Shattered Illusions: Love, Lies, and Redemption

Chapter 729

Lizetta clearly understood the veiled threat in Stella's words, a slight frown creasing her forehead.

She had been in a terrible state of mind at the time, too impulsive for her own good. It had been broad daylight, the scandal was huge, but afterward, the West family and the police hadn't come looking for her. There had been no whispers or rumors online or offline. The whole incident had been quietly squashed, and Lizetta knew it was all thanks to Remington's efforts.

Hearing Stella bring it up now, Lizetta's eyes flashed with a cold light. She laughed, cutting Stella off, "Ms. West, if you won't kneel and apologize, then how about a drink to make amends?"Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Lizetta turned, walked over to the liquor cabinet, and grabbed two bottles of whiskey, presenting them to Stella and Margaret with a shake. "One bottle each. Finish it, and all's forgiven. That's not too humiliating, right?"

"You're insane! A bottle could kill someone!" Margaret protested urgently. That was whiskey, tough for even a man to handle half a bottle, let alone one each. If they really drank it all, they'd be carried out. Lizetta was being downright malicious!

"If this won't do, and that won't do, then I'm not here to waste Remington's time," Remington chimed in, clearly out of patience, and turned his head to give an order. "Call Mr. Smith and President Miller, let them come over and figure out how to take their daughters back."

Bringing Martin West and Mr. Miller into the mix would definitely blow things up. Remington was clearly determined to go to any lengths to support Lizetta and Yolanda. The thought of Martin West's unpredictable temper sent a shiver down Stella's spine. Gritting her teeth, she stepped forward and took the bottle from Lizetta's hand.

"Fine, I'll drink!"

Although Margaret was pampered at

home, if her father found out she

had offended Remington, she wouldn't hear the end of it. Worst case, she might even be sent abroad Margaret looked towards Cassius with tearful eyes, still unwilling to give in. "Cassius, you know I'm not like those socialite women. I can't handle my liquor. Can't you drink some for me...?"

Her plea was met with Yolanda's eye roll, "If Ms. Miller can't handle her drink, then maybe skip it. No need to apologize. I'll just post that video online."

Margaret bit her lip. Initially, she wasn't scared of Yolanda posting the video. Glory Media had a ton of marketing partners; a video like that wouldn't even make a dent on its own. But with Remington's help, it wasn't just about posting a video anymore-it could trend for days.

Finally frightened, Margaret glanced at Cassius again, but seeing his indifferent expression, she reluctantly took a bottle too. "Cough, cough... Happy now?"

After Stella downed her bottle, she

felt like her stomach was churning, her head spinning, every part of her burning. Staring at Lizetta, Lizetta simply raised her hand, "Don't let the door hit you on the way out!"

Stella stumbled out, and Lizetta signaled to the Madden family's bodyguard, who followed Stella. Margaret was carried out, leaving Cassius to approach Yolanda, taking her hand. "I need to talk to you!"

He pulled Yolanda along, her expression livid. "For heaven's sake, your fiancée's being carried out, and you, the scoundrel, aren't rushing to check on her but dragging me around!? I have nothing to say to you."

Yolanda resisted, even attempting to kick Cassius. Feeling the pain from the earlier jab on his foot, Cassius simply picked Yolanda up, quickening his pace.
