoke, Brandon turned around to leave.
Sophia quickly stopped him and said, "Dr. Glass, don't mind my father-in-law. Just go inside now; I'll
take care of things here."
"What is there for you to take care of? Since he doesn't want me to go in anyway, then I won't treat his
son," Brandon's strange temperament surfaced again.
Of course, Sophia understood what he meant - he wanted Baron to apologize - but with how stubborn
Baron was being, an apology seemed impossible.
Sophia couldn't force Brandon either; even if she forced him into the room, he might just watch by.
Laura and Abbott both spoke up, "Baron! What time is it now? You're still saying these kinds of things!
Do you want your son to live or not? Fine! If you don't care about your son, then so be it! If anything
happens with our son-in-law, we won't let this slide!"
"That's right!" added Abbott, "I'll make sure every day will be difficult for you!"
Baron did feel threatened by his in-laws' words
Emma who had been quiet said, "Baron, I know what bothers you, but I believe that deep down, you're
not someone who cannot see the whole picture. Furthermore, do you really think Dr. Glass came here
willingly? It must have been because Sophia promised something. Do you really want her efforts to be
in vain?"
Her words were reasonable and heartfelt which made Baron think carefully before responding, "Fine, I
agree for him to go inside."
Brandon replied coldly, "You're letting me go inside? Well, I'm not going."
"You!"
Baron was about to be driven crazy.
Sophia walked up to him and said, "Dad, apologize!"
"What? I have to apologize to him?" Baron couldn't believe it, but looking at Sophia's eyes, he finally
said, "Fine, I'll apologize!"
Baron apologized to Brandon and he went inside.
Perhaps because everyone's attention was focused on him just now, no one noticed Emmie.
Now that they saw her, everyone looked puzzled.
"Sophia, who is this..."
Emmie recognized Emma at a glance. Although she had never seen her before in person, for some
reason she just knew that the woman her father liked was her.
"Auntie," Emmie greeted Emma politely. "I'm his daughter and my name is Emmie."
"Emmie!"
Everyone understood immediately.
Baron shouted, "No way! I'm going to get him out and kill him!"
"That's enough!" Emma yelled.
Baron looked at her in confusion.
"Do you really not want your son to live?" Emma asked sharply.
"I don't like the idea of only he being able to save my son," Baron grumbled.
Sophia nodded in agreement. "That's right. Among all the people we know now, only he can save
Drake."
Some words were stuck in their throats and couldn't be spoken aloud.
Baron slammed his hand heavily against the wall.
"Dad," Sophia said calmly. "Maybe it is destined by fate. Don't worry about it too much. Back then, you
stole Emma from Dr. Glass, yet now he's still wiling to treat Drake without holding any grudges against
us. Can't you just let it go?"
Baron shook his head helplessly, "It's just frustrating when my son has to be saved by my love rival."
Laura walked over: "Maybe as Sophia said, this is fate, we should accept it!"
What else could they do?
After waiting for a while, Sophia went into the bathroom. When she came out, Laura was already
waiting outside for her.
"Mom!" Sophia called softly with flickering eyes.
