Chapter 60
Joanna paused as she was about to unwrap the Snowdrop. She stared as Selma dashed toward the door, feeling annoyed. She could not help but bite her lip in frustration.
What was so special about Millie? Selma could not even be bothered with the Snowdrop upon learning about Millie’s arrival.
The doors of the hall were slowly pushed open, and everyone shifted their gazes to the entrance. Gasps of surprise and admiration could be heard when they saw who it was.
Even Selma was somewhat taken aback before breaking into a smile. Only her precious Millie could be this stunningly beautiful.
Millie was adorned in a silver V–neck mermaid gown, her black hair neatly tied up.
Her skin was fair, with just a hint of her chest peeking through the neckline. The gown perfectly accentuated her curves, highlighting her elegant neckline and defined shoulders.
Millie’s beautiful features were enhanced by flawless makeup. With red lips and alluring doe eyes, she appeared as captivating as a queen.
Gloria, who had been welcoming guests at the door, rushed in. She then exclaimed, “Millie truly looks good in everything! Oh my goodness! I’m enchanted by you!”
The crowd in the hall nodded in agreement and could not stop praising Millie.
“She’s no doubt the heiress of the Caldwell family. Her beauty is out of this world!” someone
commented.
Another chimed in, “She’s gorgeous! I’m sure no one in Yerwick City can hold a candle to her.”
“Earlier, I thought Ms. Lowell was pretty. But now, compared to Ms. Caldwell, she’s quickly fading into the background!”
“Winston sure has good taste in women. I wonder what he did to win over the stunning Ms. Caldwell.”
Selma swelled with pride as she pricked up her ears to listen to them praising her granddaughter– in-
law.
See that? The public’s judgment was clear as day. Millie was no doubt the most beautiful woman!
On the other hand, after being criticized by the guests, Joanna was not feeling as cheerful. Her gaze darkened as she glared at Millie, who was currently the center of attention. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
Why? Why did Millie always have to intervene when she was about to shine?
Joanna bit her lip and clutched the box in her hand tightly. Her fingertips turned pale with the
pressure, wishing the box was Millie instead.
Her hatred for Millie deepened with each passing day.
“Mills, why didn’t Win come with you?”

Selma held Millie’s hand, sadness evident in her eyes. She genuinely did not want to lose her granddaughter–in–law.
“He’s busy, Grandma,” Millie brushed it off with a vague excuse.
In actuality, she had no intention of attending the birthday celebration with Winston. And he, being tactful, had not bothered her recently.
“That’s just an excuse!” Selma huffed. She was aware that the two were quarreling.
“Grandma, today’s your birthday. So, don’t worry about us!”
Millie then took Selma’s arm and guided her to the center of the hall.
Just from this, everyone could tell that Selma truly favored Millie.
When Millie arrived at the hall, she immediatèly rose to greet her personally.
No one among the guests had received such treatment. Even when Joanna arrived with the Snowdrop earlier, Selma merely acknowledged by standing up.
“The CEO of Webson Group, Jake Webson, is here to offer his birthday wishes!” Another
announcement came from outside.
Millie turned slightly to see Jake entering the venue in a black tailcoat.
The corners of his lips were curled up slightly, and he was handsome. At the same time, he exuded an air of rebelliousness.
“Happy birthday, Mrs. Greer Senior!” Jake dashed over to embrace Selma.
Selma gently hit his head in return. Then, as if scolding her own grandchild, she said, “Why haven’t you found a girlfriend yet? You’re giving me a headache!”
Jake’s handsome face fell immediately.
“Mrs. Greer Senior, why are you always urging me to get married whenever we meet?” he complained.

“Why wouldn’t I? You have money and power now. Besides marriage, what else is there to push you for?” Selma scoffed, behaving somewhat like a child in front of Jake.
