Take Me Away

Chapter 115 You Must Wait For Me

Chapter 115 You Must Wait For Me

Spencer was in a meeting at the base when he suddenly felt a sense of panic. A frown appeared on his

chiseled face. 'Did something happen to Fiona?' he thought to himself.

'No, it can't be!' He shrugged off the thought. He felt as though he were in a trance and realized that he

was only panicking due to the lack of sleep.

"Fiona..." Spencer touched the maple leaf pendant hanging around his neck. 'What does the pendant

represent, Fiona?'

In the meeting area, the conference was still going on.

"The passport should be issued in about two weeks. Our superior has now advised for some of us to

go to P City to gather information and plan our next move," Eric said.

"That is so daring!" Daniel banged the table and said angrily. "Mr. Cheng, I will to go to P City with you!

How dare they abduct Mrs. Cheng? I'll burn them alive!"

The others in the conference room echoed with him.

"Please be quiet," Spencer said sternly.

They all fell silent at once. Spencer continued speaking. "You can't deny that I went to T Country with a

hidden agenda. Since Fiona and Celine got kidnapped by the members of X, I have to do my best to

rescue them, irrespective of the dangers it can cause me. If I can't even save my family from danger,

what good will I be in protecting my country? However,

we're going to T Country not only to save them, but also to destroy X at the earliest. Before we get

going, I just want to make sure we all understand that we need to practice caution and not act

impulsively or let our emotions get the better of us. You must follow protocol and listen to your

superiors at all times.

Do you understand?"

"Yes, sir!" Spencer nodded. "I'll start by assigning your respective roles for the mission. Eric, Daniel!"

"Yes, sir!"

they replied in unison.

"You guys are coming with me to P City..."

In about half an hour, the meeting ended. Everything was planned. Spencer got up from his seat and

announced, "Everyone going with me to P City, please go back, pack your things, and get some rest.

We will leave first thing tomorrow morning."

"Yes, sir!"

Spencer briskly walked out of the conference room with Eric and noticed the exhaustion on his face.

"Go and get some rest. Johnson will take care of packing your things."

"I don't think I can fall asleep." Spencer sighed and smiled at him. "Don't worry about me. You go and

relax."

When Eric opened his mouth to reply, the phone in Spencer's pocket rang.

Spencer signaled to him to stay silent while he answered the call on Fiona's phone. It was from Sophia.

"Hello," Spencer said faintly.

"What happened, Fiona? Did you sleep too much? Why didn't you come to school today? We have a

test right now! Come here quickly! Ella and I are waiting for you! We have reserved your seat... Hello?

Why aren't you saying anything?"

Spencer sighed. "This is Spencer speaking."

"What? Is this a joke? Spencer Cheng?" Sophia opened her mouth wide in shock. "What happened to

Fiona? Where is she? Give her the phone!"

"I want to know her whereabouts too." Spencer narrowed his eyes and looked at the sky, feeling sad.

"What? I don't understand," Sophia said anxiously.

"Sophia, Fiona can't come to school today because of a personal matter. Can you request a leave on

her behalf?" Spencer said curtly.

"Ask for a leave?" Sophia frowned. "But we have a test today!"

"She can't come to school today on such short notice!"

Spencer yelled at the top of his lungs. "What are you so angry about? Did you bully her? Or did Celine

bully her? Or is she still scared after Charles said something to her the other day? You're all sick. Hand

the phone to her!" Sophia shouted back, not one to back down.

"Charles?" Spencer read between the lines and quickly asked, "What happened with Charles?"

"Humph! You are not fit to be her husband! I knew she wouldn't want you to know. Charles has his eyes

on her. I don't know what he said to her, but it made her so terrified that she rushed home and told me

that she would never come to work again. I know you are busy working at the base all day long but

would it kill you to care a little about her? You even confessed that you have feelings for her. In my

opinion, it's better for her if she doesn't accept your feelings!"

Spencer's face turned livid.

"Charles?" Spencer gritted his teeth as he said his name. "Is he Ryan's brother?"

"Yeah!" Sophia said in a firm voice. "Although Fiona doesn't care for him, he seems to like her. But

Charles is not like Ryan. He is greedy when it comes to women and will do anything to obtain her. Our

Fiona is naive and innocent. If Charles gets a hold of her, he will keep her as a mistress in his harem!

I..."

Before Sophia could finish, Spencer cut her off. "Okay, that's enough! I get it. I have to take care of

something now."

Unsurprisingly, Sophia's words had come as a huge blow to him, and he cut the call with his eyes

narrowed.

"What? I am not done talking to you!" When Sophia heard the busy tone on the phone, she was so

furious that began yelling without caring about the fact that she was in a classroom. "How dare you

hang up on me, you bastard! Obviously, you don't care about your wife at all!"

"Hey! The exam is about to start. What are you yelling about?" one of her classmates shouted. Just

then, the teacher entered the exam hall. "Take your seats. Here are your test papers. Please turn off

your phones and put them away."

Ella tugged at Sophia's sleeve to bring her back to her senses. Sophia, who was still standing, glanced

around and realized that everyone was staring at her in surprise.

"What are you all looking at? Humph!" Sophia snorted and sat down in her seat.

After receiving her copy of the test paper, she glanced at Fiona's seat, feeling upset. She had a bad

feeling that she might never see Fiona again. Ccontent © exclusive by Nô/vel(D)ra/ma.Org.

"Charles..." Spencer muttered his name and then turned to Eric. "Have someone do a background

check on Charles."

"Yes, sir!" Eric saluted him and turned to leave.

"Wait, forget it." Spencer paused. "There is no need to look into his background. There's no point in

looking into him while I'm still clueless about Fiona's whereabouts. Let's wait till we find her."

'Fiona, please wait for me, darling. I'm coming for you,' he thought to himself.

In Cherry Grove Residence, three servants surrounded Fiona's bed, begging her to eat some food.

"Miss Ji, please eat your food! You're starving yourself!"

"Yeah, Miss Ji, please open your mouth. We'll feed you. How can you keep up your strength if you don't

eat?"

"It's almost past noon and you haven't even had breakfast. If you don't eat by this evening, we will be

fired! Miss Ji, please eat just a little!"

"Miss Ji, it was kind of you to save Emily from being fired. But now, we'll get fired if we don't get you to

eat your food. Please save us!"

Fiona lay in her bed without uttering a word or blinking. But when she heard the last servant's words,

she felt annoyed. It was true that she had saved Emily by accident, but these servants still expected

her to save them? These people worshipped a monster like Charles. She had no intention of helping

them!

"Miss Ji! Please..." The relatively younger servant knelt down at once and pleaded. "Please eat! I don't

want to be fired. I'm begging you!"

The other servants joined her and knelt down with a pleading look on their faces.

Fiona shuddered as she struggled to sit up and shouted, "Why? You all want me to help you. But who's

coming to help me? I've been kidnapped and brought here. If I want to escape, which one of you will

help me?" The drug's effects still hadn't worn off, causing her to collapse and fall in the bed, coughing.

"Miss Ji, are you all right?" The servants surrounded her, concerned.

"Get away from me..." Fiona weakly waved her hand. "Get lost..."

"You all can leave now. I'll take care of her." Feeling confused, they turned around and saw Emily

carrying a tray of food. "Take the food and go," she ordered them.

The servants all left when they heard her words.

Fiona was too weak to move.

"Miss Ji, be careful!" Emily put the tray on the table and helped Fiona lean against the headboard.

"Miss Ji, please have some food, or you'll continue to be weak."

"I was drugged and the effects haven't worn off. I will still be weak even after I eat." Fiona turned her

head away and bit her lips hard. No one understood how she felt. When she woke up, she was in an

unknown place and the only one she knew was the monster who kidnapped her.

"Miss Ji..."

"What the hell is this place?" Fiona turned to her and inquired. "What on earth does Charles do? Why

do you all beg him not to fire you? I want to get out of here. Is that possible?"

"Charles?" Emily was perplexed.

"You don't know his real name?" Fiona was shocked.
