Sweet Subterfuge

Chapter 902

Chapter 902

Gary kept Larissa for dinner before letting her and Aster go home. Aster was already tired when he got into the car, so he slept for the rest of the journey home.

When Larissa got to their apartment building, she called Kevan and said, “Your son’s fallen asleep, come get him upstairs.”

Kevan simply picked Aster up without any problems. Although Larissa already knew about the difference in strength between men and women, she was still shocked at Kevan’s display of strength.

“This brat has gotten lat at my dad’s place. I get super tired after holding him for a while. If you weren’t here today, I’d have no idea how to get him upstairs.” Nôvel/Dr(a)ma.Org - Content owner.

Kevan’s footsteps were steady and calm. His strong arms did not even tremble. Smiling, Kevan said, “Next time, just let me do this kind of hard work.”

“Sure!” Larissa agreed happily. After they entered the elevator, she asked. “Has Wendy gone to sleep?”

“No idea. She ate dinner and went back to her room. She never came out after that.”

“Oh. How is she today? Okay?”

“Her mental state is not bad, and it’s better than yesterday.”

“And the hired help? Did she come today? Can she be trusted?”

“She came. But you’d have to ask Wendy if the help can be trusted. I didn’t interact with her.”

“Okay.” Larissa nodded.

Kevan waited for a long while but never got anything else. He raised an eyebrow and said. “That’s it?”

Larissa was confused. “Huh? What do you mean?”

Kevan’s face went dark at once as he complained. “You asked about Wendy and the hired help. What about me? You don’t want to know

what I did at home? Or if I’m doing okay?”

Larissa truly did not think about him. She never really cared about her loved ones‘ days.

It was just that Wendy had gone through a lot recently. But since Kevan already brought it up, she naturally would not disappoint him.

“So, what did you do at home today?”

“I went to the supermarket to buy groceries and made three meals for Wendy. I also dealt with some of my work, and Kevan purposely paused, his eyes bright like stars. “I missed you.”

Larissa’s heart stuttered, and she blushed heavily.

The elevator arrived at their destination at this moment and the doors opened.

The cool air rushed in and calmed Larissa down. But it also ruined the lovey–dovey atmosphere that was originally there.

“We’re here.” Larissa’s voice was dry. She coughed twice lightly and then walked out, leaving Kevan with Aster behind her.

Kevan naturally could tell that she was shy. He let out a snort of laughter as he quickly followed after her.

The brightness of the apartment was very eye–piercing. Aster fell uncomfortable and opened his eyes unhappily.

His fat face was all crumpled up as he was about to start complaining to Larissa. Then, he saw Kevan’s face.

The moment Aster saw Kevan’s face, he sat up immediately and hugged Kevan’s neck. He happily called, “Daddy! You’re back!”
