League 136

When Lainey emerged from the ward, she immediately thought something was off with Millie. She cleared her throat before calling, “Millie?”

Millie froze, locking eyes with Lainey’s puzzled stare She then quietly looked down at her stance and realized how awkward she must have seemed.

After a hectic morning, Millie finally had a moment to rest around noon.

She retrieved her phone and accessed her hacking system. To her shock, her Trojan horse had been cracked.

Millie immediately went online to search for Greer Group. Sure enough, they had resumed normal operations.

Millie couldn’t help but wonder which hacker Winson had hired. They were truly skilled.

Just as she was figuring out her next steps, a message from Marvin came through. “Boss, M Base has been hacked, and they’re Winston’s people.”

Millie was drinking water when she saw the text and hearly choked. She couldn’t believe it.

Marvin added, “They even left a message that said–Is that the best you can do?”

Millie: “What the hell? How arrogant! Isn’t this a blatant provocation?”

Marvin: “I’ve looked into it. The hacker’s code name is Viper, and he works exclusively for Winston. He’s in charge of Greer Group’s security. His skills are on par with Drew’s. After our recent attack on Greer Group, going after them again will be much tougher.”

Millie read Marvin’s message with a darkened expression. Tough? Then they should forget about the Greer Group. Why should they focus on the company? They could target Winston instead.

Millie: “Why don’t you just plant a Trojan horse on Winston’s phone?”

Marvin: “Boss, I think we should reconsider this.”

Millie: “No need to think it over. Just go for it.”

That evening, Millie was in the kitchen of the Greer residence, helping Selma with various tasks.

But Selma pushed her away, saying, “Oh, Mills, you don’t need to lift a finger when you’re here. Just go take a seat. Dinner will be ready soon!”

Millie walked out of the kitchen and sighed deeply. The moment she turned, she saw Winston talking on the phone by the floor–to–celling window.

He was clad in a black suit, his tall frame and slender waist exuding a captivating allure. He seemed to sense Millie’s intense gaze as he abruptly turned and locked eyes with her. Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.

She quickly looked away but could still hear him say “Once you find this person, bring them to me. I’ll interrogate them myself!”

Winston’s tone was unusually chilly, and it was evident to the naked eye that he appeared more tired than usual.

“I don’t care how you do it; just locate the person! Do you have any idea how much they’ve cost Greer Group this morning?”

His voice grew increasingly agitated as he snapped, “Even cutting off one of their fingers would be a small price to pay!”

Millie was momentarily stunned. Winston had mentioned severing the hacker’s finger. Suddenly, she felt an urge to ensure Marvin’s fingers were safe.

But why was she even considering this? The hacker Winston hired was incredibly skilled. Therefore, it was only right to postpone the plan to hack his phone for now.

Millie retrieved her phone to text Marvin. She was planning to tell him that the plan to sabotage Winston’s phone required careful deliberation.

However, before she could finish typing, Marvin’s message arrived. It was as if they could read each other’s minds.

Marvin: “Boss, it’s done! In three minutes, Winston’s phone will be useless!”

Millie was at a loss for words. Marvin wasn’t usually this quick to act. What had gotten into him today?

Millie: “What if we were to retract it now…”

Marvin: “Retract the Trojan horse? That’s not an option!”

Millie: “Please take good care of your fingers.”

Marvin thought it over. He assumed Millie had praised him for his efficiency and good work, convincing him that his hands needed extra care.
