Chapter 544
Chapter 544
Penelope curled her lips into a smile. This was indeed a good plan. She needed to figure out a way to lure Grace out.
Standing up, she immediately dialed Grace’s number. It didn’t take long for the call to connect. “Hello, Ms. Grace, it’s Penelope. I saw the news on Twitter. What’s going on with Allison? I’m really worried! Why are so many people attacking Allison? Is the girl in the picture really Allison? I can’t believe it!” She feigned concern with an anxious tone.
On the other end, Grace was also worried about Allison. But she couldn’t reach her. Allison was the daughter she had raised for over 20 years, and she felt both guilt and love for her. The harsh words against Allison online made her nervous.
“I don’t know where Allison is. She didn’t tell me her new address. Penelope, can you reach her?”
Penelope smiled cunningly. “Isn’t she at Epic Entertainment? You can go look for her there.” Afraid that Grace might hesitate, she added fuel to the fire. “I can’t believe Allison would do something like that. But you were sick back then, and Allison needed money. It’s understandable.”
Grace shivered. It was all for her, for her illness. Her foolish daughter had given up so much for her, but Allison’s life had been shattered because of her. When she thought of her own illness, she felt this was her fault. She had messed up Allison’s life. If it had not been for her impulsive decision years ago, Allison and Penelope wouldn’t have been switched. Allison was the rightful heiress of the Flanagan family. She should be enjoying all that the Flanagan family had to offer, not Penelope.
With that thought, Grace seemed to summon up courage. “Penelope, there’s something I need to tell you.”
Penelope didn’t want to reminisce or discuss feelings with Grace. She wanted Grace to storm Epic Entertainment tomorrow, so she could call the press for coverage. She wanted to fuel the fire. Impatient as she was, she held it back. “Go ahead. I am listening.”
“Penelope, Leah is not your…”
Before Grace could finish, Penelope yelled, “Mom, how come you’re here? I thought you went to the spa. Why didn’t you knock?” Then, Penelope hung up.
Grace stared at the disconnected call and sighed.
The truth was still unsaid. Next time, she would find another chance.
Epic Entertainment? Was Allison there? If she went there, would Allison see her? She owed Allison so much.
Grace wanted to make amends.

The bar was bustling at night. Although Azure was tucked away in an alley, it was packed with customers. It was small but complete.
The lights in the dance floor were hazy. The booming beats pounded in everyone’s ears. Emma walked in and looked around for the blonde guy she met earlier that afternoon. Upon realizing he wasn’t there, she flagged down a waiter.
“Hi, I’m looking for the bartender who was here this afternoon. The one with blonde hair.”
“Oh, you’re looking for Hughes. He was just here but left after taking a call. You can wait for a bit.”
Emma found a seat and ordered a drink while she waited. Glancing at the time, she knew she had to act fast. But Hughes was not around, and she felt lost.
“Hey, pretty lady, you’re here. Are you looking for Hughes?”
