Chapter 54 You Become Smarter
Chapter 54 You Become Smarter
“I…” Lillian wanted to say there was nothing she wanted to talk about. However, she suddenly reminded doctor Asa and replied in a serious manner, “Archibald, can I borrow you tonight?”
Archibald was amazed at her change and said teasingly, “What? Are you inviting me for a dinner?”
“Yes, do you I spare time?” Lillian replied.
Archibald remained silent for a while and continued to say, “Lillian, do you want to return me 100 yuan via inviting me for a dinner?” His voice suddenly turned cold when thinking of this.
“No, I, I want to discuss you with something.” Lillian answered in a dilemma. She knew what she did was wrong. She couldn’t ask him for help every time she met with trouble and ignored him when there was nothing wrong. It was truly unfair for him!
However, she had on choice. She couldn’t let Zoe suffer and couldn’t see she die so easily. By making her live longer, Lillian tried to prove her that the disease was not so scary and patients could see hope!
“Lillian, I am glad that you can think of me when you meet with trouble. Okay, I will let you pay the bill tonight.” Archibald didn’t think too much and hanged up the phone delightfully.
Lillian was dumbfounded and didn’t expect he would agree with her so easily. His words made her heart pounding quickly.
She took a deep breath, thinking: It would be the only and the last thing she asked him to help.
Suddenly, her phone rang again. It was from Sebastian.
It turned out that when Sebastian was opening Joanna’s bedroom door and found it was locked from inside. He suddenly frowned in wonder. He hadn’t met Auntie when he got in, which was an unusual thing because she would always greet him when he came back.
However, this time he didn’t meet her, besides, why did Joanna lock the door in the day time.
Sebastian knocked at the door heavily and asked, “Joanna, are you in the bed room? Open the door!”
No one responded and he started to doubt whether Joanna was at home. However, Joanna would always tell him where she was and would call him when she was going to go outside. This time he didn’t receive any phone call from her.
When he became impatient, the door opened from inside and Auntie came out.
She closed the door carefully and hinted him to be quiet. Sebastian was still wondering and immediately asked, “What’s wrong with Joanna? Is she sick?” He became more worried when thinking of Joanna took drugs last time.
“Mistress is sick and gets cold. The doctor just came and she fell asleep after taking the medicine.” Auntie said in a low voice, as if worrying to bother Joanna, who was inside the bedroom.
“She is sick? How could she get cold? Why did you lock the door just now?” Sebastian continued to ask.
“Mistress got cold sweet. I just used the towel to tidy her up and changed her new pyjamas. Maybe I didn’t notice and lock the door.” Auntie explained.
Sebastian finally stopped wondering and asked, “How is she now?”
“Mistress is fine. She just needs to have a rest.”
Sebastian raised up his head and said, “Let me take after her.” After saying this, he turned around to open the door.
Auntie was too nervous to hold the stairs steel behind her and sweep the sweet around her forehead out of worry. She always thought the master was smart and it really took a great courage to make up lies in front of him.
After getting in, Sebastian found Joanna was lying on the bed quietly. She was in a deep sleep and her arms were outside the quilt.
It seemed Auntie was telling the truth that she had just changed her with new pyjamas because the pyjamas had round collar and was pretty conservative, which was not Joanna’s style because she liked to wear silk dress with v-collar.
Sebastian reached out his hand to touch her forehead and found she had no sign of fever, instead, her temperature was low. Seeing Joanna’s pale look, he pulled up the quilt to cover her arms inside.
When Sebastian finally went out, tears ran down from Joanna’s face. How she wished to tell her husband what happened when he was helping her cover the quilt.
However, she couldn’t. If she told him the truth, then everything would be gone! Sebastian would definitely blame her and she had never longed for his warmth and care so desperately compared with any time before!
Sebastian told Auntie to take good care of Joanna and immediately called the doctor when there was something wrong.
Auntie nodded. When seeing Sebastian was going to leave, she couldn’t help asking, “Master, won’t you stay here tonight?”
“No, I still have something else to handle. Please take care of mistress.” Sebastian put on his shoes in the corridor and left.
Auntie turned around to look at the closed door of Joanna’s bedroom and sighed. Well, it was hard to be rich. Now mistress was going to suicide and master was busy making money outside. He came too quick without even having a rest on the couch.
Sebastian drove outside the villa and dialled Lillian’s number after checking the time.
Lillian had just talked with Archibald and picked up her phone doubtfully, “Hello?”
“Where are you?” Sebastian directly asked her.
“I am in the hospital.” Lillian didn’t know why did Sebastian called her. However, it was unnecessary for her to conceal where she was.
“I see, wait for me.” Sebastian’s tone was full of command and he hanged up the phone after saying this.
Lillian looked at her phone confusedly. Why did Sebastian tell her to wait for him? Was he going to come here?
Lillian was right. After fifteen minutes, Sebastian came to the ward with a bag of fruit.
“You…” Lillian looked at him doubtfully. Why did he come here? Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive © material.
Sebastian passed the fruit to her, looked at Zoe and asked coldly, “How is she?”
“She? She is fine.” Lillian took the bag and put it on the desk. She didn’t think Sebastian really care about Zoe. If he really did, he wouldn’t suddenly come after a long time without visiting her.
Zoe had met Sebastian a few times before and he always showed her a cold look. Hence, she was not fond of him and called him poker face uncle inside her mind.
Sebastian nodded, “Please go with me.” Well, he was not here to visiting the child.
