The Ceo’s Convict Wife

Chapter 67

Chapter 67

Then, he ended the call

Leonard glared at the phone in his hand. After a while, he handed it over to the nurse beside him.

There was no way he could not worry about that. It would be good if what Jonathan said were true. But sometimes, unawareness was often the scariest thing, just like what his son had told him back then. “Dad, I’ll never forget my responsibility for the Youngblood family because of a woman.”

Still, his son abandoned the Youngblood family for a woman and even gave up his own life.

“Go and find out who that woman is. I want to know everything about her in detail, Leonard instructed indifferently.

“Yes, Mr. Youngblood, a man wearing a black suit and gold-rimmed glasses in the corner of the ward answered while quickly tapping on the laptop keyboard. NôvelDrama.Org content rights.

Rosalie lay on the bed in the ward, and her mind was still all over the place. There had been too many things since the night before, and she couldn’t get over them.

The doctor and the nurse had just gone to the ward to perform basic examinations for her, including blood sampling and other tests. Once the blood sampling results came out that afternoon, they would plan for her treatment according to her condition.

Suddenly, someone knocked on the ward door and pushed it open to walk in.

Rosalie looked at the person. It was a graceful young man in a suit and tie who looked not much older than her.

The man looked at Rosalie and smiled. “Nice to meet you, Ms. Leighton. I’m Carlos, Jon’s personal assistant. Here. This is your phone and bag. You may check whether any items are missing”

Then, he put the phone and bag on Rosalie’s bedside table. When he was about to leave the ward, Rosalie suddenly stopped him. “Um… Who exactly is Jon”?”

Carlos answered respectfully, “Ms. Leighton, You will naturally know when it’s time to know about it. I’m only a personal

assistant.”

“Do you know what’s going on in my hometown now?” Rosalie asked another question.

Carlos did not avoid that question, though. “Well, your uncles, aunt, and their families have all been temporarily detained now. Your grandfather was also going to be detained by the police at first. However, he was allowed to be released on bail upon considering he was old and your grandmother would need someone to take care of her.”

Rosalie was shocked. She did not expect so many people from her family to be detained suddenly. The only person who spoke up for her in the family was Wilma, her grandmother.

When Rosalie thought of what had happened the night before, she felt bitterness in her heart.

“By the way, the Foster family has also been detained at the police station now, Carlos added.

After Carlos left the ward, Rosalie scanned the huge ward and mused, “Jon can afford a premium VIP ward like this and even has a personal assistant. Besides, not one but several doctors came to check on me just now, not to mention all of them are chief physicians, and they treated me with cautious respect. Of course, they are respectful to me not because of who I am but the Jon’ behind me. Who the hell are you, Jon?”

Rosalie’s mind got even more cluttered. She picked up her bag on the bedside table and remembered she had left it at Wilma’s place.

She opened the bag, looked at the things inside, and found nothing was missing.

As for her phone, it had been taken away by the Foster family once they discovered it and was currently off. Rosalie switched it on and saw there were a bunch of missed calls and text messages.

They were from Wilma, Lillian, and some unknown users.

Rosalie could tell the reason for Wilma’s call. As for Lillian… She looked at the phone and found almost 20 missed calls from Lillian

Rosalie hurriedly called Lillian back.

Lillian quickly answered the phone. “Rosalie, is that you?”

“Yeah. Well… My phone was switched off yesterday. I turned it on today and saw your missed calls,” Rosalie explained.

jillian took a long breath before saying, ‘Gosh! I tried to call you last night but couldn’t get through. You told me that you would go to your granny’s place on New Year’s Eve. I was worried that something might happen to you. Except for your granny, all the relatives in her place will only rub salt into your wound.”

Lillian went on and on. She told Rosalie that she had been calling her from the night before to that morning but still could not reach her. The more she thought about it, the more anxious she was. She had already planned to go to Wilma’s place

that afternoon if she still failed to contact Rosalie since she knew the address.

“By the way, they didn’t stir up trouble last night, did they?” Lillian was worried.

“They wanted to sell me to a dimwit as a wife so that they could buy a house with the money,” Rosalie told Lillian what had happened at Wilma’s place the night before without luding anything

Lillian gritted her teeth in anger after hearing what Rosalie had said. “How can there be such a shameless person? How about you? You didn’t suffer any loss, did you?”

“Fortunately, Jon saved me. I’m fine,” Rosalie reassured.

“Have you returned to your rental home now? I’ll go and find you,” Lillian said.

“Don’t. I-I haven’t gone back yet. I’m with Jon now. I’ll meet you when I go back.” Rosalie hurriedly stopped her.”

Upon hearing that, Lillian reminded Rosalie to be careful before angrily saying. “Your family should learn a lesson. Otherwise, they might sell you again if you let them off easily

“All right, all right. 1 got it, Rosalie said.

After hanging up the phone, she looked at Wilma’s number among the missed calls hesitantly and wondered what she should say to Wilma. Should she pretend nothing had happened or let Daniel, Edward, and Sarah be punished as they deserved?

She took a deep breath and called Wilma back. Not long after the call was answered, Wilina’s trembling voice sounded. “Rosalie?”

“Yes.” Rosalie couldn’t help but feel her nose sting when she heard Wima’s voice.

“Rosalie, you… Did anything happen to you yesterday I heard that a big shot saved you. Did Chris take advantage of you? Did they…

“No, Granny. I’m fine. Nothing happened last night.” Rosalie answered.

“That’s good then. Wilma finally breathed a sigh of relief. “If something really happens to you, how should I face your late mother when I leave?”

Rosalie could only feel her nose fill with a kind of bitterness.
