Sweet Subterfuge

Chapter 916

Chapter 916

Larissa brought Freddy into the car. The lights in the car were t, perfectly highlighting the disheveled state the little boy was in.

Larissa cleaned the dirt on Freddy’s face with wet wipes and ran her fingers through his messy hair to make it neat and tidy.

“Did you get into a fight with your dad?” she asked gently.

Freddy still wasn’t responding to her.

Recalling what Allen said over the phone–that Freddy seemed to have signs of depression.

Larissa felt her heart tighten. “Freddy, talk to me, please? You can tell me whatever you want.” She was starting to sound anxious.

Freddy looked at her, his gaze was blank and lifeless.

After ending the call with Allen, Lewis returned to his car and cast a glance at the two people sitting in the backseat. “His dad will be here soon. He told us to wait for him.”

Hearing that, Freddy became restless all of a sudden and frantically tried to open the locked car door. When he realized he couldn’t open. it, he fiercely knocked his arm against the window, trying to use this method to run away from the car.

Larissa wrapped her arms around him in an instant to hold him down.

“Let me go! I want to leave! Freddy screamed.

The little boy kept struggling to break free. He aimlessly shoved his legs in the air, staining the clean seats and doors in the car with his dirty shoe prints.

Larissa suffered a series of punches from him. Although he was young, he had executed his full strength at the moment for the sake of escaping. She gritted her teeth, enduring the pain surging from her arms.

Seeing that, Lewis immediately went to the backseat and helped Larissa keep Freddy stil

Luckily, there was barely anyone around the kindergarten at this hour. Otherwise, such a chaotic scene was only going to cause unnecessary misunderstandings.

“Don’t be scared, Freddy. We won’t hurt you.” Larissa comforted, gently patting his head.

However, this method wasn’t working on the little boy.

Freddy’s agitation showed no less. He even sank his teeth into Larissa’s hand that was caressing him. If Lewis hadn’t pried open his mouth in time, he probably would have bitten a piece of Larissa’s flesh off.

When Larissa withdrew her hand, she couldn’t stop tears from coursing down her cheeks. The bite marks on the back of her palm were so

deep that blood was slowly oozing out of them.

“There are some masks in the storage compartment at the front. Put one on him,” Lewis said.

Larissa reached out and found the masks that Lewis had bought in advance because of the pandemic. She immediately wore one on

Freddy. Since it was an adult mask, it was naturally too big for him. Even though his entire lace was almost covered by the mask, it could

stop him from biting anyone again.

Lewis used a leg and a hand to hold Freddy still. Then, he undid his tle and bound the little boy’s hands behind his back.

Despite that, Freddy was still trying to break free. However, no maller how he struggled, he still wasn’t able to harm Lewis and Larissa.

Lewis tied him to the back of the driver’s seat with his Jacket, restraining him from moving around.

Larissa waited for Allen outside the car. As soon as she caught sight of Allen’s car, she frantically waved her hands to beckon him over.

Soon, Allen gradually pulled up behind Lewis‘ car.
