Chapter Fourty Nine
Chapter Fourty Nine
Alex
"How did you know it is a room and not a tunnel or passage," James asked
"Look at this, if it is a tunnel it must be leading somewhere but look here, right under the master
bedroom is something like a staircase and it stops right there, if it is a tunnel it must be leading
somewhere, but there is no other place there."
"Okay, so what do we do now? it's 7 am already." Lewis said checking the time.
"Cole, is there any other way inside apart from the main gate?" I asked and Cole checked again.
"There is none here, this is before the renovation right?" He asked James and he nodded.
"Maybe there is one now, Sam bought the house four years ago, he could have done something to the
house, so we can't say," Cole said and I nodded.
"I wish I had time back then to oversee the renovation back then."
"Oh, come on, you were very busy and who knew something like this was going to happen?" I said and
he nodded
"We are going now right?" I asked and they nodded.
"Good, I'll drive," I said grabbing my car key, I was afraid, scared that Tracy was with that guy but I
didn't show it, I drove us where we parked the car far from that house and we walked back there, hiding
in the bush we hid in the last time we came.
"So what are we going to do? We don't even have a plan." Cole said and others nodded. As we
watched the house from where we were standing.
"I don't know but we have to get inside that place and rescue Tracy somehow."
"You are that beautiful lady's husband." A voice said from behind and we almost ran away because we
were startled.
"Who are you?" I asked the woman, she looked like she was in her late 50s
"You can just call me Mrs. Moon, I work in there." She introduced pointing towards the house.
"Really?" I asked moving forward.
"Yes, I tried to warn your wife yesterday but I guess she didn't see it and it was too late."
"What?, What do you mean by too late? What did he do to my wife?" I asked moving closer and
grabbing the woman's hand.
The guys pulled me back telling me to calm down.
"Oh I didn't mean it like that, she is fine, well I think she is fine, but you need to know that obsessed
with your wife, like really obsessed since they were in high school and I think that was because she
was the only one who was nice to him in school. I was his nanny since when he was very young and I
can assure you that Sam is very nice but the issue is I know he is not mentally okay, his mother was in
a toxic relationship with his father, but even though his mother married another man when he was just
one, his father still came back to harass his mother, he'd always beat her with a whip, I think seeing
those things as he grew up broke him, his father is in jail now but I don't think he can let go of that
memory, he felt neglected as he grew up and his stepsister didn't help his situation, I tried to talk to his
mother about taking him to a therapist but I guess she was battling with issues of her own."
"Do you know where my wife is then?"
"I do, well I think so, when I left yesterday I saw him come out over an hour later, he drove the car that
way then he came back in a cab later, Nora also arrived a few minutes after he entered."
"Nora?"
"Yes, Nora, his half-sister."
"Nora is his stepsister?" I asked shocked.
"Yes, she went in yesterday, I had to go home yesterday and I was coming back now, I am turned
between reporting him to the boss and being loyal to my employer, Sam is a good person." She said
and I sighed,
"Please help me save my wife, I need you to get us inside, so we can save my wife," I said and she
nodded.
"I can't get you inside like this, you'll need a disguise, let's go, my house is not far from here." She said
and we nodded
We got to her house and she gave us clothes that looks like her husband's, we changed into them, of
course, they didn't fit well but I guess they will serve their purpose well, she gave us nose masks, face
caps and gloves too.
"Now, all you have to do is follow my lead, but before you go please promise me once we've rescued
your wife, you would help Sam too."
"That would be for the police to decide, but I won't hurt him if the police get there on time," I replied
sincerely, she nodded and we walked back to the house, she spoke to the security guards and they
allowed us in.
"What did you tell them?" James asked on our way inside the house.
"That Sam needs you guys to help him move something, you should wait here, I have to check where
Nora is." She said and we waited, she came back a few minutes later to tell us that Nora had gone to
the garden and Sam was probably in the room where he kept Nora.
She led us quietly into the master bedroom which we searched yesterday and we were shocked to see
that the rug in the center of the room had been removed and there was some kind of opening covered
with glass.
"We were in this room yesterday, why didn't we hear her?." Lewis asked
"Soundproof." Mrs. Moon replied.
I slid the glass open to reveal the stairs, I entered and others followed me quietly, the stairs led us into
a room, the first thing I saw was Sam in his brief using scissors to cut Tracy's cloth. RêAd lat𝙚St chapters at Novel(D)ra/ma.Org Only
When he saw us he jumped off Tracy.
"What are you doing here?" He asked and I felt like going to meet him and beating him till he draws his
last breath.
"You can't have Tracy she is mine." He said but I ignored him and moved closer to Tracy who was tied
to the bed.
"You are here." She said weakly.
"What did he do to you?" I asked tears pooling in my eyes, seeing her bruised body.
"There is a gun in the drawer." She whispered
"Keep him away from the drawer," I said and they blocked the drawer.
"You can't have Tracy, she is mine, she is mine," Sam said trying to hit me but I pushed him, Cole and
Lewis held him while James called the police.
I untied her and placed her head on my leg.
"Please call 911," I said calmly like I didn't feel like screaming the whole building down.
I didn't say or hear anything, even when the police came and they were asking me questions, I didn't
answer, it was like I was in another world and all I could see was weak Tracy, with bruises on her body.
It has not been up to twenty-four hours but she looked like she was maltreated for over two months, I
was glad when the ambulance finally arrived.
