However, till today, no one knew that the technique Millie had invented that technique.
“Alright. I’ll take those out after 40 minutes,” Millie said as she covered Rachel with a thin blanket. “Do you have any filming schedules planned anytime soon? I won’t do anything that will leave lasting
marks.”
“Yeah,” Rachel said as she nodded.
She felt sleepy every time Millie did acupuncture for her. Rachel knew that Millie did that on purpose.
Millie knew how little rest Rachel usually got, and she wanted to give her best friend a chance to rest so she could feel more energized.
Everyone else thought that Millie was useless, but to Rachel, she was someone who could heal anything.
Millie lay down on a rocking chair next to Rachel and picked up her phone. She realized that there hadn’t been any influx of new headlines that day.
There hadn’t been a single piece of news after Selma’s birthday party yesterday.
Did no one talk about the Lowell family giving Selma a fake Snowdrop Plant?
Millie narrowed her eyes. She searched “Snowdrop” just to check if anything came up, but the page, that showed up was blank.
It looked like someone had purposely blocked that term from being searched.
It was either the Lowell family who didn’t want to humiliate themselves, or it was the Greer family. It could also be Winston’s doing since he didn’t want Joanna to get attacked.
Millie was worried that Rachel would start worrying about her, so she sighed inwardly instead of out loud.
Joanna was so lucky. No matter how much she messed up, Winston would always help her tidy up the mess she left behind.
Millie put her phone down, not wanting to waste any more time thinking about those two.
She casually toyed with Rachel’s hat and said lazily, “What an interesting hat. It’s connected to a mask.”
“Try it on. If you like it, I’ll buy one for you,” Rachel replied lazily with her eyes still closed.
Millie put it on. It was a hat that was connected to a mask, and all that showed was the wearer’s eyes. If she put on a pair of sunglasses, her face would be entirely covered.
“Can you tell who I am?” Millie asked.
“You’ll know if you go out and walk around a bit,” Rachel said with a chuckle.
Millie thought about it for a while. Since she had to wait for a while longer to take out the needles, she
wanted to experience what it felt like to be a superstar.
“I’ll come back in a second,” Millie said before going outside.
Rachel murmured helplessly, “Millie?” She couldn’t believe Millie had actually gone out. How was she still so playful?
She remembered what Millie used to always say when she first married Winston. She talked about how he liked gentle, obedient women, and how Rachel had to stop Inviting Millie to hang out so that she could change herself for love.
Thus, Millie had really become a different person for the love of her life and became an obedient wife to Winston.
Millie walked out. It was a long, silent corridor.
Occasionally, a waiter would appear and go back to work after just glancing at Millie. Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Millie narrowed her eyes. Did they really not recognize her?
The servers would usually greet her immediately after seeing her.
The corridor was too desolate to be interesting, so Millie made her way to the lobby.
There were a lot of people in the lobby. But even after walking around a few times, no one noticed who Millie was.
After a few minutes of waiting for someone to see her, she began to feel bored and turned around. She was about to take the sunglasses off when someone yelled, “Make way, make way! Mr. Lloyd is having a cramp!”
Millie looked over and saw a man who looked to be about 50 years old being carried toward the couch.
His right leg had turned purple, and he was gritting his teeth in pain as his face turned pale. Millie frowned. It didn’t look like a normal cramp. It looked like a nerve cramp instead.
Millie wasn’t planning to interfere and began making her way back to the private booth.
However, when she walked past them, someone asked, “Isn’t that Dr. Lloyd of Bifrost Hospital?” Did the person mention Bifrost Hospital?
Millie stopped walking immediately. Wasn’t that the hospital Layla wanted her to work at?
