Chapter 125 Rescued Them Successfully (Part One)
"Then come over here so we can make the exchange!" Francis stood in the middle of the abandoned
security station, carefully pointing his gun at Spencer. "Drop your weapon," he demanded.
Without hesitation, Spencer took out his pistol and showed it to Francis before putting it on the floor. He
then kicked it in Francis' direction, rendering him completely defenseless.
"Are you satisfied now?" Spencer asked casually as he raised his hands over his head. When Francis
didn't respond, he started walking towards Celine's direction.
As soon as he stepped forward, the guard standing next to Francis nervously took a step back.
Scowling, Francis merely pointed his gun to Celine's temple.
But Spencer continued to edge closer. Each step he took felt like a gamble. He only hoped that his men
waiting outside had good aim..
"Mmph!" Celine struggled more as soon as she saw Spencer approaching.
But just then, a flock of crows some distance from the building could be heard flapping their wings and
cawing loudly.
"Shut up!" Francis had always been a superstitious person. Taking the birds' cries as an ominous sign,
he kicked over Celine's chair in anger.
Seeing that Francis' attention was diverted, Spencer leaped into action. With a sharp look in his eyes,
he quickly rolled forward and picked up the gun he had just thrown.
All of a sudden, three shots broke the silence in the building.
In one swift movement, Spencer had eliminated the guards standing beside Francis. Without hesitation,
he charged at him with all force. Francis was surprised to see his men fall, but he quickly recovered his
sense. Without hesitation, he turned his gun to Spencer and fired.
Bang!
The bullet shot out of the barrel in full speed and ripped through the tip of Spencer's ear. Wincing
through the pain, Spencer kept his focus on Francis who was about to pull the trigger again. Once he
saw an opening, he quickly ducked under him and kicked his wrist, sending his firearm flying in the air.
"Bastard!" Before Francis realized what had happened, Spencer had already aimed his gun at him.
"Don't move!" he demanded. Raising his left hand, Spencer caught Francis' gun before it hit the floor.
He then pointed the second pistol at Francis.
"You think you can threaten me?" Spencer gripped both guns tighter as he flashed Francis a cunning
smile. He was suddenly in charge of the situation again!
As if on cue, they heard a loud series of gunshots from outside the building. It was Spencer's men
battling the guards Francis instructed to keep watch.
From inside, they couldn't tell who was winning based on the ceaseless rumbling. They only knew that
it was a tough battle, judging by the noise. With a sneer, Francis praised Spencer, "You are a good RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
marksman."
"Cut the crap." Spencer held the guns up to Francis' head. His face darkened as he asked, "Where's
Charles?"
'Charles?' The mention of his name sent shivers down Celine's spine. A thousand thoughts raced in
her head. 'Why did he ask about Charles? Is Charles here?'
"Surely, Mr. Cheng, you must know where he is," Francis answered with a smile. "You must be so
proud of yourself for catching me. I can only wonder what would happen to that pride if you were to
lose Fiona."
"What do you mean? Tell me, you bastard!" Spencer was gripping the guns too tightly that his knuckles
turned white.
"I only meant to ask how you feel when your wife falls into the hands of another man." The meaning
behind Francis' words had never been clearer.
Spencer grit his teeth as he felt the veins in his temple throb.
Sensing his hesitation, Francis took his chance and punched Spencer on the neck.
The blunt force made Spencer take a step back, but he immediately seized his gun and pointed it at
Francis who was trying to escape. With one precise shot, Spencer hit his mark. The bullet went straight
into Francis' shoulder.
"Chief!"
The loud gunshot drew the attention of Francis' guards. Seeing their leader injured, they rushed to
cover him and shot their firearms at both Spencer and Celine.
Spencer dodged the bullets as he tried to fight back. He shot as many as he could until he finally ran
out of bullets. He had tried to shoot Francis again, but he missed and hit a random guard instead.
In the midst of the exchange, the frightened Celine could only sob and whimper. Sensing that he could
not take them down alone, Spencer dragged her chair, taking cover behind a large pillar.
But right outside, Spencer's men were closing in on Francis' guards, cornering them in a circle. Some
of the soldiers from the base rushed to Spencer's aid to shield him as they dealt with the rest of the
enemies.
In one corner of the room, Francis staggered with a hand over his shoulder. Four guards rushed to him.
"Chief, what should we do?"
"Retreat!" he called out darkly. Blood was streaming freely from his shoulder and dripping from his
fingers.
"Yes, sir!"
Several guards covered Francis as he made his escape. The others stood in front of him as a human
wall, protecting him from Spencer's men. As soon as they got out, Francis got in the car parked outside
to take them back to the manor.
The car's engine instantly revved with a single turn of the key.
In a second, the vehicle had taken on the road and drove off, carrying Francis away from the battle.
After a few minutes of driving, he reached into his pocket for what looked like a remote. And in one light
press of a button, the security station would blow up into ashes.
"Celine! Are you alright? Are you hurt?"
Once he saw that his team had prevailed, Spencer rushed to her and ripped the tape off her mouth.
"Spencer!" Celine cried as she tugged at his arm. "I was so scared! I thought I was going to die! Please
untie my hands!"
"Don't worry. You're safe now." He took out a knife from his boot and cut Celine loose.
Feeling the ropes slip off from her hands, Celine threw herself into Spencer's arms and cried.
"Spencer..."
"It's fine. You're safe," he said as he gently patted her on the back for comfort.
And just like that, the battle had subsided. Francis' and some of his men had run away, while the rest
lay on the floor, either lifeless or severely injured.
As the saying went, "Do not pursue a desperate foe." The soldiers from the P City base had already
crossed the border. If T Country discovered their location, there would be no running away. Their only
mission was to rescue Celine and keep Spencer safe.
As they scanned the battle site, they raised their firearms like champions. They rushed to share their
victory with their leader.
"Mr. Cheng! The members of X had left!" one of the privates cheered.
Spencer was about to say something when a small red flickering light caught his attention from the
other end of the empty room.
"Run!"
Spencer's loud roar broke the silence. His shout boomed as if it took all of his energy to yell that one
word.
What he saw was not a timed bomb. No, it was controlled by someone who had a remote, and there
was no telling when it would go off. They had no other choice but to run!
One of the men in charge called out to his men, "Secure Mr. Cheng! Head to safety now!"
"Spencer, let's run!" Celine cried as she tried to drag Spencer by the hand.
