Fifty
CHAPTER FIFTY
Dracul
Somewhere in between all those never ending seconds, I finally lost ahold of time, the pain, had reduced me to a slobbering mess, he’d been right, in time as the whispers increased and the pain opened up my mind to susceptibility, whatever resolve I’d had slowly broke off to his will.
“Serve!” The malevolent voice roars in my head for the umpteenth time.
“No!” I yell right back.
Her face filters in my head, it’s cracked now, fragmented like my sanity but it’s her it’s hope, I reach out to her and just like that the figure dissipates into thin air, it always dissipates.
“You’ve been resilient, I commend you on that, your mind still fights.” Jacob says with a smile. “A futile fight but a fight nonetheless.”
“Killing you will be satisfactory.” I tell him although very weakly.
I can barely see through the pain but my other senses are heightened beyond measure and I smell her before she comes in, hear her footsteps as she walks towards me and feel her gentle touch in laid with all of the evil.
“Bitch!” I spat out and with a strength that I didn’t know I had left, I charged in her general direction only to be pulled back by the chains and I promptly collapsed on the floor.
“Hmm.” She says simply scrutinizing me like some pet. “I’d wanted to ask how our little project was doing but he still has this much strength left something must clearly be wrong!”
“My lady.” Jacob bows lowly. “I assure you I’m doing whatever is possible, progress has been made, I’ll make a new man out of him i swear it.”
“Do better!” She snaps and just for a moment a glimpse of her true monstrous nature is let out but the smile replaces it.
“With all this rage think of what might just happen to poor Kathy and your daughters, my favor may just stop extending to them.”
He freezes and her hands reach for his face, he shows no sign of pain save for a small wince but his flesh sizzles and the smell fills the air, when she removes her hand a reasonable sized mark remains upon his face.
“Let this be a proper reminder to you.” She says to him. “Do not fail me again, I want actual results the next time I’m here.”
“As you command my lady.” He says bowing lowly. “He will serve.”
“He better soon.” She says. “I plan on reuniting the couple, completing the set and I need subservience before then.”
“As you wish my lady.” He says. “It will be done.”
“What the fuck are you talking about?” I say crawling back up.
“Train him.” She says to Jacob as she stalks off leaving me unanswered.
Jacob looks at me and for the slightest moment a flash if regret passes across his eyes, I open my mouth to speak and then it all went white. Everything else seemed like a mercy in the first place, his voice is a hundred no a thousand times stronger than it was.
“You will serve.” It roars. “Or you will die!”
The beast in me thrash and groaned in perpetual turmoil, I’d never been a man of faith but I found myself praying the old gods begging whoever listened to let it stop, but pain roared on and just as the crack threatened to to tear through, it stopped replaced by a sweet sense of peace accompanied by a faint ringing.
I open my eyes and saw him on his knees perspiring heavily with heavy shallow breaths, a trickle of blood trickled down from his nose and our eyes met for a minute.
“I have never met a man like you.” He says. “How the bloody hell are you still sane?”© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“Try me.” I tell him, I’m bluffing I really don’t think I can take any more of whatever that was. “I’d rather die than follow through with your plans.”
“Hers.” He corrects. “Her plan, let’s go again.”
He proceeds to rise up rather weakly and tries to project himself upon me again.
“Why why do you follow?” I ask weakly trying to stall for time. “Surely you’re powerful enough.”
“You breathe fire and fly does that make you invincible?” He asks me. “You think like a child, your concept of power is deluded, my power is nothing compared to hers and I wouldn’t be the only one to suffer if I dared to go against her.”
“Kathy.” I breathe. “Your wife I presume.”
“There’s a sea of bad blood between us.” He tells me. “But I wanted no part of it, of this, and I am sorry for this.”
Before I could press on with further questions to at all for time, another wave of pain crashes hard against my head, it’s vicious and there’s only one thing I can hold onto, only one memory I can hide in.
‘Elena’ it’s like a soft whisper ‘Elena, Elena, Elena’
I chant her name like a remedy, a drug for the pain, only Elena, only her.
“E-E-Elena” I say weakly. “I waiting for you.”

It’s dark and I’m little less than filth bask in my own drool and piss, the guard comes in and it’s the usual routine, spit on me, throw some foul tasting food and watch as I gobble it up greedily while he throws insult upon insult before going to keep watch.
All my plans have come to naught, escape is impossible, not without some help, if it were ever coming, my head pounds with a soft throbbing ache as I lay down wondering where she was, if she was coming for me, if she even alive to do so, when something caught my eye.
There’s a flash of light and I hear a body thud to the ground as Jacob bursts in and signals for me to be quiet, his hand signs are swift and thorough and a minute later my chains dissolve in thin air, I don’t think, I charge him and we land on the floor.
“Why shouldn’t I gut you?” I growl at him
“Because I could immobilize you faster than you think.” He tells me. “Also because I’m breaking you out, you have some friends in very high places it would seem, my family is our, this is a timed favor so either you get off, or get back in your chains.”
I got off him, still putting up a protective stance, he got up eyeing me wearily, and then began opening up a portal to get us out of there.
But we were seemingly out of time the door burst open and two mages exactly alike in everything except from the color of the long flowing robes, which were blue and black respectively.
“We knew something was off when our chains were broken.” They say together in a very very creepy manner. “She might just have your head for this Jacob.”
“Fuck!” He growls and at the same time the sound of a portal whooshing open grabs our attention.
I bare my claws itching to draw blood but Jacob pulls me back hardly.
‘Don’t be stupid.” He tells me before tossing me like a rag doll in to the portal, I’m blinded by the light but I hear the sounds of battle and a pained cry just before we come tumbling out on the other end of a forest.
“Free.” I laugh, taking in the freshness of the air and the sight of the woods, I’m ecstatic until I hear Jacob crumple to the floor hard, luminescent chains spring from hus sides and on close glance they seemed to be penetrating his body as if propelled by an invisible force.
“Fuck!” I growled not knowing what to do. “Where are we? Where the fuck are we, are any of your friends close by?”
He struggles for words and i kneel by his side trying to catch them.
“Family.” He says through a mouthful of blood “protect my family I’m begging you.”
“I can, I can get you help.” I tell him. “Fuck.”
“Chains bait.” He says weakly. “Meant to lure you out besides you’d never make it back in time, I’m a dead man, your friend is a days walk from here, do well to give me a proper burial.”
I do not truly know the man he is, but a tear escapes my eye as his eyes turn glassy and another as I make a pyre and another as I burn the remains of my Savior Jacob.
Miranda (queen of the west)
The Volotov brothers come up empty handed, their eyes disheartened at their failures.
“There will be next time.” I tell them as I strip them of all clothing. “But you must remember this moment so you may not fail me again.”
The whip comes down hard and they howl with excitement, madmen they are and I catch a glimpse of their massive hard-ons as the whip thrashes continuously against their back, they are not the only ones enraptured by the event and soon my mouth encircles theirs as they fill me up again.
“We serve.” They howl in unison. “We serve!”
And the lights go out.
