The cremation has taken place. Hera and her family chose to go home first. Ara calls if Juan is crying hard looking for his mother which is why they have to leave there. No wonder Hera had been away too long to leave the child.

Now Hera, Andrew and Jane are at the Xavier’s mansion waiting for Jane and Jayden to come.

It was so quiet that the owner of the house finally arrived. The three of them immediately stood up to greet Jayden and his mother. But who would have thought that the warm welcome of Hera’s family would actually be met with a hard slap that Jane threw on Hera’s left cheek.

Plakk!!!

Hera fell to the ground. She held his hot cheeks.

“How dare you show your face here after what you did to my family?!” shrieked Jane.

Andrew and Anne helped Hera to her feet. While Jayden held back the mother who seemed to be attacking Hera again.

“What is this, Jane?” said Anne did not accept her daughter being treated like that.

“You’re still asking?” Jane chuckled lightly. “If your clueless daughter hadn’t filed for Jayden’s divorce, I wouldn’t have lost my husband, you know?!” she said full of emotion while pointing at Hera who could only look down with tears streaming down her cheeks.

“You blame my daughter for your husband’s death? Does that make sense?” added Anne looking in disbelief.

“Of course! Whose fault is it again, huh?!”

“Watch your words, Jane! It’s not my daughter’s fault!”

Between the two middle-aged women no one wanted to budge. And if it continues like this maybe a big problem will occur.

“IT’S ENOUGH!” shouted Andrew which finally made the two women silent. He looked alter

nately at Anne and Jane.

“Can’t you guys appreciate the late Elvis a bit? We’re in a state of mourning right now!” Andrew said making them all flinch.

“I know that Jane is very saddened by the departure of Mr. Elvis,” said Andrew, looking at Jane with pitying eyes. “But should you blame my daughter? This is destiny, Jane,” he continued trying to think realistically.

Jane glared at Andrew then chuckled sadly. “Destiny? Have you forgotten, Mr. Andrew. Because of your daughter’s one-sided decision, which you are so proud of, my husband fell ill and died!” said Jane, her eyes filled with tears. “I’m really regret for letting Jayden marry Hera.”

No one ever thought that an arranged marriage that started with joy is now on the verge of destruction. Not only Hera and Jayden’s marriage but also both sides of his family.

Hera never thought that her decision would really hurt so many people. Even the father-in-law to death. So it’s not wrong if Jane blamed her. This all happened because of Hera’s selfishness.

“I haven’t forgotten, Jane. In fact, I’m pretty sure Hera is very regret now for what she’s done,” Andrew said in a trembling voice.

“Regrets are no longer any good. My husband won’t be able to come back,” Jane said and hid her tears in Jayden’s arms.

“I’m sorry. Really I’m very sorry for what happened,” Andrew whispered.

“Dad, what are you doing?” asked Hera confused about her father’s behavior.

“Andrew, what are you doing?” Anne also asked and then approached her husband who was kneeling in front of Jane and Jayden.

“Dad, come on up! You don’t have to do this!” said Hera trying to lift her father’s body back to his feet.

“Then who will do it? You? Do you want to apologize to your husband and in-laws?” asked Andrew repeatedly making Hera’s heart ache. Was there not a shred of trust left in his father’s heart for him? Until he was willing to kneel in front of people who did not even respect them in the slightest.

Hera closed her eyes tightly and knelt down in front of Jayden and his mother. Her heart didn’t justify her doing something despicable like this. But she also couldn’t justify her father doing it. For now, let Hera lower her ego a little.

“I’m sorry,” Hera said quietly, lowering her head.

They were all silent. Only Jane and Hera’s sobs could be heard.

“I’m really sorry. I really didn’t want this to happen. But everything was against my will,” Hera whispered, looking up at Jane. “Ma, I’m sorry. Please forgive me!” please Hera very much.

“You ignorant woman!”

“ENOUGH MOTHER!” Jayden shouted as Jane was about to slap Hera again. The man brought Hera to stand and Anne also helped Andrew to get up from there.

“Enough please,” Jayden whispered. “Hera has apologized. Is that not enough to satisfy Mama?” Jayden asked.

In fact, Jane also knew that everything she was doing now was in vain. What he did was nothing but an outlet for the suffocating pain in his chest.

“I know Mama misses Papa a lot. But will blaming Hera make everything okay?” Jayden shook his head as if answering his own question. “No, Ma. Precisely with us blaming each other like this will destroy our family,” he added.

Jayden stepped closer to his mother. He took her in his arms and rubbed her back gently. Jane cried loudly there taking all the tightness in her chest.

After calming down enough, they broke the hug.

“I’ll take Mama to the room first,” Jayden said to his in-laws and wife.

Andrew nodded with a small smile. “Yes, Jayden. Take your mother to rest.”

“You guys get some rest too. We must all be really tired,” Jayden said again before actually leaving.

Andrew and Anne were escorted by the Jayden family’s maid while Hera walked alone into Jayden’s room where Juan was fast asleep.

Hera took a deep breath as she closed her eyes. Her head was throbbing in pain so she had to give a little gentle massage on her temples.

“Satisfied with what you did, Hera?”

The deep voice made Hera open her eyes. Turn towards the source of the sound.

“What do you mean, Jayden?” asked Hera confused. Wasn’t it Jayden who said that if everything was enough, why did he bring it up again?

Jayden chuckled making Hera even more confused. “You’re asking when you really understand what I mean. But it’s okay because your acting today was quite satisfactory. So, I’ll consider it a bit.”

“W–what?” Hera stuttered when she asked. And finally she understood. All the sadness, pain and even crying that Jayden showed today was just a play.

‘Oh my God. Why would I be stuck with a demon like Jayden?’
