Such a Rude and Noisy Woman

Chapter 389 Hiram's Father Pleaded With Rachel

Chapter 389 Hiram's Father Pleaded With Rachel

After stepping in the room, Hiram saw Rachel sit on the bed with her knees held up to her chin. She

didn't look happy or sad. She was just emotionless, sitting there still like a statue. Noticing that, he

couldn't help being worried and striding toward her.

"My dear wife, I've come back," he said.

Then he heaved a sigh, sat beside her and held her close enough in his arms.

The doctors had tried their best to save Lydia throughout the night. But unfortunately, luck did not

favour her. His parents broke down and couldn't stop grieving after hearing the sad news about Lydia.

Hiram comforted his parents until they felt better.

"Why didn't you sleep?" Hiram whispered in Rachel's ears in a soft tone.

Rachel blinked and then gazed into his eyes. She asked in a sad tone,"Hiram, is it real that Lydia can't

wake up again?"

Hiram responded with a slight nod. Then he kissed her on her forehead gently and said,"Yes. The

doctor said that she may never wake up again due to her falling down which has caused brain damage

for her."

Hearing this, Rachel broke down in tears as it was painful for her to bear this. She could not digest this

news and felt restless thinking more and more.

"Well, don't be so sad. It's none of our mistake other than hers. This... This is the only solution for her!"

said Hiram, wiping her tears with his fingers. "Otherwise, she would be sentenced to prison for years

which would be equal to death for her," he continued.

Maybe, that was the main reason behind Lydia committing suicide.

Although Lydia had done a lot of unforgivable things against her, Rachel could not stop crying. She felt

sorry for her.

"But, but after all it was because of me that she... Hiram, I, I, I had never thought that she would

choose to end her life..." She cried in a loud voice, holding his clothes tightly and could not leave him.

Hiram patted on her shoulder gently, heaved a sigh and said,"I know. My dear wife, it's not your fault.

She was so stubborn that she kept going in a wrong way. Haven't we given her so many chances to

stop and start over?"

He added in a soft voice,"I had arranged for a hang out with Wade just for her to get involved with him

and to make a bright future together. But she rejected such a nice guy, losing herself the chance to

build a happy family and a better life." Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

Rachel hugged him tightly and cried loudly.

"Well, my dear wife, stop mourning. Maybe this is the only way to end our problems with her and it is

high time that we start living our life with some peace. Lydia's absence in our lives can save all of us

from so much drama. So, in a way or other, it is good for us," said Hiram quietly.

He knew his parents would explode in anger if they had heard what he told, but he had to admit that he

felt relieved the moment he heard that Lydia became a vegetable.

He didn't feel pathetic for her.

Although the pain of losing Lydia would last for a period of time in the Rong family, it was really

convincing on the other side that it could solve all the ongoing problems all for once.

Two days had passed since Lydia became a vegetable. Rachel wanted to go and see her in the

hospital today. Now she didn't hold any grudges against her though she ever hated her before. She

had forgiven Lydia since the moment she jumped from upstairs.

She was well aware that Gavin and Joanna would scold her if they saw her at the hospital. But as long

as they could feel better in that way, it would be okay for her.

Rachel called Hiram and spoke,"I'm fine. I will manage to go alone to the hospital. You please carry on

with your meeting." He was at work attending an important board meeting, so he couldn't keep her

company.

She managed to drive all alone to the hospital. Carl was taking care of Lydia as Joanna was depressed

these days.

By the time she reached there, she somehow came to know that

Gavin was also sick.

Hiram didn't tell her this because he didn't want to make her worried.

In fact, Gavin had had a heart attack and suddenly fainted the moment the doctor announced that

Lydia was brain-dead.

Rachel peeped through the window of Lydia's room. Lydia was lying on the sickbed with a pale and

calm face. She had never seen her so silent ever before.

Rachel suddenly felt guilty and painful seeing her sister-in-law in such a bad situation.

She stared at Lydia for a while and then half-heartedly moved to Gavin's room.

Joanna was sitting next to him and feeding him water by the time Rachel reached the entrance.

Rachel was surprised the moment she saw Gavin. He looked much older and wretched than before

with lots of white hair.

Joanna also looked tired and weak. Rachel could recollect the days when Joanna used to give more

importance to beauty but now everything had faded away. Rachel was feeling so much low to see them

going through this worst phase of life.

"Dad. Mom..."

Rachel called them in a soft voice, standing at the entrance.

Gavin, who was leaning against the pillow on the sickbed, faced her, so he first saw her. But when he

saw her, his hand trembled and overturned the bowl in Joanna's hand.

When Joanna turned back and saw her, she stood up in surprise and said,"Rachel, you are here."

"Mom, sit down. Continue with your work. I just came here to see dad!" As she said, Rachel walked

hastily, held her arm and made her sit on the chair. Then she went near Gavin. "Dad, how are you

feeling now?"

she enquired in a soft tone.

Gavin suddenly removed the infusion needle from his hand, rose out from bed, walked towards Rachel

and kneeled down.

"Dad... What are you doing?!" Rachel shouted in surprise. She was embarrassed by his act and quickly

picked him from the floor.

Joanna also bent down to pick him from the floor at the same time. "Gavin, what are you doing?!

Quickly stand up. You just got through a heart operation. You can't get out of the bed!"

Hearing her words, Rachel paused for a moment. When did Gavin have a heart operation?

Why didn't Hiram mention it to her?

"Joanna, let go of my arm..." Gavin pushed Joanna's hand away stubbornly. He knelt on the floor in

patient clothes with wrinkled face. That made people feel pity. "Rachel, I, Gavin, kneel to beg you. I'm

kneeling and begging you!

I was wrong. It was my fault. I got your mother wrong. I've done a recorded interview, and the police

have already withdrawn the case. Your mother is free now!

But, can you show your pity on me, an aged father?"

As he spoke, tears rolled down his face. He continued,"I lost my young sister twenty-nine years ago,

and now I also lost my daughter! I, I can't bear more blows!"

"Dad, don't say like that, OK? I'm sorry. I'm really sorry. I also have responsibility! Please. I beg you to

stand up. Please?"

Rachel also knelt down for him and reached out her hands to hold his hand. She wanted him to stand

up.

"Rachel! I beg you to leave Hiram. Every time I remember Lydia, I'm heartbroken." As he spoke, Gavin

touched his chest with a dejected face.

"I beg you. I beg you to leave our family. If you leave, your mother will also leave, and I'll feel better. I'm

begging you. Please leave, OK?"

As he pleaded with her to leave, he was about to give her a kowtow*, but Rachel stopped him from

bending down to the floor.

*TN: Kowtow is to kneel and touch the ground with the forehead in worship or submission as part of

Chinese custom.

Joanna managed to wipe the tears rolling down her cheeks and tried to convince him. "Gavin, don't say

like that. I'll talk to Rachel. Stand up quickly!" she said.

Rachel and Joanna finally lifted Gavin and carried him towards the bed with great difficulty.

Then Joanna dragged Rachel towards the small room. She wiped the tears from her face and

said,"Rachel, I never asked you anything before. This is the first time that I am asking for a favour from

you. Now your dad is weak and heartbroken. We can't do anything that would irritate or upset him!

I know that it might be unfair to you. But, but I really have no other option. I just lost my dearest

daughter. I can't also lose your dad!

Can you, can you agree to leave? Just leave temporarily. Give some time for your dad to heal his pain

of losing his lovable daughter. After few months or so, when he gets back to his normal life, you can

return,"

said Joanna with pleading eyes, holding her hand.
