Chapter 126 Nicholas Agrees to a Divorce
After Nancy finished speaking, Nicholas suddenly raised his head. He gazed at her and asked, “Are you sure the reason you want a divorce is not because of another man?”
Nancy couldn’t help but chuckle at his assumption. What makes him think so? “So, you’re jus! unwilling to let what was once yours become someone else’s one day. Look, Nicholas, that’s just possessiveness.” He has never loved me.
“Just cat.” He picked up a spoon and scooped some congee, bringing it to her lips to change the topic. Damn it! I really don’t want to discuss the topic of divorce with her now.
“I don’t have the appetite.” She turned her face away, not even looking at what was in the bowl. Right away, she pulled the blanket up and hid herself in it, wrapping herself into a cocoon.
“Nancy…” When Nicholas said her name, his tone was filled with suppressed anger.
At this moment, he put down the bowl and lifted the blanket, pulling Nancy out of it. “Eat.”
“I said I don’t want to.” After saying that, she got off the bed with her bare feet.
Perhaps in her haste, she suddenly slipped and began to fall to the ground. Fortunately, Nicholas was quick to react and caught her.
“Let go of me.” Without hesitation. Nancy pushed him away and then hid under the blanket again.
“Come out,” he ordered as he looked at the lump on the bed.
Still, she clutched the blanket tightly, ignoring him.
After several rounds of tug of war, neither one yielded nor loosened their grip.
In the end, Nicholas gestured to a helper who brought over a cup. After he took a big sip, he stood up, and in one swift motion, he lifted the blanket and pulled Nancy out.
“Nicholas, I said I don’t-”
Before she could finish her sentence, her mouth was suddenly sealed by him. Immediately, something incredibly sweet slipped into her mouth.
Realizing what happened, she couldn’t help but curse at him. “You’re such a jerk!” Did this psycho feed me glucose? Nancy felt that Nicholas had gone mad, for that was definitely not a method that a
sane person would come up with. “You’re downright insane, Nicholas!” She glared at him.
As for Nicholas, he casually wiped his mouth and looked at her. “You haven’t eaten all day, and your body lacks nutrients. Since you won’t eat, I can only use this method to provide you with nourishment. Now, Nancy, it’s your choice. Either you eat, or I continue to feed you this way.”
“You’re a maniac… An absolute maniac! I won’t choose. Why should I choose? I won’t choose
either. Get away from me.” Furious, she tried to push him away.
However, that push gave Nicholas another opportunity. Swiftly, he pulled her into his arms, took another sip of the glucose, and then proceeded to feed it to her.
“No-” Nancy resisted wildly, but it was futile as the glucose continued to flow into her stomach.
After that, he used one hand to hold both of her wrists, preventing her from struggling, and the other to hold her chin, feeding her all the glucose. In the end, the entire bottle was emptied into
her.
When he finally let go, she was on the brink of tears. She frantically started hitting him. “You’re a jerk! Why are you treating me like this?” Tears flowed incessantly from her eyes, drenching her face as she wept bitterly.
Suddenly, a wave of nausea hit Nancy. She covered her mouth and ran frantically to the bathroom.
Soon, she vomited all the glucose she had just consumed, leaving nothing behind.
By the end, it was greenish water. When Nicholas entered, Nancy had just vomited a mouthful of blood. Instantly, her mouth was covered in blood.
She stared at her reflection in the mirror, disbelief written all over her face. Is that blood? Did I just vomit blood?
“Sweetie, are you okay?” Nicholas was genuinely shocked when he saw Nancy vomit blood.
After he cleaned her up, he immediately carried her back to the bed. This time, she quickly wrapped herself tightly in the blanket.”
Despite that, she still felt extremely cold. It was as if a chilling sensation was continuously emanating from her body, incessantly spreading throughout her whole being.
Nancy shivered uncontrollably, her lips quivering. Even if she wanted to speak, her teeth chattered, and she could talk only sporadically. “N-Nicholas, I’m… so cold. P-Please help me… g- get warm.”
She genuinely felt like she was completely cold. It was as if there was no warmth in her at all.
Nicholas held her tightly, and they both slipped under the blanket, with additional layers of blankets placed over them by the helpers. Nonetheless, her body kept trembling beneath the
blanket.
“Call a doctor now.” After saying that, Nicholas gave Lynn a call. “I remember that Samuel is returning on a flight today. Go to the airport to pick him up and send him to my house.” All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.
“But Mr. Sallow, didn’t you say there was no need to pick him up?”
“Nancy is sick. Go pick him up now. Let him take a look at her.”
“Yes, Mr. Sallow,”
Under the blankets, Nancy continued to shiver. Her whole body was freezing, and cold sweat was forming on her forehead. Her clothes were soaked through rather quickly, creating a large, wet patch.
“Prepare some warm water,” Nicholas ordered.
When the warm water was ready, he carried Nancy into the bathtub. With the warm water surrounding her, her body gradually regained some warmth and temperature. But very quickly, she realized that Nicholas was in the bathtub with her.
“Y-You can leave.” Blushing, Nancy pushed him away.
“Sweetie, stay still. You’re still sick. I have to stay with you.”
Yet, Nancy shook her head stubbornly. “No, you don’t have to. We’re getting a divorce, Nicholas, You can’t do this. You can’t treat me like this. Please, I’m begging you. Can you leave?”
As she spoke, tears streamed down her face, and her already pale face became even paler. Eventually, Nicholas relented. He left the bathtub, instructing, “Come in and bathe Mrs. Sallow. Change her clothes too.”
“Yes, Mr. Sallow.”
After taking the bath, Nancy felt somewhat relieved.
However, as soon as she emerged from the bathtub, she experienced a dizzying sensation that intensified. She struggled to stay upright, but she ultimately fainted when she attempted to dress.
One of the helpers shouted in panic, “Oh no, Mr. Sallow! Mrs. Sallow has fainted!”
“What?!” At once, Nicholas carried Nancy back to the bed, holding her tightly while urging. “Where’s the doctor? Why haven’t they arrived?”
“The traffic is congested, Mr. Sallow. The doctor you asked for and Dr. Gray are both stuck in
traffic.”
Nancy’s body, however, was growing colder. Although she had just bathed, she felt as cold as if she had been pulled from an icy lake.
“Sweetie, hang in there, okay? You wanted a divorce, right? I promise that as long as you get better, I’ll let you go. I’ll respect your decision. I’ll let go. I won’t hold you back anymore, okay? Just get better.” Nicholas held her hand, his heart pounding with anxiety.
