"You've scared him." Hayden frowned and reminded.
Noah obviously withdrawn his foot and slightly moved his body towards Hayden.
When Joseph saw Noah's pale face which was gazing at him with hidden bitterness, he somehow
regretted. He sighed silently in his mind and asked tentatively.
"Are you blaming me for not taking good care of you?"
Noah just ignored him and turned his head to lean in Hayden's arms with his left hand clutching the
corner of Hayden's shirt.
Seeing Joseph seemed to be a little depressed, Hayden sighed silently in her mind and comforted.
"Perhaps he was scared last night, let him calm down for a while, he'll be fine."
You did not pay much attention to your son, no wonder he chose to be close with others rather than
you, wasn't this a very normal thing?
The atmosphere was not easy-going. At the side, Stella's eyes moved and she pulled Joseph's sleeve,
saying in a cutesy manner, "Mister, I can't pass this level, you help me please."
Joseph's brow which frowned tightly somehow relaxed. His attention was diverted and he turned his
head, saying.
"Which level?"
"This, this demon always can't be beaten."
"…"
The atmosphere eased. Hayden fondled Noah's hair and whispered, "Noah, are you blaming your
daddy for not taking care of you and making you fall down the stairs?"
Noah, who was in her arms, shook his head. He looked up at Hayden with an exhaustible amount of
grievance in his eyes.
"Then why?"
Hayden was slightly confused.
Noah's hand which was previously dislocated still could not easily move. He could only move it slightly
but still could not lift it. He was so anxious that the tears welled up in his eyes.
"You're trying to write, aren't you?"
Hayden hurriedly asked.
Noah nodded repeatedly.
"Don't be anxious." Hayden took out paper and pen from her bag and handed it to Noah's hand. He
used his left hand to hold the pen. Although it was written in a crooked way, she still managed to see
what the sentence was.
"Don't like Daddy to marry another woman."
When Hayden saw this sentence, she subconsciously glanced at Joseph who was playing games with
Stella and frowned.
It was inevitable that children were reluctant to accept their parents' remarriage. A careless person like
Joseph most likely would not take Noah's thought into account, let alone this child was unable to
speak.
When she thought of this, dark clouds loomed over her. But as an outsider, she had no right to
comment anything about it so she could only lower her voice to comfort Noah, "Your father loves you
very much. Even if he marries another woman, he'll still treat you nicely."
Noah slowly shook his head. His face was contorted by intense anguish.
"What's wrong?" Hayden held his shoulder, "You don't like Viola?"
Noah slightly hesitated. As if he had made up his mind about something, he nodded and then wrote
another sentence on the notepad quickly.
"I want you to be my mommy."
Seeing these words, Hayden wanted to laugh and weep at all once.
She really did not know how to explain to a child that the marriage of adults was not that simple. It was
not that children could change the result by saying who did they like or did not.
Joseph apparently had finished helping Stella to end a round of the game. He got up, walked over and
asked, "What has Noah written?"
Hayden quickly tore off that page of the notepad, folded it and put it into her beg. She looked as if she
was afraid of being found.
"Nothing, he only tells me what he wants to eat in the evening. I'll jot it down and go back to make it for
him."
Seeing her panicked look, Joseph suspiciously looked at her. When he was about to continue asking,
she already stood up and said hastily.
"Well, I have to go back to do the project planning so I'll leave first. I may arrive slightly later in the
evening. If you guys are hungry, simply grab a bite."
Finished speaking, she fled away hurriedly.
The door of the ward was quickly closed. Again, the ward was left with Joseph and the two kids.
Stella crouched on the sofa, busily playing games. Even when her mommy left, she also just ignored
her. Whereas, Noah stared at the door as if he was looking forward to seeing Hayden come back.
Seeing Noah's behaviour, a wave of guilt rose in Joseph's heart again.
He could not help but contemplate about what Hayden said before. How irresponsible he was and how
badly he did that he could make Noah became so dependent on a woman whom he had not known for
a long time but on the contrary, disliked his own father very much?
"Noah," he called Noah softly and patiently.
When Noah saw that Hayden would not come back, he hugged the notepad left by Hayden and wrote
and drew something on it. He just blew Joseph off.
Seeing this, Joseph pondered for a moment. He glanced at Stella who was on the corner of the sofa
and remembered that Noah had always asked him to invite Hayden and her daughter to their house as
guests. So, he tentatively tried to curry favour with Noah, saying.
"Noah, how about this, when you're discharged from the hospital, I'll hold a small party at home and I'll
invite Hayden and Stella to attend the party together, okay?" Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.
As expected, Noah immediately raised his head. His eyes were full of delight.
"Then, you're still ignoring daddy?" Joseph fondled Noah's head.
Noah wrote something on the notepad and handed it to him to let him see.
"Daddy, you have to say sorry to me."
Joseph froze for a moment. He had a self-examination and thought that it was really his fault for
drinking too much and even not knowing that Noah had fallen down the stairs not far from his door. He
was indeed careless.
"Okay, Daddy apologizes to you. I'm sorry, Noah, this will never happen again."
However, what Noah thought in his mind was the matter that he brought Viola home.
Although they thought differently, Joseph had apologized. Noah thought what Joseph promised was
that he would never bring Viola home again. So, Noah's face gradually looked better,
Kids would forget very easily. Soon, he played with Stella together again. Although he did not play the
game, he was also happy to see Stella playing the game with a fierce and serious look on the side.
On the other hand, Harrison woke up early in the morning. The butler of the old mansion, Mark, had
just returned from Imperial Villa and had brought back some investigated news.
"Have you found it out clearly? The matter that Noah falls from the second floor this time, is it purposely
done by someone or an accident?"
"It should be an accident." Marked looked serious, "I've asked all the maids. At that time of that night,
the maid who was dedicated to taking care of Little Noah to sleep went to make milk. So, there was
indeed no one in the corridor of the second floor."
"Not even a single person?"
Harrison was uncontrollably suspicious about it.
There were more than ten maids in Imperial Villa. It was really surprising that when Noah encountered
the accident, nobody was there. And it would cause a big noise when Noah rolled down the stairs from
the second floor but it surprisingly took quite a while before someone realized it.
"That day, Ms. Kidman was also there. She brought many gifts so the maids went to distribute the
things among themselves."
"Viola?" Hayden frowned and his face somehow darkened. He questioned, "Where was she when
Noah had the accident?"
If it was purposely done by someone, he really could not find a second person with such a motive other
than Viola.
