Inviting Emilia
Amidst their banter, Krystal suddenly stood up and walked to the center of the room.
“In that case, Sean, don’t you think you also have some explaining to do? Where’s your washboard?” she questioned.
Her words frightened Sean and he ran towards the door, wanting to escape. But Krystal signaled the guards, who promptly blocked the exits, trapping him in the room.
“Are you happy now?” Seeing the chaos that had ensued, Liam couldn’t help but ask Nora, who was so overjoyed that tears filled her eyes.
“I raised them well!” Nora declared, patting her chest.
She then grabbed his chin, forcing him to meet her gaze. “Where’s your sense of camaraderie?” she asked.
The smirk on Liam’s face faded, and he leaned in, seeking a way out for himself. “But I did nothing, right?”
“But you did in the past. And I’ve never punished you for it. So make up for your mistakes.”
Everyone knew Liam was a slave to his little girlfriend.
With no other option, he reluctantly joined the lineup alongside Jayden and Sean.
Finally, all the women turned their attention to Kris, who was doing his best to minimize his presence.
Krystal raised an eyebrow at Kris, indicating him to join the lineup.
Feeling wronged, Kris couldn’t help but retort, “Why should I kneel? Damn it, I don’t even have a girlfriend!”
“But you have sisters,” Nora pointed out the obvious, and the others agreed.
Surrendering to his fate, Kris walked out from behind the counter and staggered towards the center reluctantly.
As he neared the center, his eyes landed on Stefan, who found himself torn between maintaining a straight face and enjoying their misfortunes.
“Why does he get to stand out?” Kris pointed at Stefan.
Before anyone could say, Stefan narrowed his eyes at him. “Care to repeat what you just said? I didn’t hear you.”
Kris immediately shut his mouth and stood beside Sean.
Feeling pleased, the girls were about to record the scene when Jayden interrupted them. “I won’t kneel until Stefan joins us.”
If they go down, then they go down together.
Liam and Kris secretly gave him a thumbs-up.
Nora wanted to object, but Liam glared at her and took a step back.
His intentions were obvious.
If she dared speak up for Stefan, then he would definitely not forgive her.
Nora was caught in a grave dilemma.
Laughing, Stefan leaned to the side. “Why should I join you guys?”
“Stefan Winston, you will join them.” Suddenly, an authoritative voice interrupted his laughter.
And who could it be other than his girlfriend, Irene?
“Sorry, I’m late.” She apologized.
“Not really,” Nina said.
Laughing, Irene joined the girls and folded her hands, intending to watch a good show.
“Come on, everyone’s waiting.” Irene jerked her chin at him. Helpless, Stefan could only join them.
“Sister-in-law, could you please have my brother stand in a corner where I can’t see him?” Nora requested, her heart aching to witness Stefan in such a vulnerable state.
Just then, a knock at the door interrupted the lively atmosphere. Seizing the opportunity, the men straightened themselves, thankful for the arrival of whoever was at the door.
However, as the door swung open, a hushed murmur passed through the room. Everyone’s expressions changed upon seeing the unexpected guest.
“Who called her?” someone inquired.
“I did,” Jayden confessed.
Nina fixated her gaze on him, a whirlwind of emotions churning within her.
She couldn’t fathom why he had invited Emilia, especially considering everything that had transpired between them.
Jayden seemed to have sensed what she was thinking.
“Emilia wants to offer a personal apology for everything she’s done,” he revealed. “She’ll be leaving the country soon.”
Nina’s brows furrowed.
Emilia made her way inside and swept her glance at everyone in the room. “Good evening,” she greeted.
She stood in front of Nina, her beautiful face etched by remorse and guilt.
She appeared haggard, and the calculated look that once filled her eyes was now replaced by the weight of her actions. With sincerity in her voice, Emilia apologized, “I’m sorry for everything I’ve done.”
It was evident that the aftermath of drugging Jayden had deeply affected her.
At that moment, Jayden’s phone rang, He urged the two women to continue their conversation while he stepped outside to take the call.
He wasn’t concerned about Emilia causing any trouble. Knowing that everyone was present in the room, he was certain that she wouldn’t act impulsively.
If only he had not been so confident….
“Can we talk in private, Nina?” Emilia asked in a soft tone.
Nina exchanged a glance with Nora, signaling her to remain vigilant, before nodding in agreement.
The two women retreated to a secluded corner and stood facing each other.
“What did you want to tell me?” Nina inquired.
“Do you know, throughout my life, I’ve never once experienced defeat. I always accomplish whatever I set my sights on. Until now.” Emilia spoke. She lowered her eyelashes to hide the coldness and killing intent in her eyes. “This time not only did I fail to achieve my goals, but I also suffered a humiliating defeat, one that had left me unable to lift my head with pride.”
“And what’s infuriating is that I lost to someone who can’t compare to me.”
“How do you plan to compensate me for everything?” Emilia raised her head, eyes filled with poison as she demanded.
“Don’t think I’ll let you off the hook. I’ll destroy you and everything you care about. And once I’m done with you, I’ll make sure Jayden pays for his sins. And, you, Nina Santiago, will be responsible for everything that happens to him.” She threatened in a sinister tone.
Nina’s heart skipped a beat. “You’re sick.”
She knew nothing good would come out of her mouth and shouldn’t have agreed to speak with her.
These pampered princesses felt entitled and self-centered. Instead of acknowledging their own mistakes, they were quick to point fingers at everyone.
It was futile to talk sense into such mentally challenged people and hence, she turned around to leave.
“Kristen Davis. That’s your mother, right?” Emilia inquired, her words stopping Nina in her tracks. “Before coming here, I casually did a background check on you. I must say you did a good job of covering your tracks. However, I did not expect to stumble upon an exciting piece of news that even I, as a woman, found it deeply disturbing to read.”
Fear coursed through Nina’s veins, and her face paled at the revelation.
“What do you want?” she looked at Emilia and asked with a quiver in her voice.
Emilia shook her head, a cruel smile playing on her lips. “Nothing,” she replied. “I was just curious if Jayden’s aware of your colorful past because, from the way he treats you, I think he might be in the dark about it.”
“I have heard that you grew up in a brothel. Must be exciting to have slept with so many men, right?”
Nina found herself rooted in place, her body and mind paralyzed by the unexpected revelation. The sudden unveiling of her past had struck her like a bolt of lightning, leaving her in a state of shock.
She clenched her fists, struggling to maintain her composure.
“You truly are an inspiration. If I had such a disgraceful past, I would have ended my life long ago. But your shamelessness exceeds my expectations. Did you honestly believe you could escape your past?”
“A rat gives birth to a rat. And a wh*** gives birth to a wh***?”
Emilia’s taunt landed with a piercing effect, striking a nerve within Nina.
“Counting the list of men your mother has slept with, I doubt you even know who your biological father is,” she sneered.
Nina’s body shook, as blood drained off her face. Memories long buried and concealed resurfaced. Each word from Emilia felt like a dagger, piercing her heart.
Emilia took pleasure in observing the array of emotions that played across Nina’s face and had no intention of stopping.
“You haven’t told Jayden about it, have you?” she gasped, her eyes wide with astonishment. “Please don’t. I don’t think Jayden could ever accept the truth. And, honestly, I can’t blame him. No man would want a prostitute as his wife.”
Smash!
“Ahhh…”
A piercing scream echoed through the room, jolting everyone.
Startled, they all hurried to where the source of the scream was. There, they found Emilia clutching her head in agony as blood dripped from her forehead, while Nina stood nearby, her hand gripping a broken bottle of beer.
Hearing the scream, Jayden rushed back into the room. His heart nearly stopped, fearing that something had happened to Nina.
A sigh of relief escaped him as he realized she was unharmed.
However, his expression turned grave when he saw the chaotic scene before him.
He hurried to Emilia’s side, checking to ensure she was still breathing. He quickly instructed his men to send her to the hospital.
It was only when she saw the frantic activity around her that Nina snapped out of her trance.
The shattered bottle slipped from her grasp, crashing to the ground, and her face grew paler by the second.
It felt as though someone had punched her in the gut, and a wave of nausea washed over her.
“Have you lost your mind?” Jayden’s grip on her shoulder was firm, his voice laced with anger as he hissed at Nina.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Tears welled up in Nina’s eyes, “Jayden, I… I didn’t mean to… She… I really didn’t mean to.”
She hadn’t expected to lose control and lash out at Emilia. Her sole intention had been to silence Emilia’s words, not to harm her.
“Do you even realize what you have done?” Jayden asked his grip so tight that it was beginning to hurt her.
After the previous incident, Jayden was under pressure from the Moores. They not only targeted him but also made sneak attacks on Nina.
Nina was unaware of the countless attacks Jayden had thwarted to keep her safe.
After careful deliberation on both sides, they reached a decision.
Emilia suggested she would offer an apology and depart the country, thus bringing an end to the ongoing feud.
This was precisely why Jayden had invited, Emilia.
He had meticulously planned every detail and weighed all the factors. However, it felt as though a bucket of cold water had been splashed over his careful consideration.
“I am sorry. I didn’t mean to, but she kept threatening me, and I… I lost control. I’m sorry.”
Jayden’s face hardened, reflecting his disappointment. “Nina, don’t you have an ounce of trust in me? Even if she threatened you, don’t you know that I’d always be there to protect you?”
Nina tried to explain, “She wanted to get back at you.”
Jayden’s frustration bubbled over as he raised his voice, “Emilia, Emilia, Emilia. All you talk about is Emilia. That woman has occupied your damn brain. Can’t you realize she was doing it to provoke you?”
