She Flash-Married To His Rival

Chapter 255

Moira felt down for a while. Until drowsiness hit her, she managed to rein in her emotions and got up to freshen up.

'Even if it's all pretend, it doesn't matter. After all, she's the leading lady in this Barclay drama!' she wondered.

As inappropriate as it might sound, she had to admit it was pretty effective. Moira's mood instantly lifted.

It was already late. Moira had spent the whole day shopping with Juliet. Her legs were sore. After a shower, Moira climbed into bed and quickly fell asleep.

Maybe it was because Barclay suddenly came back to celebrate Valentine's Day with her, and Moira dreamt about him again.

This time, Barclay didn't accuse her of having wild fantasies but rather said he didn't like her gift. It wasn't appealing to him, and she shouldn't give it next time.

The alarm on her phone kept buzzing, waking Moira up from her dream.

Summer mornings started early. Even though it was only around seven, it was already bright outside.

She stared out of the window for a moment, then suddenly remembered Barclay had to rush over to Citadelia this morning.

Moira, who had originally planned to snooze, realized this and immediately sat up in bed!

Moira rubbed her face, swiftly got out of bed, and went to freshen up.

But she hadn't anticipated walking too fast, and her knee accidentally bumped into the corner of the bed, sending a sharp pain shooting through her. Ouch, that hurt like crazy.

She stood there, feeling dizzy.

Luckily, after the excruciating pain subsided for a moment, it got much better, but her knee was swollen from the impact, and every step she took was painful.

She was perfectly fine just a moment ago, but now she suddenly limped.

Moira thought she'd be fine after freshening up, but to her surprise, as soon as she stepped out, her leg uncontrollably buckled with each step.

Though it wasn't really as dramatic as being completely crippled, she couldn't walk properly.

Barclay's car was already downstairs, and if she dawdled any longer, he'd leave!

'But going out like this, wouldn't it be embarrassing? Ah, whatever, I was sat in a wheelchair in front of him before. A limp won't matter much,' she wondered.

Despite that, Moira tried hard to force herself to walk more normally, even though she had to endure the pain.

She could walk normally, but she had to grit her teeth through the pain.

She made her way downstairs, and Barclay was already at the foyer door.

Moira instinctively called out, "Mr. Covington!"

Barclay turned at the sound of her voice, but unfortunately, just as she released the banister, her knee gave out from the pain, and before she could react, she dropped to her knees.

'Can he just pretend he didn't see me? Can time rewind for a bit? Can I just disappear on the spot?' she thought to herself embarrassedly.

Moira just slumped down on the ground, her face turning as red as a boiled tomato.

"Where did you get hurt?" A deep voice sounded beside her.

Moira lifted her head, her gaze meeting his, feeling incredibly embarrassed. "I'm okay."

Barclay frowned slightly and reached out to help her up. "Why are you in such a hurry?"

"I just wanted to see you off." She said and suddenly caught sight of the tie on Barclay's chest. Her eyes lit up.

Moira looked up, pleasantly surprised. "Is that the tie I gave you?"

"Yeah," Barclay replied, still concerned, "Are you sure you didn't get injured?"

'Can't we just let it go?' she wondered.

Moira felt less embarrassed now

that the topic had shifted, but upon hearing him bring it up again, her

ashed once more. "I'm sure."

"Alright," he replied and glanced at his watch.

Moira understood. "You should hurry, or you'll miss your flight." Barclay looked down at her, his brows furrowing slightly. "But aren't you supposed to see me off?"
