Sweet Subterfuge

Chapter 896

Chapter 896

“Actually, it wasn’t a big deal,”

As Larissa recalled her pregnancy, she didn’t think that she had experienced anything too difficult.

If she needed to pinpoint one thing, it would probably be Wendy’s subpar cooking skills, at most.

When Larissa was pregnant, she didn’t take in sufficient nutrients that an expectant mother should have.

That was why Aster was relatively lighter at birth, but his weight was still within the healthy range.

Unlike Caldor, there weren’t any postpartum confinements or confinement nannies here.

During that period of time, Larissa could only rely on herself as well as Wendy’s care for her getting off work.

Fortunately, Larissa’s health had always been good. Hence, she did not develop any underlying illnesses or have any aftereffects.

“Compared to what I went through when I was a child, this is nothing.” She smiled.

Although Larissa sounded casual about it, Kevan was perturbed. After all the suffering that she experienced back then was all because of

him,

The only thing that he could do now was to treat her better. Even so, it still wasn’t enough to make up for the bad times that he had

caused her.

When Larissa saw Kevan’s expression darken, a wave of helplessness and guilt stirred up deep down.

“Stop blaming yourself. You didn’t know that I had a child in my belly either,” she said. “When I get pregnant again, I let you take great care of me and make me delicious food every day, okay?” Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

“Again?” Kevan’s eyes lit up as he stared at her intently. “Sure.”

Sensing that she had said something wrong, she immediately added, “Calm down! I didn’t mean it now! Aster is still young. We’ll have to walt until he goes to elementary school at least.”

To be honest, she didn’t mind getting pregnant again. At first, she didn’t want her child to experience what she had gone through during her childhood–that was why she didn’t want to have children. However, now that she had one, she felt that having more children to keep each other company didn’t seem to be a bad idea.

After all, she had the capability to give birth and nurture her children. On top of that, she was confident that she could raise them into decent individuals, considering their father’s excellent genes.

However, having a second child wasn’t something that she could decide on her own. Not only did she need to ask her partner about it, but she also had to seek Aster’s thoughts on it.

She had never mentioned this to Aster. In fact, she had never even planned to look for another partner in the first place. Moreover, Aster was still a kid; he wouldn’t be able to make the right judgment.

Larissa felt that Aster would have to start elementary school at the very least, for him to truly understand his thoughts about having siblings. Besides, once he attended elementary school she would have time to do her own things and wouldn’t have to watch over him 24

“Sure. We can have another child whenever you want,” Kevan said.

It had never occurred to him that Larissa was willing to conceive his child again, so he was feeling overjoyed. He still had a smile on his face even after they had finished shopping and returned home.

At night, Aster made a video call to Larissa. Alter staying at Gary’s place for three days, his cheeks had evidently gotten a lot rounder. Pointing at his lace on the screen, Larissa asked, “What did you eat at Grandpa’s house? You’ve gotten so much chubbler.”
