Chapter 91
CHAPTER NINETY ONE. When he got back to the house, everyone had gone out for work only Teresa and her mum were around and he decided to tell Teresa what he was suspecting.
They were his family and he couldn't hide anything from her even if it concerned his mother.
Walking up to Teresa, he slightly kissed her on the forehead before taking her to the lounge. "What happened? you look worried" she asked in concern as he caressed his cheek A Lot of things were happening at home and he might feel burdened. "I am suspicious of my mum" he finally said after a while, he didn't know why he was telling her but he just felt like he should. "Why? what happened?"
Clearing his throat softly, he told her everything that transpired at the warehouse and how his mum stopped him from checking on the said girl. "C'mon Ethan, she has the right to her own personal space okay. If she doesn't want you to get involved then you shouldn't" she replied casually, she didn't feel something was wrong with what his mum did.
"You don't understand Terry, I feel something is wrong and you know me, I am never wrong when it comes to my instincts". She sighed heavily," so what do you want to do now?". "It's already past work time so I will just have to go and check again until I find out what's wrong". "Okay then, let me change so we can go together" saying that she walked off.
When they got to the warehouse, it was already late but the security guard was still at his post.
"Will he allow us to enter?" She asked.
"Don't worry, he knows me" he replied before grabbing her hand before walking off. "Good evening sir" the guard greeted as soon as he saw them. "My mom asked me to get something for her so let us in." But the madam just left a while ago with the girls". "What girls?" Teresa quickly asked.
"I don't know but they were brought here a few days ago when I was on duty, I didn't they were still here".
"Okay then, that's her business. I will just take what she sent me for and leave". "Okay" the guard replied before opening the gate.
They entered the warehouse and began to check the place frantically, what the guard said piqued Terry's interest and she wanted to know what was happening. They kept searching until they got to a particular room and they found what they were looking for.
"Blood?" Teresa muttered under her breath as they walked closer to the spot. "Greg said one of the girls was vomiting" he replied and they continued searching until Terry stopped short when she saw something. "This" she said as she picked up the object from the floor, it was a gem bracelet that their parents had gifted them on their twentieth birthday and since then they never took it off. "What is this?" He asked collecting it and inspecting it. "This belongs to Amy" she answered in disbelief, how was Ethan's mum related to all this? "What?then how did it get here?". She wanted to say something but a lump was in her throat. If what she was thinking was true, how would she explain it to her family.
"It seems your mum is Jennie" she finally spoke up after a while and she saw him move backwards from her, he didn't want to believe what she just said.
"What do you mean?this bracelet could be
for anyone, it's not the only one in the world right?" He asked, part of him wanted to convince himself that they were just overthinking it.
"It is custom made Ethan" she answered, tears were already trickling down her eyes, she turned round and ran out of the room. The information was too much for her to comprehend.
He didn't bother to follow her because he was also having an internal battle within himself
and his mum needed to clear the misunderstanding.
"Mum, dad" Terry screamed the Moment she got home, they were seated in the parlor talking when she ran inside. "What happened?" Her dad asked, standing up. "Mum, I know where Amy and Cody are," she replied, stuttering as tears escaped her eyes. "Where?" Jem asked immediately.
They all gathered around her anxiously waiting for her to answer.
"It's....it's..." she hated to say it but she knew she had too, "it's Ethan's mum" she finally said as she gave the bracket to her dad.
"Ethan's mum?how come?" Rubby asked in confusion.
"I don't know mum but we found the bracket at one of her warehouses".
"Have you seen this woman before? Can you describe her?" Min Ho asked, speaking for the first time. "No, I haven't seen her before" she replied dejectedly, her heart was in turmoil and she didn't know what to do". Damian immediately took out his phone and called Ethan, if his mother was responsible for this he would not spare any of them but no matter how the phone rang, no one was answering until at last the call connected. e person at the other end didn't speak for a while but he could hear sniffing," speak up" he bellowed. " Damian" Cody's frail voice could be heard from the other end and he quickly sprang up. "Cody? How are you? tell me where you are now and I will come pick you up" he said immediately but she didn't talk for a while and he knew she was crying. "Talk to me babe, where is Amy?" He asked again, then his mum snatched the phone from her. "Cody honey, talk to me". A sinister laugh could be heard from the other end," I can sense desperation in your voice Amy, this is the first time In years' 'Jennie said from the other end, her voice filled with pride like a peacock
"I swear Jennie, if anything happens to either of them I will kill you with my hands". "I suggest you keep quiet and listen carefully Amy martins, I will text you an address make sure you come alone if you want your daughters to be safe" she answered and ended the call.
"I can't believe Ethan is involved in this," Jem said after a while.
"what" And how do you know that aunt? For the fact that his mom used his phone to call doesn't mean he is in cohorts with them" even as she was saying those words, she was finding it hard to believe too. "What did she say mum?" Damian asked, cutting into their argument.
"She said she would call me in a while." she answered and walked off, maybe she was never destined to be the one to get the last Laugh but she wouldn't allow her kids to suffer again. Seeing his wife walk away like that, Damian felt like a thousand needles pierced his soul and it was bleeding. It pained him that no matter how hard he tried he could never get his hands on any clue left by Jennie.Text property © Nôvel(D)ra/ma.Org.
"Dad, I think she told mum something" Damian spoke up, his tears almost falling down as he heard her voice. She sounded frail and weak maybe from too much torture.
"Don't worry son, I will keep an eye on your mother and sister" he replied before walking off.
Even Terry left the family and went to her room, she already had enough which she wasn't able to comprehend yet.
With everything happening, she didn't know who or what to believe. On one hand was Ethan
and the other her family, she was in a dilemma and didn't know how to get it solved.
