Chapter 45

He had always reminded everyone around them both that he didn’t love her.

However, she would always run into his embrace without looking back

Millie lowered her head in exhaustion.

Suddenly, she heard the man beside her say, “Millle, I’m sorry for these past three years.”

Millie turned around to look at him, and their eyes met. Millie smiled and said openly. “Why are you apologizing? It was all because of my insistence.

In the past, she would’ve blamed him for not loving her.

She would hate Joanna for coming between them.

Now that she had fallen, she knew to seek the problems in herself.

The fact that they had gotten to this point was nobody else’s problem. She could only blame herself.

Irony flashed across her eyes.

She didn’t want his reparations.

The doors opened, and Millie walked in.

Winston wanted to come in. However, he was barred outside.

Millie looked up and smiled. She said, “There’s no need to follow me, so please stop here, Mr. Greer.”

nston looked at her calmly and took a step backward.

Millie smiled and retracted her hand.

The doors closed slowly. Winston remained looking at her until she disappeared from sight.

Millie bit her lips and took a deep breath.

They should just stop here.

Millie had just left the hospital when she met Joanna. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.

She wore a pretty pink dress and looked like a little princess.

Joanna scanned Millie from head to toe and asked, “Are you here to see Grandma?”

Millie narrowed her eyes and responded thornily. Do I need to present a report to you?”

Joanna harrumphed and asked, “Why

Snowdrop, we’ll see whether Grandmore you acting so high and mighty? Once I give Grandma the

likes you anymore.”

“Oh? I heard that the black market had banned the Snowdrop yesterday. Had the Lowells acquired it?”

“Of course! The Lowells have never let what we wanted slip from our hands!” Joanna raised her chin and got into Millie’s face. She glared at her and asked, “You don’t know the M Base, do you?”

Joanna narrowed her eyes. M Base? She knew it too well.

“I don’t know. What’s M Base? You know me, Ms. Lowell. I don’t pay attention to these things. I only know the news related to Winston.” Millie blinked and played dumb.

Upon hearing it, disdain flashed across her eyes. She didn’t suspect otherwise. Millie was like that.

Other than things related to Winston, she wasn’t interested in anything else.

“Millie, you’re so out of touch. How could you not know M Base?”

“The famous M is my friend! He got me the Snowdrop!” Joanna huffed proudly.

Millie’s eyes widened. She suppressed the mocking glint in her eye and acted surprised, “Really? Ms. Lowell is so impressive!”

Why didn’t M know that she had this friend?

However, Joanna wasn’t lying. To a certain extent, they were friends.

Joanna didn’t detect the sarcasm in her tone. She asked, “Millie, you will come to Grandma’s birthday celebration, right?

If you flatter me enough, I’ll give you an opportunity to take a look at what the Snowdrop looks like, alright?”

Millie smiled. She said nothing.

Joanna glanced at her and took it as though she was pretending to be happy.

She tidied her appearance and said, “After all, a family like the Caldwells would probably never come into contact with such a precious herb!”

Joanna narrowed her eyes. A family like the Caldwells?

What about them?

Although they weren’t one of the biggest families, they were famous enough.

Joanna said lightly, “Then, I guess should I thank you first, right, Ms. Lowell?” Joanna tilted her head before continuing, “You have to show me the Snowdrop during Grandma’s celebration!”

Joanna’s tone was infused with flattery.

This satisfied Joanna greatly.

Joanna smiled and laughed. “Don’t worry. We were best friends, after all. I’ll definitely let you take a look!”

Coldness flashed in her eyes.

It seemed like she had to go to this birthday celebration!
