Chapter 147
Chapter 147
Marie pulled Sasha up, turned around, and left the conference room. When they reached the door, she
suddenly seemed to remember something and turned back to William, saying, “Oh, by the way, Mr.
Lindsey, before you wholeheartedly help out, I suggest you find out how many boyfriends Olive
has.”
Olive glared at Marie, but before she could scold her, Marie slammed the door and left with her head
held high.
Olive looked at William with a wronged expression and said, “Did you see how
she bullied me? I didn’t lie to you, did I? She’s like this even in front of you,
and she’s even more arrogant at home!”
William held Olive in his arms and whispered soothingly, “It’s alright, it’s alright. I’ll give you all the good
resources in the future. With my help, there’s no need to be afraid of not being able to handle a little girl
like her.”
Olive twisted her waist and said coquettishly, “You don’t really believe her
words of sowing discord, do you?”
William affectionately pinched her face and said, “How could that be? I believe
in you.”
“You’re so great!” Olive enthusiastically hugged William and kissed him on
the cheek.
Shirley also laughed and said, “Olive, don’t worry, I will definitely perform well and absolutely won’t
embarrass you!”
Olive looked at Shirley with relief and said, “I’m counting on you to suppress Marie!”
This time, they stole Marie’s script, and Sasha didn’t have many good resources for the second half of
the year. By the end of the year, no one could steal the limelight from the two of them!

Marie and Sasha went downstairs, returned to the car, and only then did Marie
angrily kick the seat, cursing, “Damn it!”
Sasha pulled her gently and advised, “Alright, don’t be angry anymore, it’s not
worth it.’
Marie, annoyed, scratched her head and said, “I should have investigated
William thoroughly, then I wouldn’t have lost this collaboration!”
Sasha hugged her and said, “How could you be blamed for this? Who could have thought that Olive
and William were having a clandestine relationship?”
“But the script was lost, it could affect your career!”
Marie was very angry because she felt that her negligence would hinder
Sasha’s development.
Sasha laughed and said, “It’s no big deal, just consider it a vacation for me. If
necessary, I can always film another TV series. There are quite a few actresses
who film multiple TV series in a year, and I’ve only done one this year.”
Marie shook her head, “I’ll go back and think of a solution.”
She didn’t let Sasha rush to film TV series because shooting more than one
show simultaneously would greatly affect an actor’s performance and
condition. Marie hoped that Sasha’s work would focus on quality rather than
quantity.
Sasha already had a large number of fans in the TV series industry and
urgently needed a movie to break into the big screen market.
After dropping Sasha off at the condominium, Marie returned to Glorious Estate and settled on the
couch, flipping through the scripts that producers
had sent over upon hearing that Sasha was planning to make a movie.
Marie had flipped through many times, and she thought that The Earthquake
was the best and most suitable for Sasha.

I went through these scripts again, but the result was still the same – I couldn’t find a single one that
caught my eye.
The doorbell rang, and Marie opened the door with a worried frown. Dennis walked in, changed his NôvelDrama.Org owns © this.
shoes, ruffled her hair, and asked, “What’s wrong? You look unhappy.”
Marie threw herself onto the couch and said, “The script I negotiated for Sasha was stolen by Olive.”
Dennis sat on the couch, pulling her into his arms, and asked, “How did you get robbed? Weren’t you
supposed to sign a contract today?”
Marie pouted, “Olive must have used the casting couch, getting William head over heels for her. I could
never do something like that.”
Dennis gave Marie a punishing pinch on her waist and said, “What nonsense!
I’ll see who dares to touch you!”
Marie rubbed her waist and said with a sad face, “I finally chose a script after so much effort and
negotiating for so long, but now the collaboration has
fallen through. Where am I going to find a new script?”
“Alright, don’t worry anymore, let’s eat first,” Dennis said as he pulled her up
and took her to the dining hall for a meal.
Marie was slowly eating her pasta, taking small bites. Dennis served her
various dishes, and she absentmindedly put them in her mouth, seemingly lost in thought.
Dennis, feeling helpless, called out to her, “Marie.”
Marie was still daydreaming and didn’t react.
Dennis put down his fork and tapped his fingers on the table, “Marie!”
Marie snapped back to attention, “Huh? What happened?”
Get Bogus
“Eat well,” Dennis pointed at her bowl, Marie’s food had already been thrown
out.
Marie awkwardly took two tissues and wiped her face, saying, “I can’t eat anymore, I’m so worried!”
Dennis, feeling helpless, said, “Let’s eat first, and I’ll think of a solution for you.”
Marie was taken aback, “You’re not going to spend money on buying me a script again, are you?”
Dennis shook his head, “It’s not a script I bought with a lot of money. Do you want it?”
Marie bit her fork, furrowed her brow, and said hesitantly, “Quality is quite important, I want Sasha to
win an award.”
“Um, I know, I’ll handle it,” Dennis said.
Marie’s eyes lit up. “Really?”
She knew that Dennis, when involved, would never let her down.
“First, eat,” Dennis pointed at her bowl.
Marie immediately lowered her head and dug in, now she just wanted to finish. eating quickly and then
see how Dennis was going to handle this situation.
After eating, Marie looked at Dennis with bright eyes, wishing he could present her with a perfect script
right away. If he did, she would definitely praise and adore him.
Dennis pinched her face, “Let’s talk about it tomorrow, go to sleep first.”
“Just tell me now! I want to know right now!” Marie said gently, with a hint of playfulness in her tone.
Dennis shook his head, “No, go to sleep first.”
Marie tried persuading for a long time, but it was no use, so she could only go back to her room to take
a bath and sleep.
But her mind was filled with thoughts about the script, as well as the smug expressions on Olive and
Shirley’s faces in William’s conference room today.
Marie tossed and turned, but just couldn’t fall asleep. It was midnight, and she still hadn’t slept. With
dark circles under her eyes, she went to the living room. to get a drink of water and saw that the light in
Dennis’s study was still on.
Marie walked over, pushed open the door, and saw Dennis busy with something on the computer.
When he saw her come in, he stood up and asked, “Why haven’t you gone to sleep yet?”
Marie, with a sad face, said, “I can’t sleep! My mind is full of scripts!”
Dennis, feeling helpless, pinched the bridge of his nose and walked over to pick up Marie, placing her
on the couch. He said, “Fine, I’ll tell you.”
Dennis took a book from the shelf and handed it to Marie. Marie took it, and the cover had a black and
white design with the title Double Sided.
“Have you read this book?” Dennis asked.
Marie shook her head in confusion, “I haven’t seen it.”
“Go back and take a look, let me know what you think after you’ve seen it. I’ve told you, now go back to
sleep,” Dennis said, picking up Marie and carrying her back to the bedroom.
Dennis placed Marie on the bed, took the book from her arms, and put it on the bedside table, saying,
“Get some good sleep, we’ll talk about this tomorrow.”
Marie turned over and lay in bed, covering herself with the blanket. Dennis kissed her forehead and
said, “Good night.”
“Good night,” Marie said with a smile as she watched Dennis leave.
Get Bogus
As soon as Dennis left the room, Marie immediately sat up and opened the
book.
The author, Clyde Berry, had passed away many years ago. This book was his final work, which won
numerous literary awards in America and beyond, and
was considered a masterpiece in the world of novels.
However, Marie hadn’t really been exposed to novels in her previous life, and
in this life, she had read some but hadn’t explored too many. She truly hadn’t
read this book at all.
But Marie thought that if it could be displayed in Dennis’s study, it must not be an ordinary piece of
work.
She was now extremely worried about Sasha’s script. If she hadn’t spent so much time going through
William’s social media without paying attention, it wouldn’t have taken so long, leaving Sasha with no
film to shoot. She was so ashamed of herself that she couldn’t even sleep.
Since Dennis had already picked out this book for her, Marie couldn’t wait to finish reading it at a
glance.
