Chapter 224
Chapter 224
“Are you sure about this, Ivy?” Ivy heaved a deep sigh as she crossed her legs. “I badly needed a break, Cooper. I’m sure you can handle the company. Besides, Seb will be with you.” Cooper shook his head. “That man can do nothing but party all night with his friends. Seb loves to play and mess around. I need you.” “I don’t want to repeat myself. My flight to London will be tomorrow.” Cooper frowned. “That fast?” Ivy nodded. “Yes.” Cooper doesn’t know the precise reason why his sister needs a break but he has a hunch that it is all about Wyatt. “If you are doing this because of Wyatt—“ “Wyatt has nothing to do with my decision. I wasted many years and I don’t want to regret another life experience. When I get back, I promise, I will help you.” Cooper shrugged his shoulder not buying her thoughts. Ivy left a big project with him in cooperation with Wyatt and Marco. There’s no other reason he can portray why Ivy needed a break. “Fine. Dad knew about this, right?” Ivy nodded with a smile. “Yes.” Great, what does Cooper expect? The old man loves his only princess and can’t say no. “All right. You can leave now and fix your things. I will send you off tom—“ “No need. I want it lowkey.” Ivy stood up. “I don’t want to alarm the media,” she added and after that, she left Cooper’s office. After packing up her things, Ivy invited Windy to the salon. She wants to pamper for a while before she leaves. “Gosh, girl, you are really into chasing fame, huh?” Ivy arched her left brow as she flip the page of the magazine. “Chasing?” Windy rolled her eyes. “We just did the heart-to-heart talk last time and we’re talking about chances
between you and Wyatt. And now, you are leaving the country? For what? To avoid, Wyatt, right— hep! I’m not done yet,” she said as she raised her hand to stop Ivy from interrupting, “I don’t need to guess your reason why you want to go to London. Wyatt is the main reason. You are avoiding him. And for sure, that guy,” she shook her head, “he will chase you.” “Just shut up.” Windy laughed. “See, you can’t deny it. You can’t hide things from me, Ivy. We’ve known each other since we were inside our momma’s wombs.” It’s Ivy’s turn to roll her eyes. Windy keeps on blabbering things throughout their session inside the salon and Ivy almost wanted to push her away. But everything Windy said was true. She’s leaving because of Wyatt. New York is not that wide for Wyatt not to find her. So London, with Wyatt’s wealth and connections, at least, can buy time. She’s not ready yet to face the guy. She admits it. She’s afraid that when they meet and talk, she will give in. And damn her heart as it still beats for him. Yes, she’s still into him, yet she keeps on reminding herself not to give in so easily. Three years of misery were enough. If Wyatt wants to win her back, then he needs to put a lot of effort to coax her. There’s nothing wrong with being hard to get, she kinda needs it. She fell that fast for him, and she won’t let that happen again. She wants to see how far and long Wyatt's patience is, in coaxing her. “Are you done daydreaming, Ivy?” Ivy frowned and rolled her eyes when she heard Windy’s voice. “Let’s go to the Department Store and grab some new winter clothes. Winter is fastly approaching and—“ she paused when she saw Windy’s reaction. “What’s wrong?” she asked. Windy stood up and grabbed her arm. “I think I saw Wyatt.” “What?” Ivy turned around and frowned. “I don’t see—“ she stopped when she heard Windy’s giggle. “See… you are still into him—what the hell!” Windy blurted when Ivy’s palm landed on her left
cheek. “You fucking dare to slap me?” Ivy arched her brow. It’s not a hard one. “I just want to remind you that I hate hearing his name.” Windy glared at her. “Stop being in denial and because you fucking slapped me, shop everything I want. I will make you broke, Ivy Morgan!” Ivy let out a snide. “I will never get broke, Windy Adams!” Windy scoffed and pulled Ivy out of the salon. She could still feel the slight slap on her cheek. Ivy sometimes is out of control but she’s to blame as she was provoking her best friend. “Are you sure you got all the things that you want, Miss Adams?” Ivy mocked. Windy looked at her cart and smirked. “Yes. After this, let’s go to Dior and Chanel. I want to get a new bag and a pair of killer heels,” she replied. Ivy couldn’t help but rolled her eyes. “Those will never make me broke…” “Yeah, whatever. At least it will lessen your money.” Ivy let out a sly smile. “It will get back if I took your shares from our company,” she said and after that she turned her back and walked away, making Windy stiffen from where she at. “W-What—hey Ivy!” she shouted her name and swiftly pushed the cart to catch up with Ivy. When they’re at the counter, Ivy is still smiling. “Don’t ever touch my shares. Don’t provoke me. If you touch it, I will—“ “Will, what?” Ivy cut the hum of Windy’s words, arching her left brow. Windy scoffed. “I will tell Wyatt that you still love—“ she paused when she heard the cashier. “Ma’am are you going to pay…” Windy glared at the lady and turned to Ivy. “Pay everything,” she said. Ivy shook her head and handed her black card to the cashier. “Where do you want to go next?” Windy didn’t reply, making Ivy chuckle. “See? Now you know how irritating you are every time you’re pestering me,” Ivy said. “Hmph! You should—“ “Don’t talk anymore. We still need to go to Dior and Chanel shops,” Ivy informed. Windy’s eyes widened in awe but Ivy didn’t mind and walked faster. She knew how bubbly Windy was and how fast she gets irritated. She somehow can compare herself to her.
