Chapter 752 Humiliation
Chapter 752 Humiliation
Sherry insisted on joining the birthday banquet because she felt she should show up to meet the in-
laws' family.
With Caspian and Willow married, it was expected for both sides of the family to meet each other.
Alicia asked, "Willow, why do you insist on coming after what I've told you?"
Caspian explained, "Since the Stewarts had invited us, of course we're going to show up."
Willow replied, "What's the matter, Alicia? You seem happy to see us anyway."
Alicia explained, "What are you talking about, Willow? Of course I'm happy to see you. I'm just worried
about what Grandma and the rest of the family would do to you."
Willow replied, "Don't worry. I'm sure she won't cause too much trouble in front of so many people." This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
"Then, you guys should head inside soon," Alicia replied as she greeted Sherry once more before
bringing them into the house.
The entire Stewart Residence was filled to the brim with guests.
Caspian and Willow's arrival quickly attracted everyone's attention.
Their outstanding presence had instantly garnered all the attention in the room the moment they
entered the house.
All the men were drooling as they stared at Willow, who was also known as the most beautiful woman
in Southlake City.
Willow had also put on very delicate makeup that made her look even more beautiful than most
celebrities.
Sherry had also dressed up for the occasion.
She might be a middle-aged woman, but she still possessed a lot of charm.
Sherry felt that she was slightly out of place with how much attention she was getting.
As for Caspian, his presence had garnered the most attention. Previously known as the Diatoranian
God of War, he might be dismissed from his post now, but his presence as a military man hardened by
hundreds of battles was unmatched.
Everyone at the banquet tonight no longer dismissed him as a mere good-for-nothing.
It was a completely different atmosphere from when Caspian visited Stewart Residence for the first
time.
Caspian was just a civilian like everyone else now, but the crowd still treated him with utmost respect.
Everyone had always wanted to witness the Diatoranian God of War in the flesh. Now that the
opportunity had shown itself, they continued to stare at Caspian for as long as they wanted.
Dozens of younger women were fascinated by Caspian.
Caspian, Willow, and Sherry's arrival into the house had completely shifted the crowd's attention onto
the three.
The Stewarts' expressions turned sour upon their arrival.
Only Carl would walk up to them and greet them with a smile, "Willow, Caspian! It's good to see you
both."
Willow replied, "Hello, Dad. This is Caspian's mother, Sherry Lynch. Madam Lynch, this is my dad, Carl
Stewart."
Carl smiled. "Oh, so you're Caspian's mother? Welcome!"
Carl had heard about Caspian finally meeting his biological mother, but this was the first time he had
met Sherry.
Sherry smiled and greeted, "Hello, Carl."
"Sherry, why don't you come and join us? Willow, you can join your fellow cousins with Caspian as
well."
Suddenly, Kate shouted, "Stop right there!"
Everyone stood still in place as they were surprised by Kate's angry yell.
Carl was upset. "What are you shouting for, Kate?"
Kate continued, "Didn't your daughter say she had severed all ties with the Stewarts? Why is she here,
then?"
Kate still remembered what happened when she represented the Stewarts to talk business with Willow.
She was almost killed by Caspian back then as well.
Kate had been waiting for an opportunity to enact revenge on Caspian.
Now that Caspian had become a civilian and Southlake Corporation was no more, she wanted to take
the opportunity to humiliate them both.
Willow explained, "We came to wish Grandma a sincere happy birthday. We wouldn't ever set foot in
here otherwise."
Melinda also chimed in, "Didn't you already announce that you've cut off all ties with us? What does
Mom's birthday have anything to do with you?"
Sherry's expression soured. She had heard about the Stewarts being a bunch of unreasonable folks,
but she had never expected them to be so rude.
Willow asked, "Why send us an invitation if you don't want to see us so badly?"
Melinda was left speechless for a while before changing the topic. "Since you're already here, where's
your gift then?"
Marilyn remained expressionless as she looked at the box. "What's in it?"
"Supplements that are very beneficial to the body!"
"Sounds great and all, but we'll see if your gift is truly sincere!" Melinda shouted and proceeded to open
the box.
Inside the box were two bottles of melatonin supplements.
Melinda complained, "Melatonin supplements? Isn't this just some random supplements you can buy
off the street? What's so sincere about this?"
Donald chimed in, "That's all you've got, Willow? Isn't this kinda sad?"
Kate explained, "It can't be helped. Caspian was kicked out of the military, and Willow had just lost her
company. They don't have much money for anything better."
Willow's cheeks turned red from embarrassment.
Sherry was also extremely embarrassed. It was the first time she had seen such a distasteful family.
The guests present started discussing with each other.
They also began to belittle Caspian and Willow.
Donald explained, "The two of you should have at least given a better gift if you actually wanted to
restore your relationship with us. Don't you think that this is too pathetic?"
She had thought long and hard about the gifts before deciding on supplements.
Willow decided to gift supplements that Marilyn would actually need rather than purchasing expensive
antiques that she would never give another look at again.
Carl angrily shouted, "Shut the hell up, Kate! Is Caspian's mother not an esteemed guest?"
