Chapter 76 Give Her An Abortion (Part One)
Chapter 76 Give Her An Abortion (Part One)
'An abortion? Don't let me know?'
Fiona thought to herself as she lay in the hospital bed, which reeked of disinfectant. Her thoughts were
cloudy. She felt like she was dreaming. Why were they talking about an abortion? She thought she
must be hallucinating to hear such a ridiculous thing.
"Mr. Cheng, why don't we wait until Mrs. Cheng wakes up?"
"I say you do it right now!" Spencer shouted. "Don't make me say it again!"
"Yes, Mr. Cheng! We'll arrange the surgery right away!"
Fiona was now wide awake and her temples were throbbing with pain.
"Go ahead!" Spencer replied in a rough voice.
Fiona hadn't opened her eyes yet but a stream of tears started to flow from her eyes.
It turned out that she hadn't been hallucinating. It was actually happening. 'I'm pregnant? And Spencer
wants to give me an abortion without even asking me?'
She heard the sound of footsteps coming from a distance.
It seemed like some of the staff were walking in a hurry.
It took her every last bit of the strength left in her body to open her eyes. She saw Spencer drawing the
curtains to a side as he walked in.
"I'm pregnant?" she whispered. Her eyes were blood red.
"You're awake?" Startled, he glanced at Fiona. He was overcome with panic and anxiety. This material belongs to NôvelDrama.Org.
"Answer me," Fiona breathed.
"Fiona, I'm a bad person. This is my fault," Spencer said guiltily. He had a lump in his throat. He raised
his hand and stroked Fiona's pale face. "I was angry when I pushed you out of the car. I forgot that you
hadn't fastened your seat belt. I should have..." After a long pause, he tried to suppress his guilt and
continued, "I was just trying to scare you."
"I just need to know if I'm pregnant. Don't touch me!" Fiona screamed and shoved his arm away.
He withdrew his hands and clenched his fists. He pursed his lips and remained silent.
Turning her head to the other side, she started to weep. She didn't know how to express her feelings.
She had been pushed out of the car for no reason, and now she learned that she was pregnant. But
before she could even understand what was going on, Spencer wanted her to have an abortion. It was
so cruel! He didn't care about her feelings at all. There wasn't even time for her to say goodbye to her
baby.
"Mr. Cheng, the operation room is ready." The nurse's meek voice came from outside the door. "Excuse
me, can we take Mrs. Cheng to the operation room now?"
"No, don't do that..." Hearing the nurse talk, Fiona got up in her bed, lifted up her sheets, and placed
her hands on her abdomen. She was in tears as she warned, "Don't come closer! I don't want to go! I
don't want to go through the surgery!"
"What?" asked the nurse in shock. The nurse looked at Fiona and then at Spencer, her eyes widening
in panic.
"Fiona..." Spencer tried to control his body from shaking. Doing his best to speak in a soft voice, he
said, "You are not pregnant. It's just... You've been wounded near your waist. We need to do a surgery,
and it will be over soon. After the surgery, everything will be fine. Okay?"
"Spencer Cheng!" Fiona yelled angrily. "You are still not telling me the truth!" She whimpered as she
gazed at him in complete horror and rage.
"I..."
"Stay there!"
Before Spencer could take another step, Fiona became hysterical. She threw a pillow at him and
screamed, "I'm leaving! Let me go! I won't go through the surgery!"
The pillow went over his shoulder. He closed his eyes and sighed. When he opened his eyes again,
they had a fierce expression.
"Stay away from me..."
Spencer walked to the bedside despite Fiona's constant attempts to push him away. He extended his
arms and grabbed her as he said, "I am taking you to the room theater now!"
"No!" yelled Fiona. She punched Spencer on the shoulder. "I am begging you.
You have to listen to me now!"
"No way!" said Spencer and continued to drag her to the operation room. As Fiona struggled to relieve
herself from Spencer's grasp, she suddenly felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. She lost all her
strength and collapsed in his arms. She wailed in pain.
Spencer's eyes went red with rage when he saw her bleeding. Holding her tightly in his arms, he
rushed to the operating room.
"Spencer... Spencer!" With her last bit of strength, Fiona grabbed his collar and said, "Please save the
baby..."
Spencer looked at Fiona, speechless. He quickly turned away from her face, raised his head, and
roared, "Where is the doctor? Get here right now! She needs your help!
Hurry up! Take her to the operation room!" Several doctors rushed over. They wheeled a stretcher over
and carefully placed Fiona on it.
"Begin the surgery at once! Get rid of the baby!" Spencer said through gritted teeth.
"Yes, yes!"
Lying on the operating table, Fiona looked at him and whispered something.
The door to the operating room was closed shut.
Looking at the closed door, Spencer staggered back and leaned against the wall. He had clearly heard
the last few words that Fiona had said to him. "Spencer, I hate you..."
He took a glance at his hands. They were covered in blood, both Fiona's and his baby's.
Fiona had said she hated him, but the truth was, he felt the same way about himself too. In fact, he
wanted to kill himself. He had never felt so devastated and helpless before. He had pushed his own
wife out of the car. He couldn't even save his own child!
"Mr. Cheng, Mrs. Cheng is pregnant, but..."
Spencer thought about what the doctor had said when he brought Fiona to the hospital. When he had
heard the word "pregnant," it had sent a chill down his spine. His heart had started beating so fast that
even the cells in his body had seemed to quiver.
"Pregnant?" Spencer asked the doctor, shocked. "Did you say Fiona is pregnant?" In fact, he was so
happy that he didn't even let the doctor finish. He wanted to jump and run and tell everyone that his
wife was pregnant. He grabbed the doctor's arm, overwhelmed by disbelief, and asked, "Really? Is she
really pregnant? Fiona is pregnant?"
"Yes," said the doctor. He looked at Spencer respectfully and continued, "But..."
Spencer interrupted him again before he could finish his words. At that moment, he recalled something
and raised his eyebrows. "She was bleeding when I brought her here. Is she all right?" he asked the
doctor. Then, he gave the doctor a stern stare and warned him, "I want you to treat her immediately.
And our child. I want them both healthy. Otherwise, I will burn this hospital to the ground!"
"Mr. Cheng, the problem is..." The doctor's eyebrows furrowed with deep concern as he began
explaining. "She shows signs of miscarriage, but we've stabilized her condition for now. But the main
problem is, your wife's case is an ectopic pregnancy! Mr. Cheng, you..."
The smile on Spencer's face froze as he felt the world collapse under his feet.
He couldn't think properly and his mind went blank. "Ectopic pregnancy?" he asked the doctor with a
sullen expression on his face. He felt like the heaven had fallen to the earth. His lips trembled as he
asked again, "She has an ectopic pregnancy?"
"Yes." The doctor looked upset too. "I'm afraid the baby in Mrs. Cheng's belly shouldn't be kept. But
now, she is in a rather special condition and there are signs of miscarriage. Mr. Cheng, should we
stabilize the fetus first or..."
"Can't you save them both?" asked Spencer. "I am afraid not, Mr. Cheng," replied the doctor.
