Chapter 461
"You know the dog's ruining our private time, yet you still won't take him away!"
The argument heated up, and fists started flying. It had been a blur who swung first, but suddenly, they were both in the thick of it, adrenaline pumping, trading punches and kicks in a fierce standoff.
Charles was going for the knockout, targeting every hit, but Sean was not about to give up. He ducked and dodged, looking for any chance to strike back.
The pair drew after a few rounds. Both were roughed up, and neither had gained the upper hand. It had become obvious Sean was taking the brunt of it, with more than a few marks to show for it. As for unseen bruises, they both had plenty of those too.
Sean had always warned Peter about Charles, calling him sneaky and not to be underestimated.
Beyond the punches to Sean's face, there had been the blows to the waist and legs. Even if they left no mark behind, Sean was still sore.
Charles had also taken his share of hits, but he was quick enough on his feet to ensure that the hits he did take were not too bad.
Panting and out of breath, Sean threw up his hands in defeat. "I'm done, okay? I'll take Arnold away right now!" he spat out, annoyed. "He's just a dog. Why do you have to be like this with your own brother?"
Ronald was by the door, barely holding in his chuckles as he watched the showdown. He wanted to jump in, but what could he do?
Everyone knew these guys were no amateurs. They rarely fought, so when they did, it was serious business.Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
Sean shot Ronald, who was smirking at the sidelines, a look. Ronald quickly snapped back to attention. "Mr. Hoffman, Mr. and Ms. Adams have left. Mr. Adams wanted me to pass on his thanks to you."
Charles's brow creased as he gave Ronald a slight nod. Sean, however, was baffled. "Thanks for what? You practically strong-armed the guy. He's probably cursing you under his breath!"
Charles's eyes narrowed, and he cracked his knuckles. "Sounds like you're itching for a rematch."
"No way." Sean backpedaled with a shake of his head. "I'm throwing in the towel. Besides, Charles, I've got surgery later today. These hands are my cash cow, and insuring them set me back a hundred million, so go easy on me, okay? Aim for the face, not the hands!"
Ronald could not contain a snort of laughter at that. However, he was a professional trained by Charles himself, so he quickly snapped back to business. "Mr. Smith, you might not know that Mr. Hoffman hooked know Ms. Adams up with a top-notch plastic surgeon from abroad."

Then, it clicked for Sean. "Ah, that explains it. Ms. Adam's face was.... Let's just say, less than perfect." Even with makeup on, Sean had

face. In today's vain world, a
woman's face was her currency.
Charles adjusted his jacket, unfazed by the scrapes on his face. His commanding presence remained untouched, as did his devilishly good looks, which could make any woman green with envy.
"Hey, wait up!" Sean finally decided to follow Charles back to Phoenix Tree Residence and take Arnold back with him.
However, Arnold did not want to go. He stood at the door, howling and scratching, his sad puppy eyes looking back at Charles and Noelle. Noelle felt her heart twist. She blurted out, "Do we really have to send him away?"
