Secretary not Sex-retary

Secretary not Sex-retary

Zoe’s POV I waited for Helios to come out and busied myself with scrolling his phone. I have never used one of these for the time being, so I need to get familiar with its features, and it’s not that hard to memorize or use it. Minutes passed, and he was not still coming out. I heard a growl in my stomach. Then suddenly I remembered that he had ordered food. Guess I need to wait for the delivery. While waiting for more minutes, I saw a person carrying a red square box, and he was heading in my direction. However, two guards stopped him and instructed him that he couldn’t go any further. I stood up and walked towards them and smiled at the guard who turned to see me. “Excuse me, is this the food for Helios Lincoln?” I asked the guy, and he nodded. “I’ll get it,” I stated. He then put down the big red box and grabbed the bag of food tubs inside. The guard on my left reached for it, making me arch my brow. “Hand it over to me—” “I’ll help you out, Mrs. Lincoln,” he said, making my eyes widen. Mrs.? “Thank you for ordering, ma’am,” the guy interrupted my thought, and I smiled at him. He left after that. I turned to the guard and was about to reach the bag when he moved it away. And the other guard gestured the way and said, “After you, Madam.” I shook my head and rolled my eyes as I walked forward. Before opening it, I knocked on the door, and I saw Helios walking toward us. He must be going to open the door. “Here’s the food you order. Maybe we could eat them first?” Helios smiled at me, but there was something in his smile. It’s not that genuine smile that he constantly flashed to me. I know something is wrong.

I glanced at his father and frowned when he darted his sharp glare at me. I gulped and looked at Helios again. “Let’s eat?” Helios nodded. The guard then placed the bag on the table. And they were about to leave when I called them. “Good Sirs, maybe you could join us. The food is too much, and we don’t have a big stomach. So…” Helios held my hand, making me look at him. “Why?” I arched my brow when one man hemmed to catch my attention. “My apology, Mrs. Lincoln, but bodyguards are not allowed to eat with their bosses,” he said. I looked at Helios, and I saw how his eyes smiled, and I knew the reason why. It’s because of the title: Mrs. Since fate enjoys dragging me into the name: Mrs. Lincoln, Huh, why not use it? “Join us. We must not waste food. Now, seat.” “But Ma’am—” “No buts. Just sit down and let’s eat,” I commanded, and I heard Helios's soft chuckle as I walked towards the sofa. The two guards then sat across from us. Then suddenly, I remembered Helios’s father. I then turned to look at him and met his deathly gaze. “Dad—” “Dad…?!” I was startled upon hearing the three repeating my words. “What the hell? You almost pushed my heart out of my chest!” I saw how the two in front of us hid their smiles as they bowed their heads. And when I turned to Helios, he was pressing his lips as if he was holding not to burst. “Who are you to call me, Dad?” I heard Don Lincoln, making me turn to face him. “Huh?” I let out a soft chuckle, “I’m sorry about that. The people inside this hospital thought that I was your daughter-in-law, but long story short, it was a fake one. It’s not real—” “I know the meaning of FAKE,” Don Lincoln replied, making me nod my head.

“All right. Anyway, do you want to eat?” Helios nudged me, making me glare at him. “Dad will eat later. He has his nurse, so we can just eat, hmm?” I glanced at his dad, and the old man’s eyes seem wanting to skin me alive. I smiled at him. “I’m sorry, Don Lincoln if I have to be Helios’s wife for this day. Rest assured… it won’t happen again,” I said and let out a soft chuckle. And when I looked at Helios, he was glaring at me, making me arch my brow. “What?” He shook his head and pulled me to sit beside him. “Just eat and stop talking,” he said, stern and cold. I looked at the two in front of us again, they were busy eating and seems like they were purposely ignoring my glances. After a few minutes, they bowed their heads and left. “What’s wrong with them?” I asked suddenly. “You’re scaring t—” “They’re not allowed to eat with their bosses, yet a stranger like you invited them?” it was Don Lincoln’s voice that made me look at him. “Dad…” I stopped Helios and mouthed, “it’s okay.” I smiled at the old man even though the hairs on my skin were already rosing in fear. “Sadly, I am not their boss, Don Lincoln—I mean Dad. Yes, you’re my dad, for this day only,” I said, with sarcasm in my tune. “If I were you, Helios. Ki—” “Enough with it, father. Let’s go,” he said as he pulled me upward and left the room. Did that old man mean to kill me? “Kill me?” I laughed sarcastically. “He’s a monster then—” “You don’t know that. And I thought you were scared of him? Why are you still talking to him?” he asked simultaneously. I arched my brow as I crossed my arms in front of my chest while we were walking in the hallway. “A little bit scared, but he’s crippled. So...” ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

“So, stop messing with him. And don’t even listen to him. You’re right, he’s a monster, and you don’t know him that well. So, avoid him.” I laughed and unclasped my folded arms. “Avoid? When in fact, if this does not happen, we will be having dinner with him tonight. Right?” Helios pinched the bridge of his nose. “Zoe, please. This matter is not for a joke.” I pouted my lips. “I’m sorry. But I started my day with a joke. You know, pretending to be your wife.” “We can proceed on that—” “No way. And let’s drop about it. Anyway, I will come to work tomorrow and start to be your secretary.” I said and looked at Helios. He bit his lower lip and looked down at me. I frowned. “Secretary, Helios. Not Sex-retary. Strictly, no sex at work,” I said through gritted teeth. He scoffed and shook his head. “We’ll see about that,” he replied and winked at me. What the hell?!
