Stepping out of the car, Noelle smoothed down her outfit, looking sharp. Charles followed suit, eyeing Noelle's attire with approval.

"How's this? It's got to be perfect now, right? Oh, and who are we meeting later? I need a little warning so I can get my game face on!" Noelle said, sneaking a peek at Charles. She caught him staring at her and self-consciously checked herself out. "Does it not look good?"

"You look great!" Charles assured her, his gaze intense. "Come on, we should head out. It's time!" He glanced at his watch, which read two o'clock. "Ronald mentioned the plane's touching down at two. We should be able to catch him if we go now."

Noelle grinned. "You haven't spilled the beans yet. Who is it?"

"George!" Charles replied. Noelle paused for a beat, then her eyes widened. "The head engineer? George Gibson?"

"Have you heard of him?" Charles asked, unfazed, offering his hand. Noelle took it and matched his stride. "Heck yeah, George is a legend! Mr. Parker can't stop talking about him. I heard he's the mastermind behind Colossus Group's last two mega malls."

Charles smiled, acknowledging her insight. "So you've been digging around?"

Noelle blushed a little. "Well, not really. I just like to read up on industry stuff in my free time, and Mr. Parker brings it up a lot lately, so I did a bit of sleuthing!"

Charles gave Noelle an approving look, his eyebrows lifting in a way that made her heart skip a beat. She squeezed his hand a little tighter and asked with a playful glint in her eye. "So, did you basically sneak me in through the backdoor today?"

"You could say that," Charles replied with a chuckle, tapping Noelle's nose gently before giving it a playful tweak. "But remember, a mentor can only show you the path; it's up to you to walk it. I can introduce you to the best people, but if you don't put in the effort, it won't mean a thing."

"I get that. Someone else might open the door, but I've got to walk through it on my own steam."

"Exactly. And that's something you might want to chat about with your mentor."

"You mean Mr. Parker?" Noelle

looked surprised. "He's been totally

upfront with me. When it comes to teaching, he's practically at a

professor's level." Little did sh

know, she was actually selling Brian short.

Brian was more than just a good teacher, which was why Charles relied on him so much.

"George was his teacher!"

"No way! Why didn't he mention that?" Noelle exclaimed, her curiosity piqued. "Hold on a sec!"

She dug into her bag for her phone, saw that Brian was calling, and stopped mid-search. "Talk about perfect timing. It's him calling!"

"Noelle, how's the survey data | asked you to handle coming along?" Brian was out with a bug, so he had been cooped up at home for the last few days. Still, he could not shake off his concern for work, checking in with Noelle with a barrage of calls every day.

"Don't sweat it, Mr. Parker. I prepared everything and passed it to Mr. Hoffman," Noelle replied, her voice bright with a smile. "You just focus on getting better. Arya and I have this covered."

"Got it," Brian responded, his voice punctuated by a couple of coughs. "What did Mr. Hoffman have to say about it?"
