The CEO's Dirty Little Secret

Chapter 11

Chapter 11

Roman paused outside the house for a moment after he closed the door.

Why did he feel like this was the last time he would see Evelyn?

He’d thought they had come to an understanding after last night. Evelyn had been...

He closed his eyes and fought the hardening of his body. Even after showering, he could still feel

her, and he could still hear her cries. She was exquisite. Her smell, the taste of her, everything.

They wouldn't reach those heights if Evelyn didn’t completely trust him to take care of her during

and after. He supposed the romantics would claim she was made for him. Made to please him. Made

for him to do every single deviant thing he wanted to her body.

That’s why her declaration that she was still leaving had felt like she’d brought a hammer down on

his head.

It was just sex, so it shouldn’t matter to him, but the thought of her leaving... The thought of her

doing all these things with someone else made him want to kill someone.

This brought back the realisation he had been trying to ignore since she’d left that stupid note.

Evelyn Bright had got under his skin. She’d wormed her way in somehow over the past year without

him noticing and that just wouldn’t do. He needed to create distance somehow.

If she stayed.

He looked back at the house briefly before he started down the steps to the waiting car. Normally

he drove himself back, but since Phillip had driven them here the day before, he didn’t have his car with

him. The sun was just rising, so it was a lot later than when he normally left, but it was still too early for

anyone to look as chirpy as Phillip did as he rested on the car door.

“Morning, sir,” Phillip said with a smile.

He grunted a reply and got into the car without waiting for Philip to open the door. His driver

thought it was amusing that they had spent the day following Evelyn before he had finally had enough

and told her to come to the car. That, and the fact that he’d taken the day off to do that in the first place

was completely out of character. But Philip had never had an Evelyn, so he would never understand.

Great sex was hard to come by, and the fact that every time with Evelyn was off the charts was a sign

that he needed to keep this one at least a while longer.

He would get bored of her eventually, as he always did. But until then he had to do everything in

his power to keep her right where she was.

He ignored the voice that reminded him that Evelyn had already outlasted the longest contract.

“Home?” Philip asked once he was in the car.

“Yes. I need to sleep, I’ll see my father later.”

He sent a quick text message to his father as he said that. He was supposed to visit for breakfast

but he was so drained that it would have to be brunch or lunch. That would bring its own set of

problems but he would deal with that when he was mentally prepared for it.

He pressed the button to speak to Phillip again.

“Did you get Miss Bright’s car?”

“Yes, it’s in your garage. Do you want me to make arrangements to bring it here?”

He almost said yes, but the nagging in the back of his mind wouldn’t stop. The moment he brought

that car, Evelyn would be gone again. Maybe that made him a dick, but that was okay. He’d do

whatever he needed to do until he was sure she would follow the rules.

“No. I’ll tell you when.”

“This place is hard to find on satellite navigation. She won’t be able to get any taxis here.”

“She’ll be fine,” he said firmly before he switched off the intercom again.

Without having to concentrate on the driving, he could have caught up on all the work he had put

aside to deal with Evelyn, but he didn’t feel like it. That was a bad sign. Work always came first, no

matter what but now his head was filled with thoughts of Evelyn.

He’d never treated her like a whore, and he’d never judged her for accepting his offer. Why was

that suddenly an issue now?

Or was it something else? Was this contract restricting her from being with somebody else? Did

she want to be with somebody else?

The man she had met for lunch looked like a little boy who was just getting over the effects of

puberty. He wouldn’t know how to treat a woman like Evelyn. He wouldn’t know how to touch her, how

to please her. He wouldn’t know what Evelyn needed. If she thought for one second that he would let

her out of this contract to start a relationship with that boy then she had another thing coming.

He put his briefcase on the chair next to him and opened it with determination.

He was not going to think about Evelyn anymore, she had already set him back too much. He had

a week until he came back, and if she wasn’t there then he would deal with it.

But just in case, maybe he needed to speak to his lawyers to amend the contract. The penalties

had to be made clearer. And while they were doing that, maybe they could include Saturday night as

the second day.

No. He wouldn’t add another day. One day was enough. One day got him through.

Besides, his Saturdays were taken. Evelyn would remain where she was, in her little box with her

rules. She would remain separate from all the other shit in his life.

“Sir, I must warn you. Miss Cartwright dropped by last night with an invitation to her family’s party

in a few weeks.”

“Did you slam the door in her face? Again?” he asked drily.

“No, I restrained myself. But she did say Bains would be attending.”

His fists clenched at the mention of that name. White-hot fury filled every nerve ending in his body.

Bains. The man he would enjoy destroying when the time came.

“I guess we’re going to a party,” he said to Phillip. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

“With Miss Cartwright?”

That woman would assume that him finally accepting his invitation was an indication that he was

open for more. But the rules of Evelyn’s contract bound him, too. He couldn’t have anyone else while

he had her. He didn’t need anyone else.

“Find another way in,” he answered.

It occurred to him that he was making a business decision based on how he thought Evelyn would

react. He needed to squash that before it took root.

“No. I’ll accept Miss Cartwright’s invitation.”

He was in control of this situation, not Evelyn. He would not be ruled by his dick. And this was the

absolute last time he would think of her.
