Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage 85
Chapter 85 Not Everyone Who Excels is Lucky
Just as Germaine was in shock, the elevator doors opened, and Farrah stepped out. Germaine, snapping back to reality, abruptly grabbed her arm and pulled her back into the elevator.
“What are you doing?” Farrah almost lost her balance and looked at Germaine in surprise.
Germaine held onto her arm tightly, demanding, “Where did you get that necklace around your neck?” Her usually composed demeanor was now faltering slightly
“Why should I tell you?” Farrah yanked her arm free. “Ms. Keller, even though we work in the same office, we have nothing to do with each other. Please don’t grab me while acting all high and mighty!”
Germaine glared at her, various unusual memories flashing through her mind as she incredulously asked, ” Did you marry Mr. Locke?”
Something flickered in Farrah’s eyes, but she quickly steadied herself.
Meeting Germaine’s gaze with confidence, she replied, “I just saw him with his wedding ring on! Why are you targeting me?” NôvelDrama.Org: owner of this content.
“Because I saw him buy that necklace!”
Germaine struggled to control her emotions as her voice rose. “This is a limited–edition piece, and there’s only one in Ronson City! It’s worth nearly a million!”
The mention of that price made Farrah’s heart skip a beat. Nearly a million?
However, she kept her facade calm. “Whoever he gave it to, you should go ask him! Besides, a rabbit pendant isn’t that rare. How can you assume it’s the same one? Why do you keep holding onto me?”
The elevator doors opened again, and without looking back, Farrah stepped out. She chose not to confront the issue directly or attempt to clarify things with Germaine.
Germaine felt a wave of sadness wash over her. She truly couldn’t believe it and didn’t want to accept it. It couldn’t be a coincidence. She had once admired that necklace closely.
Farrah was just an ordinary woman. She didn’t even possess half of Germaine’s excellence! A newcomer in the design department with no work to her name, what right did she have?
But Germaine quickly pushed those thoughts aside as she stepped out, clutching her documents.
She found Xavier from Project Management to discuss Adrian’s intentions.
Xavier paused his work, picked up a pen, and started taking notes, occasionally nodding. “Ms. Keller, will Mr. Locke personally oversee all the products in the Perfume Strategy Proposal?”
“Absolutely,” Germaine replied. “Mr. Locke has studied perfume abroad and is considered an expert, so
you mustn’t slack off.”
“You and Mr. Locke can rest assured. We’ll do our best
“By the way, there’s one more thing I need to remind you, Germaine finished aligning the documents and said kindly before leaving. “If the new products don’t pass inspection, your department’s performance rating will be zero.”
Xavier felt the pressure mounting even more.
“It’s alright. Don’t be nervous. As long as your team works as hard as usual and maintains a good mindset, the results will align with our predictions.” Germaine glanced at the time. “I have to go now. If there are any issues, we can connect later. I have a meeting to attend.”

“Sure, Ms. Keller. You go ahead.”
Dressed in a form–fitting deep purple suit and high heels, Germaine turned and left with confidence.
She was efficient in her work, clear–headed, and especially adept at conveying Adrian’s intentions. She always focused on the key points without wasting words.
The meeting she led was also about conveying Adrian’s messages regarding another important
it project. Although she was young, her high education and proficiency in five languages, coupled with years of experience alongside Adrian, gave her the demeanor of a strong woman.
In the company, both she and Corey were recognized for their capabilities, although they handled different segments.
At that moment, a Jeep came barreling in as if out of control, speeding into the courtyard of Locke Manor! It startled Philip, who was doing aerobics under the camphor tree. He turned to see the car doors swing open.
Out stumbled Jordan, bloodied and moaning painfully as he fell from the driver’s seat.
Philip hurried over, not even having time to grab his cane, with two bodyguards closely following behind.
